“Kristen.” a woman’s voice called out. “That’s me.” Kristen said as she went up to the counter to receive her drink. “Thank you.” she said with a smile. This was exactly what she needed. It had snowed today and her car was in the shop, so she had been walking everywhere today. Well besides the one cab she took earlier this morning, that was a mistake. It would have been quicker to walk. Manhattan traffic was ridiculous in the morning, but when you added snow, it was like no one knew how to drive.
Stepping outside, Kristen put her gloves back on and made her way down the sidewalk. The one good thing about the snow was that no tmany people were out in it. There was actually room to walk on the sidewalk. Any other time she wouldn't be able to stroll like she was now. People would be pushing by her and bumping into her. What to do? She didn't want to go home and Stefan's house was too far of a walk right now. Maybe the park? That could be a relaxing walk to help clear her mind. And who knows, she might see someone there she knew.
As she reached Central Park, Kristen finished off the last bit of her coffee. Spotting a trash barrel, she made her way over to it. After throwing her cup away, she quickly turned and bumoed into someone. "Oh my God! I am so sorry." she said before she got a good look at the guy. She knew him. It was Lance's cousin, what was his name? "Noah..?" she asked and then realized it was him. "Hey, it's nice to see you. Sorry again." she said apologizing for bumping into him.

Noah took a deep inhale from his cigarette as he felt the bitter wind bite against his hands. Breathing it out slowly, he let the cigarette dangle from his lips as he reached into his jacket pocket to skip to the next song on his iPod. He couldn’t be more thankful that Logan had given him one of his motorcycles since his was left over in England. Motorcycles came in pretty handy in New York, especially when the taxis seemed more pack on the streets than sardines in a can. But he’d left it on the curb, making his way towards Central Park. He figured he would get to know the city better on foot. As used to cold as he might be from London, the snow was still getting to him. He was going to need some coffee – quickly. He narrowed his eyes behind his sunglasses, looking through the streets before he found a sidecart that had deli coffee. Sold. After taking it black, offering a small smirk to the girls behind him , he paid for theirs too. Just then he felt his phone vibrate and did his best to text Hope back as he walked down the park. He was so wrapped up in texting her that when someone ran into him he hardly noticed until he could tell they were talking to him. Noah blew the smoke from his cigarette off to the side before he moved his fingers from his coffee cup and lifted his hand up to pull the earphones out. “ What was that, mate?” he asked before lowering his sunglasses on his nose to get a look at her. “ Oh hey,” he said before smiling. Noah leaned over, throwing the cigarette down on the pavement before he twisted his foot around on it, picking it up and throwing it away. After that he quickly put his phone in his pocket to get the music away and hooked his glasses onto the front of his shirt so his arm was free. “ What are you doing here?” he asked as he leaned down to give Kristen a friendly hug before taking a small step back. People probably saw each other all the time in New York, but seeing as how he didn’t know that many people – it was sort of weird for him to stumble into someone. Or for them to literally stumble into him. “ You aren’t running off somewhere are you?” he asked, before looking down the park and back down at her. outfit song

Kristen returned the hug and looked up at Noah. "Just getting some fresh air." she said with a smile. It was sort of the truth. She just needed to get out of her house. Her mother was driving her crazy. Her mother had a way of making her feel like she was below her. Like her mother was so much better than her. Her mother made her feel like crap sometimes. No, Kristen didn't have a job, but she was attending Columbia and double majoring at that. Her mother always told her that sheneeded to get a job, that no one in the "real world" would support her all the time. What her mother didn't know was that there was someon actually helping her out. Elijah. That man did whatever he could for her. It was more than enough too, she didn't expect him to do any of that, but he did it for her because he wanted to. Kristen laughed when Noah asked if she was running off somewhere. "No, just taking a nice walk. I love the snow." she said as she looked around. "What about you?" she asked looking back to him, "What are you doing out here?"

Noah looked down at her as she spoke, taking in the last few drinks of his coffee before he leaned over her and dropped the paper cup into the trashcan. “ You love the snow huh” he repeated before placing both of his hands in his front pockets. “ Well,” he said before leaning down to whisper in her ear quietly, “ I’m actually a British spy. I was sent here on a mission” he said before leaning back and giving her a serious nod. He waited a moment before he gave a lop sided smirk and chuckled under his breath. “ No I uh.. I was out for a ride on my bike and just sort of figured I would get a feel for the city by walking around. Seems like you’ve got that down pat,” he said before licking his lips. “ It’s a bit chilly though, I was thinking about finding somewhere to hide in for a bit and warm up,” he said, trying to ignore the fact that he was starving. Actually, when was the last time he had eaten? It definitely hadn’t been today, and now that he was thinking about it he couldn’t remember if he had dinner or not. “ I uh.. I don’t want to keep you. I’ll let you get back to the snow,” he said with a polite smile before he stepped to the side so she could make her way past him.

Kristen gave him a questioning look when he said he was a British spy. He couldn't be serious...right? Before she could ask him if he was serious he smirked and then chuckled and she couldn't help but to laugh. She really thought he was serious. Bike? He must mean am motorcycle by the looks of the jacket he was wearing. She smiled again, "Yeah, I love walking, although it can get tiring." She knew the best routes to take and about how long they would take to get her where she needed to be. Just an upside to being born and raised in New York she guessed. Kristen was going to offer to show him some places around this area, but he said that he didn't want to keep her. "Oh, uh alright. Well it was nice seeing you." she said with a smile as she began to walk away from him. Just then she stopped and turned around, "Actually." she said as she walked back to him, "There's this cute little diner a few blocks from here. They light a fire when it snows. Would you want to go get something to eat?" she really didn't want to go home and he seemed like an interesting guy. Why not get to know him?

Noah had just managed to put his sunglasses back on when Kristen stopped him. He turned to look at her, in her cute little red coat, as she asked him about having something to eat at a cute little diner. Food? Snow? Fireplace? Girls didnt really think stuff through did they? He knew she had a boyfriend, so that's probably the only reason it took him so long standing there. But why not? She was cute , he was hungry, and boyfriend was out of site. " Yeah, sure. That actually sounds great. Let's not walk though.. You look like you're about to be frozen. You're too small to walk around like this. I'll give you a ride home afterwards," he said before tilting his head over his shoulder. He placed his hands in his front pocket before he made his way towards his motorcycle. A lot of people though it was too cold to zoom around on a motorcycle but when you were used to doing it in London, with the snow and the rain pretty much year round, this was nothing. " Here, you'll freeze," he said before taking his jacket off and gesturing for her to take off her coat and out his own underneath hers. Noah bounced his shoulders and adjusted to the cold before taking the helmet off the back of his motorcycle and strapping it to her, smilin as he traced his fingertips across her chin while snapping the strap together. " Stylish," he said sarcastically before climbing on the motorcycle. Noah took in a breath of cold air before telling her to hold on. And good god did she. Noah smirked to himself before kicking his foot off the ground and pulled off into the street. For ninety percent of the ride he would say he drove safely, but every now and then he would lift the front wheel off the ground, just to see how quickly she would clutch harder to him. But it didnt take long to get to the restaurant she had been talking about and he slid the motorcycle up to the curb, getting of himself before he turned to help her off of the motorcycle, helping to take the helmet off. " you did great ," he said with a smile before he stepped into the restaurant. He was pretty sure he felt like a solid block of ice now due to not having his coat. Hopefully there was a table by this fire she was talking about.

Kristen stood there biting her lip nervously as she waited for Noah's answer. Maybe she should have just kept on her walk and let him go his way. Kristen laughed when he said she was too small to be out like this. She was small, but the cold didn't bother her. She was actually comfortable right now. Ride home...he said he had a motorcycle. Kristen had never been on one before. This ought to be interesting. When they got to the bike, he took his jacket off and handed it to her. "I'll be fine. You need it." When he wasn't budging, Kristen took the jacket from him, took hers off and then put both of them back on, his first. Just as she finished buttoning up her coat, Noah was putting a helmet on her head. She laughed when he said she looked stylish, "Oh yeah, I bet it looks great."She climbed onto the back of the motorcycle and quickly wrapped her arms around him.She didn't need him to tell her that, she was already planning on it. Kristen buried her face into his back and held on tighter everytime lifted the front wheel off the ground, not cool. It seemed like forever before they got to the diner. Okay, it wasn't that bad. Kristen smirked when Noah said she did great, "I hope you still have all of your ribs." she laughed a little and followed him into the diner. "Come on." she said as she made her way towards the back by the fire, since it was seat yourself. Luckily there was a table within range of the heat of the fire. Kisten took her coat off, placed it on the back of her chair and then took his off and handed it to him, "Thanks." she said with a small smile. She sat down and picked up her menu. "Hello, my name is Eric and I'll be your server tonight. Can I start you off with drinks?" Kristen smiled, "I'll take a shirley temple please." she looked back to the menu as Noah ordered his drink.

Noah took his jacket back, resting it on the back of his chair before he slid in the seat. He looked over at the fire, rubbing his arms quickly to try and warm up before he looked at Kristen. Part of him felt like asking her if she made it a habit to have fireside meals with other men. Better not. After she ordered her drink he smiled slowly, looking up. " I will have a Roy Rogers. And also a spot of earl gray tea if you have it,". As his phone want off again he reached into his pocket and turned it off, setting it on the table. She deserved his attention. " How did your paper turn out?" he questioned about the assignment he had helped her on as the waiter set their drinks down. He narrowed his eyes with a smile when the server asked if they were ready to order. Noah reached up and held onto her hand for just a few moments before takin the menu from her hands. " Yes, I think we'll have the chocolate lava cake. Also there's an assortment of cheesecake, regular chocolate vanilla, we will have all of those. And the apple tart, brownie supreme. The brûlée.. And um... The fruit assortment with chocolate dipping sauce," he said before offering the menus up to the server. Noah licked his lips as he looked back up at Kristen, giving her another crooked smile. " Lucky for me I guess that you were walking Central Park alone instead of with your friends. You should start doing things aside from them you know, get to know new people. I can be very friendly " he said with the slight lift of an eyebrow as he grinned.

Kristen couldn't help but smile when he said a spot of tea. Earl Gray tea was good, one of her favorites. She continued to look over the menu, but put it down when Noah asked about the assignment he helped her with. "Oh, I got an A, so I'd say pretty well. All thanks to you. You definitely saved me." she said with a laugh. "Thank you again for that." British lit was not her strong area, but Noah helped her out and she passed that class. Luckily she didn't have to take it again. The waiter came back and Kristen was about to order something, but she stopped when she felt Noah's hand on her's. Her eyes immediately shifted to look at their hands. She let the menu slip through her hands, but she kept looking down. Oh no. They were there, thos damn butterflies. Why? This was no reason to start to get nervous. They were just friends hanging out. Kristen looked up at Noah and gave him a quick smile. Hopefully he wouldn't be able to tell. She took a sip from her straw and then put the glass back down on the napkin. He was right, there were other people in the world, but she loved hanging out with her friends. She offered a small smile, "Yeah I know, but I love those girls. We just always have a good time together."Without realizing it, Kristen bit her lip nervously and then looked at the fire. After a moment of awkward silence, Kristen looked back to Noah, "So when did you get your motorcycle license?"

Noah nodded as he listened to her talk about her friends. He had to give her that, he wouldn’t actually ever insist someone quit hanging out with their friends. It had been sort of easy for him to pack up and leave England - his family needed him here in the states. Even now it was weird to think of Lance back home and whether or not he should be there with him. But he didn’t regret it, Lance would’ve done the same for him. He smiled as he noticed the moment of hesitation on her face paired with the fact that she was biting her bottom lip. Noah smiled slowly , resting his elbows on the table as he started to get his tea ready. “ Are you supposed to have a license for a motorcycle? Logan just gave me the keys,” he said as he looked up from his tea. But judging by the look on her face he gave a quick laugh, “ I’m saucing you. I’ve driven motorcycles since I was about.. six. I started with motocross bikes. My parents even built me a track in the back of our house back in England. So I’m really into that,” he said before he picked up the cup of tea and took a drink. “ So the last time we hung out I didn’t really get to find out too much about you. Tell me about yourself, what you do.. what you’re majoring in,” he said before he licked the corner of his lips, “ You were listening to Radiohead so clearly you have an appreciation for Britain,” he said before looking her in the eyes and smiling coyly.

Kristen's mouth opened a little in shock when Noah asked if he needed a motorcycle license. She couldn't tell if he was was being serious or not. She didn't know him well enough to know if he was a sarcastic one, or what. When he laughed, Kristen let out a breath of air and laughed too. That was the second time he got her. "Oh, that's exciting." she said with a smile before she took another sip of her drink. "At least your parents support your intrests. That's always a good thing." She slid the drink to the side and crossed her arms in front of her, leaning on them. Kristen smiled and let out a small laugh when he mentioned Radiohead. "Yeah, guilty as charged. My brother got me into Radiohead awhile ago." She shifted in her seat a bit to get a little more comfortable. "Well I'm double majoring in Biology and Creative Writing, weird mixture, I know," she laughed, "and minoring in theatre. What I like to do..let's see," Kraten tapped her fingers against her lips as she thought, "Well besides hanging and shopping with my firends, I love to write, hence the creative writing major. I don't know what else. I'm a pretty boring person to be honest." she shrugged her shoulders and smiled. "What about you?"

“ Oh yeah, my parents are great,” he said with a genuine grin and nodding his head. “But my sister is here though.. uh Sam Masters. She used to be in the American Ballet Company but then she married Chad Masters. But uh when my parents split up, I stayed in London with my mum, and Sam came to the states with our dad,” he said before taking another drink of tea. He smiled as he listened to her talk about her brother and sat back in his seat as the waiter came to start and set all of the deserts on the table. “ Could you get her a tea as well, please?” he said before picking up a fork and offering it out to Kristen. “ I wouldn’t say it’s too crazy of a mixture. It’s unique. I like it,” he offered before taking his own fork. He looked down at all of the choices and decided on the chocolate raspberry cheesecake before he took a bite of it. “ This is heavenly,…here,” he said before leaning forward on the table. He took in a deep breath, putting cheesecake on his fork as he spoke , “ I guess my hobbies would be motocross, and my motorcycle. Or working on my motorcycle… I’m very protective of the things I put my legs around,” he said as he looked up at her with a smirk before bringing his fork towards her mouth so she could try the cheesecake. “ I’m pre-med right now.. with a minor in sports therapy. Je reçois également une mineure en langues étrangères, en particulier françaises, " he said with a slow smile over at her,. " Take a bite, belle"
