Jo crossed her arms as she stared at Kelin. Oh she was sure he probably had some sort of excuse. But really, the tension between her eyebrows seemed to lessen as he continued to talk. She was instantaneously lifting her eyebrows, “Oh you don’t believe me?” she questioned with irritation. The more she thought about it, the more she had to sort of admit to herself that she hadn’t made this entirely easy for him. He’d jumped through all sorts of hoops and ladders, done everything to keep her from running away. And here she was, seemingly looking for any excuse to run. So the moment an opportunity presented itself, here she was to throw it in his face. When everyone else was already throwing it in his face for him. She went to to ask him another question, concerning the now infamous kiss between him and his ex-wife, before he was pulling her in for a kiss. The moment he did, she moved her arms from the way they were tightly wound against her own body and brought her hands up into the side of his hair. Okay, maybe he had a bad day, too. But he was having to kiss an American. At least she got to kiss someone Irish. When he pulled away she found herself reaching for him slightly before taking a step back. Any other questions? She brought her eyes over to him again. “Where’s your costume?” she asked, pushing her hair behind her ear. She bit the edge of her lip before clearing her throat, “Okay, shut up” she said, trying to mentally prepare herself for what she was going to say. “ I…” she said, narrowing her eyebrows before puffing out her cheeks. He had basically just given an entire speech, how could this be so difficult. “ I like you,” she said shortly, looking down at her fingers as a form of distraction, before rolling her eyes to herself and looked up to meet his eye. “ I like you, Kelin” she said, keeping her eyes on him before scrunching her nose up a bit. “ RORY!! RORY!!!” she heard Willie yelling from down the hall.

Sometimes Rory forgot that even though Ethan would say she didn't need to, she knew she should be more careful about the things she said. It wasn't anyone's fault about what happened to Ethan's family but the least she could do was not say anything that made him think about it. She was quiet for a minute. So was he a lot of the time. He didn't talk about much. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She knew he'd change the subject anyways. "Camping might be fun," she added. She did really like camping. Rory sighed, finding a spot against him and shut her eyes, laughing slightly, "Oh I don't know, it's evolved quite a few times but at this point I think I'm gonna go with woodland elf," she joked since half her costume was missing. Rory tossed her crust back into the box and said, "Let me guess what you are, you're... a movie extra. Nope, you're a muggle."

Ethan smiled as he looked down at Rory who seemed to perfectly fit against his side. He dropped his arm so that he could trace his thumb against the side of her own arm. "Woodland elves would like camping I suppose," he responded quietly, seeing as how they had just been speaking about camping as well as the fact that her little costume had varied up until this point. Being a girl must be difficult, at least that is sure as heck what it seemed like. " I think it's obvious that I am Dan Hudson," he said with a faux sense of defensiveness. But instead he smiled again slowly, leaning down to kiss the side of her hair. " I.. am just a mate who is happy to be home. Whatever that means anymore," he said, looking down at the pile of crusts that had accumulated in the pizza box. It was the little things that continuously made him smile about her, the little things they had in common that just kept coming. " I suppose we won't find any trick or treaters up here," he said, looking over his shoulder at the empty rooftop. He found it hard to imagine that their building had that many to begin with anyway. And if you were quiet enough you could probably hear the drunken people of New York making their ways through the streets. " I never did thank you for everything," he said slowly, referring to back in Australia when his world had literally started to crumble. The more he was in New York the more it seemed like he could pretend that it wasn't happening, and maybe that was the best approach for him right now, to help him heal. That and the fact that being around Rory seemed to cause a lot of the pain to go away by being near her. "Thank you," he added quietly, wrapping both of his arms around her tightly as he pulled her closer to his body.

Kelin was done being timid. If he liked her and she liked him and they knew it then why tip toe? Why even bother trying to run? Kelin wasn't so worried about scaring her away anymore, mostly because if they could get through this little bump in the road then there was no reason to worry about that. He didn't think she'd be going anywhere. And besides maybe she needed to see him being more forward, because that timid guy? Not exactly in his nature to wait around. He'd been in a new situation too, but now that he knew what he was gunning for he wasn't gonna pussy foot around it. Every time she said she liked him he couldn't help the smile that was growing on his face, especially watching her struggle with herself over it. "Yeah, I know..." he said quietly, because he did. But it was nice to hear her say it too. "So," he said, "What now? Who are you, Annie Oakley?" he questioned, looking over her costume. It could have just been cow girl but Jo wasn't that basic. Had to be something more historical, knowing her.

Jo couldn’t help the pained expression that had crept over her face as Kelin said that he knew, but at least he wasn’t forcing her to sit and talk about her feelings. They hit a bump in the road, she said it, moved past it. The end. There was little to no purpose on dwelling on things. Though the more she thought about it.. that bitch sure did deserve a square punch to the nose. Jo smiled instantly as he asked if she was Annie Oakley. “Her original nickname was actually “Watanya Cicilla” which she got from her fellow castmate Sitting Bull during her time with Buffalo Bills Wild West. It means “ little sure shot” and was used in various types of advertisement,” she said, biting the inside of her cheek so that she would shut herself up. But she could feel all of the information starting to bubble up inside of her. “ While her attempts to have presidents enlist women as sharpshooters into the army never took hold, President Teddy Roosevelt did honor her by naming a troop of men after various skits that she performed as a nod to her skills and talents,” she said giving a nod, “ Few people know that she actually suffered from temporary paralysis from a train accident. After five surgeries she was able to gain her movement back to the point where she was able to shoot the ashes off a cigarette which some german jackass was smoking. She taught over fifteen thousand women how to shoot guns, and one of her most ignored quotes was “ I would like to see every woman know how to handle a weapon as well as she handles a baby,” she said, smiling to herself at the end of her little speech. “But… yeah I’m Annie Oakley,” she said offering a quick nod. She puffed her cheeks out before throwing in one last fact, “It’s speculation that she could have prevented World War I if she had shot the German instead of his cigarette. That jackass german… was Kaiser Wilhelm II.” she said before smiling as she nodded. “ Cool, huh?” she questioned before taking a long drink of the mouthwash. “ Let’s get pizza and find you a costume,” she said, clapping him on the shoulder before she started to make her way back toward the party.
