Kenzie sat in the chair next to Wes, trying to ignore the fact that about five different men had their hands in her shirt adjusting her mic at separate times before looking at Wes. “ I don’t think one of them even worked here,” she said straight faced. Wes laughed quietly, cracking his knuckles nervously in his chair. He didn’t like these sort of things. He grew up with Luke and Anabelle, where he’d been shy and a bit timid. She leaned back, looking at Emma who was talking to some hair stylist in the back. Emma was so nice to frikkin’ everyone. It was endearingly annoying. “We’re on in ten,” someone said behind her. Instantly, ‘She Looks So Perfect’ started blaring from the speakers around them. “ Wow,” Kenzie said, tugging her ear slightly at the volume that had surrounded them.
“Welcome back to our special. We are sitting here with Wes Bryan, and Kenzie Renner.. soon to be Mrs.Superman.”. Kenzie narrowed her eyebrows slightly as she crossed her legs. It felt strange, being referred to as Mrs.Superman when Brayden’s band was playing in the background.
It began to dim out and she looked over at Wes as he was greeting the interviewer politely. “ Kenzie, we’re so glad you could take time out of your wedding planning to join us. How is everything going, do you guys have a date set, yet?” Kenzie sat up slightly, giving a slight nod of her head. “We do. It’s kind of tricky, because you want all of these pieces to fit together nicely to make this perfect picture, but it just doesn’t happen ninety percent of the time. So you just have to learn to accept that not everything is going to be exactly how you want it. You can’t go Bridezilla about it, you just have to sort of accept it and move on, make the best that you can out of the situation.” she said, bouncing her foot slightly. “What is it that you want that isn’t going to plan?” Kenzie gave a slight nod, “Our wedding is set during a time that Brayden is gone on tour, and obviously that’s going to be really difficult. Um… Brayden has been the most important person in my life since I can remember. So I never imagined I would be starting my life with someone, without him even being there. But, I get it. He has a dream, too. He has to start his life, and he’s doing this amazing, amazing tour that I’m so proud of him. It’s one of those things where I can’t even get mad at him for it,” Kenzie picked at the edge of her fingernails subconsciously, unaware of how uncomfortable the prospect of Brayden not being at her wedding made her. “He’s just as upset about it as well,” Wes countered in. He spoke for a moment about his friendship with Brayden, Kenzie looking over her shoulder to listen to his responses, giving a small nod here and there. “I’m just looking forward to the guy coming back so that I can quit being forced to get Sushi with Kenzie,” he said with a laugh. “Why don’t you ask Daniel to go eat sushi with you?” the interviewed asked. Kenzie couldn’t even stop the scrunch of her face, “Why would I?” she said, before quickly adding, “Daniel is more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy. Which, .. Wes is, too. Every time we go to get sushi he asks them if they have a microwave.” she said, giving a small laugh in his direction.
Kenzie spun her ring around her finger as they began to press Wes on who he was dating. The poor guy, he was turning more and more red by the minute. “He is dating,” she said, placing he thumb under her chin and her forefinger along the sider of her face. Wes looked at her giving an emergent look. Kenzie rolled her eyes, “You guys have been dancing around this long enough. It’s… like there is speculation and what not. And people already know, so you might as already spill. Because it won’t be as exciting and you can go on with your life,…” she said. Wes ran his hand over his hair, clearing his throat, “ Yeah, I’m dating,” he said. “Anyone in particular?” the interviewer asked, prying for the exact name. “My sister,” Kenzie added pointedly. “I’m sorry, Wes. It’s frikkin obvious. You stare at her like … you’re a blind man getting a chance to see for the first time.” Kenzie looked over her shoulder at Emma on the side off the stage, giving her a quick apologetic look. “She shouldn’t have to hide she’s dating you. You guys are adorable together. Let it out. Let love win,” she said, “It’s not winning for you,” Wes muttered under his breath. “huh?” Kenzie looked in his direction, but the interviewer didn’t seem to have heard anything and was willing to move on.
"What was it like for you, growing up as one of the daughters of "The Renners" in the Taboo family?" he asked. Kenzie took in quick breath, " I mean, I think at the time we didn't realize it was any different than anyone else growing up. You know you've got... insane Uncle Shane who will do anything to make you smile, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Madeline who just.. are insanely beautiful, and.. I mean you would spend time with Aunt Mackenzie and Uncle Riley, and you would just ... they seemed like absolute royalty to me. I thought they were perfection. But the beautiful thing about aunt Mack was that she has this dual thing going on. I can sit properly with my legs crossed and know where my hand placement should be, I know all about the forks at dinner.. and it's not because my mother wasn't influential, but aunt Mack was just naturally ...classy. And then people would leave, and you're in her kitchen dancing along with her to 'Baby Got Back' while making spaghetti when she babysits you. She's one of the most vibrant people I know. And Uncle Shane and Aunt Claire, I think they just never grew up.... You go to visit Wes and his family and it's like stepping into a Hallmark movie." she said, causing Wes to laugh. "Blake Renner song to describe your current relationship," he said, "Bad Blood," she said, wincing immediately after saying it. "No, no, edit that out. It was just the first one that came to mind. It's a bad ass song. I'm so sorry.. no no, edit that out. Ask me again... It's .. " she said, drawing a blank as she continued to stare at the interviewer. "Ask her, her favorite song to describe herself and Brayden," Wes offered. "All You Had To Do Was Stay," she said quickly, making a surprised reaction at how quickly she responded. "No I.. well.." she said, looking over at Wes. "...Because he...left...for tour... Wes said while nodding at her. Kenzie licked her lips, nodding slowly before looking at the interviewer. "Yeah, obviously. Sorry. Duh. He's gone and obviously that's really depressing." she said, letting out a quick breath as she sat back. " I'm sorry, can we take a second?" she asked, smiling at the interviewer before she got up, taking the microphone out of its plug under her shirt and walking away from the set, leaving Wes smiling at the interviewer.
