Kenzie took a sip of the pink drink from her solo cup. She wasn’t exactly sure what was in it, but someone had handed it to her. If it was Brayden he would’ve known to give her some type of whiskey. She could wait until she found him again. Where had he disappeared off to? “Have you seen Brayden?” a familiar voice called toward her, causing her to turn and see Ian. A smile spread across her lips mischeviously. “ Ian!” she said, reaching her hand up to touch his hair. “I think I saw him in here,” she said, grabbing his hand and pulling him down the hall. She opened a door and peeked inside, nope no one in there. After pulling Ian into the room she shut the door and leaned against it, smiling at him. “Oh.. I guess he’s not in here,”

Ian had gone up to Kenzie in hopes that she had seen Brayden around. Why those two couldn’t just figure things out, he’d never know. But the great news is that she seemed to know exactly where Brayden was. He wanted to tell him that he had seen AJ and some prick was talking to her in the kitchen. Once he stepped into the room, he looked around to realize it was empty before turning around and seeing Kenzie staring at him like she’d been starved for three days and he was covered in cake frosting or something. He swallowed hard, taking several steps back. “ Hey Kenz we should really get back to the party,” he said, backing into the dresser which knocked the vinyl albums onto the ground.

Brayden had gotten talked into a game of flip cup with some of the soccer team, but he was free now, looking for a new drink. Which brought him to making two drinks because he knew that bottle of whiskey that Tanner had just set down hadn't been here long. Who knew what on earth Kenzie was probably drinking. "Hey have you guys seen Kenzie?" "Yeah, she just went down there with Matthews." What? He was gonna kill him. That was Brayden's only condition ever. No one touched Kenzie. It was Tanner's one cringe worthy quality, his crush on her. Brayden sighed and stomped off in the most casual Brayden way to the only closed door, throwing it open. There was Kenzie, with Ian. Ian immediately threw his hands up in defense, and Brayden assessed the situation, nodding. No foul play. "Hey, Kenz, I got you a drink." He offered it to her, winking at Ian.

"We could have our own party in here..." Kenzie tried to counter, offering him another smile. Seriously, what was this guys deal? She'd been prancing around him in tiny little outfits since she met him and not once had he tried to do anything about it. Here she was basically throwing herself at him, and nothing. When the door opened quickly, she turned around to see Brayden. Instantly she lit up, but for an entirely different reason. It was her person. "Hey babe," she said, going over to him to take the drink from him. Oh, she could smell it. Whiskey. " This is why I love you," she said, placing her hand against the back of his head before standing on her toes to plant a kiss on his lips. "Are you playing tonight?" she asked him, curious about whether or not the guys were going to play some music. " Or are you free to play with me later?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows. She leaned in to whisper. " He refuses to make out with me, so now I just want to make out with someone....so... Madden up,"

Brayden was seriously one of the most chill people on the planet. His whole family was chill as hell. Except for AJ.. that girl was hot...Ian shook his head, shaking the thought from his mind. The point was, Brayden was chill. And he had told Ian that if he touched Kenzie, he died. Which meant something coming from Brayden, so he figured he had to do his best to honor it. Plus, out of everyone in the band, if Brayden was provoked enough he probably could beat the hell out of anyone. When the door was swung open, Ian threw his hands up as quick as possible. "oh thank God" he said, seeing that someone was interrupting whatever the hell Kenzie was doing, and then panicking the moment that he realized it was Brayden. But after quickly analyzing the situation, Brayden seemed to be alright with Ian, even tossing him a wink. Ian let out an exasperated breath. He was in the clear, for now. But just like that, Kenzie was asking to make out with Brayden. " What?" he said, with a face that could only visually portray the amount of confusion he felt that words could not. " I don't understand you two," he said mainly to himself as he moved past them. "Some douche is eyeing AJ," he said, deciding to make his way to the kitchen.

AJ tossed her hair over her shoulder lightly, smiling at... whatever his name was that brought her a drink. "That was so thoughtful, thank you." "Hey, no problem. So your Madden's sister?" "The one and only." "You guys look nothing alike," the guy stated, and AJ nodded, rolling her eyes playfully, "Yeah we get that a lot, unfortunately we both look like clones of at least one of our parents, so adoption isn't really even plausible." AJ took a sip of the drink he had brought her tentatively. She didn't really know the guy and didn't trust him enough to actually drink it. But she smiled anyways because he was hot and she was pretty sure he was on the football team. Obviously friends with Bray, it seemed like. Which speaking of... "Bolton." "Oh heyy Brayden, I was just getting to know your sister-" Brayden was taller than him, he could be intimidating when he was trying to be, "No you weren't." AJ stared at her brother, irritated. The guy apparently re evaluated his situation, "I uh, catch you later." After he had gone, Brayden shook his head, "Lex, seriously? Do mom and dad even know you left your room?" "I don't need your help, Brayden," she said with a forced smile. "That guy is an asshat." "Alright, well I'm sure I would've figured that out on my own. Hey," Aj said, smiling at Kenzie and Ian.

Bolton. What a douche name. “Bring her another drink and you’ll taste my fist for a week,” Ian said, slapping his hand on the side of the guys cheek as he headed away from the situation. As Brayden started talking to AJ, he crossed his arms standing beside him with a lift of his eyebrows. “No no no no, Lex” he said, shaking his head slowly. “ Some things you let people who care about you figure out FOR you. For example, do you think I am a decent guy? Because even decent guys have terrible thoughts. And you’re a young woman who is very.. you’re..” he said, realizing that the blush and rash was starting on his neck again. “ you have the..” he said, reaching his arm out to gesture to her face. “It’s..you..” he said before sighing and dropping his arm and walking away to get a drink. “ You’re very pretty, Lexi.” he said as quiet could be to himself as he poured a drink, cursing himself before taking a long drink.

"Yeah," Brayden said in agreement. Ian was right, guys were constantly checking AJ out, you couldn't really think they all had good intentions. Brayden watched as his sister's Madden inherited eyebrow rose slightly, watching Ian struggle through that one before walking away. Even Brayden was rooting for him, which was totally wrong. He shouldn't be condoning his friend hitting on his kid sister. But Ian was so... Ian. He was harmless. "That was painful." Brayden smiled, "Whatever, just don't do anything where you might actually need my help." "Wasn't planning on it." AJ walked away out into the party, probably going to find whoever she showed up with. Brayden turned to Kenzie, sighing and then smiled, "That is the nicest jacket." He took a sip of his drink, "So Ian won't budge?" Brayden knew damn well Ian wouldn't budge.

Kenzie narrowed her eyes slightly as AJ walked away into the party before taking in a slow breath and holding it momentarily as she turned her focus on Brayden. What did that girl have that Ian saw in her that he didn’t see in Kenzie? I mean, not that it mattered. She was ridiculously in love with Brayden and had a gut feeling that she always would be. But he was in no rush to have a relationship with her, so she might as well enjoy being young, right? “It’s the weirdest thing. You make out with me. Tell him I’m a good kisser,” she said, taking a sip from her drink. Brayden was a good kisser. Brayden was a good everything. She smiled at him, standing on her toes to kiss his cheek again. “Alright. Let’s find you a lady for the evening,” she said, trying to bite back any bitterness that may come with that statement as she scanned over the crowd.

Brayden's friends were so weird. AJ wondered if Ian would ever work up the nerve to hit on her face to face. She worked her way through the party looking for Emma, seeing Brayden's other friend Tanner with some of the soccer team. AJ blamed her mother for her attraction to older guys. Guys her age were so... desperate. Emma was cornered in by some drunk guy, spilling his life story to her AJ realized as she got closer. She shook her head at Emma, she was just so damn sweet. Nodding and all that like she gave a shit. "Hey Em," AJ said smiling, "Wanna go grab a drink?" She managed to get Emma out of ear shot of the drunken ramblin man, "You attract lost souls, Emma," she laughed. "So, should I or shouldn't I, go talk to Tanner? Maybe I should wait and drink a little more..." she thought out loud, waving across the room at Wes. AJ hadn't known he was here. He wasn't even in high school, but she didn't know he was home for the weekend. "Hey, Wes! Let's go say hi to him."

Parties were never really Wes' thing. Especially parties like this. If there were going to be peers passed around, he'd prefer it to be in a tailgate circle or near a bonfire. But after miss Anabelle had gotten off the phone with Blake, he knew the girls were going to some sort of gathering. And it didn't take long to convince him to go see everyone. Including that pretty little bud of a flower, Emma. That girl.. she had sunshine in her eyes. Least, that's the way Wes saw it. He looked up from his glass of coca cola, smiling as he saw AJ. " Hey darlin'" he said, leaning down to her short little frame to give AJ a loose hug. He looked at Emma, taking in a slight breath before nodding his head. "Emma, you look beautiful as always,"

It was not Emma's fault that she attracted every person from here to LA that felt they needed to pour their heart out to her. Emma had spent half her life keeping her mouth shut since Kenzie did most of the talking for her when they were kids. Emma just became a really good listener. She was glad to see AJ reappear and snatch her away, "Thank you, he was just about to tell me how last New year's Eve was the most enlightening night of his life," she sighed. Emma pulled AJ's cup toward her nose and smelled it, making a face. Not really what she had in mind. Didn't they have any whiskey around here? "I think you should talk to him if you want, but I can see Ian pining over you from here," she smiled. AJ was waving and dragging Emma across the room again, "What, Wes is here?" Oh no. "How's my hair," she asked quietly. Having a crush on Wes was criminal. He was way older than her. "Hi..." she said after he's hugged AJ, "Thank you." Oh god, was she blushing? How embarrassing. "... You look good!" she offered, "Home for the weekend?" Geez, she felt as hopeless as she was sure she looked. Kenzie never had this problem.

After recovering from the embarrassment that was failing like an idiot to talk in front of AJ, Ian had managed to have a couple of drinks and maneuver through the party. It looked like she was busy talking to Wes and Emma now anyway. When he first realized he had a crush on her, he had been stupid enough to think that she might be interested in him, too. But who was he kidding? Girls as gorgeous as her weren't interested in guys like him. But it wasn't just that she was beautiful, it was her personality. Now that he had accepted the fact that he'd never actually get the girl, it actually made it easier to be around her. Even if it didn't seem like it. "Well, hello gorgeous," he said in a friendly tone as he head over to Lily. The think about Lily was that as a Collins she knew how to be proper and poised. But with that she also knew how to rage at a party. God knew what was in that cup of hers that she was holding with a perfectly manicured hand. " I'm thinking it's been a while since we spent some time together," he said, smiling at her slowly as he leaned back against the wall to talk to her, ignoring the fact that AJ was making eyes at that Tucker guy that Kenzie said was an idiot.

Brayden laughed slightly at Kenzie's irritation that Ian not be into her. If she only knew. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder when she kissed his cheek, grinning, "Don't be too torn up over it, there is probably just something wrong with him," he joked. Any guy would have to be mental not to be into her. Even Brayden had to take a cold shower here and there just to save the friendship he cared about so much. "Oookay..." he said as he looked around. Girls girls girls. There were just so many of them. "Maybe you should just pick someone for me, you never approve of who I pick," he teased, even though it was true. He should probably be focusing on things other than girls anyways, what with the band and all. They were really getting serious about writing and recording their own stuff now.

Wes smiled at Emma as it seemed like she was blushing. It only made her prettier. The thing about growing up the way that they did, it's that age was such a funny thing. You grew up in a world where you were sort of forced to be a little more mature. Unless you were in the Madden's household...but even Brayden and AJ were a heck of a lot more put together than they might have thought they were. But it allowed you access to things that made you appear older, you didn't really relate to kids your own age. So yes, Emma was young. But she'd also shared a lot of the same experiences as he had. And honestly, that was important. Girls his age in college didn't really relate to him that well. "Yes, ma'am, I am," he said with a nod in Emma's direction. "Miss Annabelle seemed a little persistent that I make it out tonight. But to be honest I only know a handful of people here." he said looking up over the crowd before gazing back at Emma. "Think you might be able to keep me a little company tonight?" he asked, letting his lopsided smirk take over his face. Just because he knew they couldn't date yet, didn't mean he though it was okay for some of these boys to try and get their paws on her. "AJ darlin..." he said looking over at her. "Why do you gotta let Ian keep embarrassing himself like that? Poor boy... You should at least give him a dance or something," he said, shaking his head with faux sympathy for the boy who was now chatting up a Collins. "You know Anabelle always says that you have to pick the guy who doesn't think you're perfect.. but that knows you aren't and still likes you for it anyhow," he said, thinking for a moment. "Though.. she does think Uncle Luke is perfect so i'm not sure how solid her logic is..."
