Blake kept busy with washing the dishes, pressing the metal scrubber harder against the pans than she probably needed to. Really she didn’t know why she was putting so much effort into it anyway, she had a dishwasher. But it just felt like some type of way for her to take her aggression out. But why did she feel so agitated? It wasn’t like she could possibly understand what her parents were going through. It just made her aware of how invested in this Logan really was. This was real for him. Maybe, just maybe, he saw her the same way that she saw him. But the idea of that was ridiculous. She looked up when he finally entered the kitchen and continued to do the dishes, albeit a little bit lazier than she had before. For a moment she thought that maybe he was going to help her with the dishes, but she was sort of brought from her own thoughts as she watched him singing along quietly. She wondered how many little moments like this they’d had. And at the same time she was overwhelmed with the fact that he had fought so hard to keep those moments; and here she had been pushing him away, keeping him at a “safe” distance. How selfish could she have been. Blake looked down, taking the yellow gloves off of her hands and setting them on the counter before she picked up her own scotch glass and made her way over to him. “Did I ever tell you about the time that um…” she said, narrowing her eyebrows with whether or not she should tell this story. “It was our first week at the house… and the first time I saw you.. ever.” she said, shaking her head slightly. “Your mother had brought us a welcoming present. So to thank her, my mother sent me over with something to eat. She made an apple tart that was ….horrid. So I made a blueberry crumble and brought it over.” she said, smiling softly. “ You were fighting with your dad.” she said, giving a small nod. “I’d never seen two people so angry. Honestly, I thought you were going to rip each others throats out,” she said, taking in a slight breath. “Anyway, I didn’t know who he was at the time. But I knew that Lance meant a lot to you. And I knew that you were someone who fought for the people that you loved. You had hope in them. You were loyal.” she said, bringing her hand up to the side of his hair, tracing her thumb along the side of his jaw before she leaned into his body. “ I never thought you would be that way to me..” she whispered quietly. “I know what you did,…when they couldn’t” Blake tried to turn so that she was resting against the window and tapped her fingers against his chest, distracting herself with them momentarily. She took a long drink from her scotch before clearing her throat, straightening her shoulders as she tried to speak up, “I love you, too”

Logan brought his attention to her, noticing that she had stopped doing dishes and was talking to him. Logan let a small smile form on his lips; the first time she had seen him. Logan sort of remembered that fight. He'd been too consumed in a screaming match with his dad to even notice the neighbor girl who had stopped by. But he'd taken notice of her when he had some of that blueberry crumble. Had looked past the curtains the next morning while he ate it for breakfast, staring at the house across the street that lacked a for sale sign and had a new car in the driveway. His step mom had only said the neighbor girl brought the crumble over, but Logan had watched her out his window, sitting on her porch with a guitar, a notebook, and a steaming cup of tea. Anyone who made dessert that good was on his radar. "Mmm, that blueberry crumble," he said quietly, "Ate that every day for breakfast for like a week," he smiled at the thought. She had Logan's attention now, telling him she knew about the hospital thing. "Oh," he said frowning at her, "I'm so sorry." He was actually, terribly sorry. He hadn't wanted her to know. He was sorry she had found out like that, "Guess you over heard our conversation." Logan looked down at his scotch, wondering if she was mad he didn't tell her, even though he knew that if she hadn't over heard it, he probably wouldn't have. He sighed, content to have her close again. He wasn't expecting her to say it, was surprised even. But then again, maybe he wasn't surprised. It made sense. Was she realizing now how crazy about her he was? So crazy that he would throw money at every doctor in arms reach, obviously. She made him do crazy things. Maybe he knew all along she loved him, maybe she hadn't stopped. Had just forgotten about it, and had recently remembered she felt that way. Logan nodded, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulled her against his chest, kissing her forehead, "Mmm," was all he could muster up. It was possible he knew all along, he just needed to give her a little push to get there herself. He held her tightly, frowning a bit, "Don't be mad at them." Logan didn't want to have to look at her parents the way she might be looking at them now. She was right about Lance; how much Logan cared about him. He'd seen the look on his brother's face when he realized their dad had just given up on him. It wasn't a pleasant road to be on.

Blake shook her head as he said that she shouldn’t be mad at them, or that he didn’t want her to be. Honestly, it didn’t really make that much of a difference. There was so much going on since the hospital that she could barely keep a lot of it straight. Was she selfish to admit that a time or two she had wished that they hadn’t tried so hard on her? That they just let her go? It just felt like she had so much pressure on her. What if she wasn’t the same girl she had been before? It was a lot of expectations to try and uphold, and sometimes it was just entirely overwhelming. But then there were moments, like this, standing in a dirty kitchen with Coldplay playing in the background and what felt like the whole universe just within reach, that she knew she was grateful that Logan hadn’t given up on her. And she also knew, that because of that, she owed everything in herself to not give up on him ever either. She smiled as he kissed her forehead before resting against his chest. Mackenzie was probably going to hear about every detail of this tomorrow, so it was crucial that she not forget a single moment of it. “Logan,” she said, attempting to break the silence. “How many times have you seen me drunk?” she questioned, picking up the glass again to take another drink.

Logan shrugged, mulling it over in his head the number of times he'd seen Blake drunk. They'd had a pretty eventful five years together, not counting before that, before everything, before they became 'them'. Logan and Blake. Before they could call themselves 'us'. Back when Logan could catch Blake trying to get into her second story window in high school so her parents didn't know she'd been drinking. Blake didn't always make great decisions when she was drunk, but they had a history of being to Logan's benefit. At least 90% of the time. "I have seen you drunk a time or two... or few." He nodded, letting a smile form on his lips. "But it's been my experience that your drunk decisions, however questionable, have often benefited me in some way or another," he teased, laughing slightly. "Once, you learned the entire dance from my Lovestruck video, and performed it with Mackenzie at a bonfire. You may or may not have been drinking." He said, knowing damn well that she had been, and also what other events happened that evening many moons again. Him and Blake, again. Shane and Kat started hanging out that night. Riley and Mackenzie met that night. That all felt so long ago.

Blake smiled as she watched him, trying not to put too much thought into how much exactly she had already drank this evening. He said he loved her. And he smelled so good. It sounded like a Mackenzie thing for her and Blake to learn choreography to a video. Blake bit the inside of her lip, tapping her finger against his chest. Her own heart probably felt like it was about to leap out of her own. “You know what dance moves you have that I really like?” she questioned, starting to unbutton his shirt. “The ones from your ‘Every Night’ video,” she said, licking the corner of her lips before she looked up and pushed the fabric off of his shoulders. “Maybe you can show me,” she said, holding her breath as she looked up into his eyes. Logan being shirtless should be a crime, really. The Logan she remembered going on runs outside, or doing yard work had certainly...developed. She leaned away from the window, setting the whiskey glass down before stepping out of her heels before brushing them off to the side.

Logan had been trying for weeks to keep things light between them, to salvage her poor, poor cheeks from burning scarlet red on a regular basis. But now she was touching his chest and biting her lip and he just.... really wasn't sure if he could handle it any longer. Maybe it was the scotch, or she was just getting brave, or she had realized he was really serious about his life with her. But whatever it was that was happening to her, the anticipation was killing him. Blake asked him if he knew which dance moves she really liked. "Which ones," he managed to ask, clenching his jaw as she unbuttoned his shirt. He hadn't been sure if she had watched any of his musicals since being out of the hospital; he'd been sort of afraid to ask. He had an answer now. This Blake, the one that was taking his shirt off, this was the Blake he knew better than anyone. He really missed this side of her. Oh, he sure did. Logan didn't bother trying to prevent the grin that was forming, lopsided, licking his lips as he set his scotch glass down, "I could show you," he nodded, watching her as she kicked her shoes off. This was where she made a choice; she could either pull the breaks now, or forever hold her peace. He searched her eyes for any sort of objection, not finding anything of the sort. His hands were moving around her body, finding the small of her back, pulling her close, his eyes staring into hers. His face was so close to hers and he could feel her breath dancing across his lips. He moved past her lips, leaning close to her ear, talking quietly, "I'll show you whatever you like," as his arms snaked around her body. Logan leaned down just slightly, leaving soft kisses on her neck, his weakness. She didn't remember that, but maybe he could show her. Logan pulled her back, further from the window as his hands found their way under the hem of her shirt, in her hair, and he kissed her again, starting up where they left off in the pantry.

It was a strange thing, really, to realize that you wanted to be intimate with someone and know that you interpreted it as the first time, but really it had happened so often. Often enough that his hands found the small of your back like they belonged there and were at home. And then to have him so close to you, looking in your eyes with nothing separating the two of you.. it was overwhelming. Just when she thought that he was going to kiss her again, his lips nestled close to her ear, telling her how he would show her whatever she liked. A quick breath escaped her lips as she tried to steady herself. There were two Logan’s that she knew. The one that she had admired from a distance, bumbling around like a fool, and the Logan who had been patient and kind following the hospital. This Logan.. the forward, passionate, pressing his lips against her neck Logan was not one that she felt prepared for. And really she only had herself to blame. Any one who listened to his music or watched his videos could tell he was a passionate person. How fortunate it was for her that she was with someone that knew her better than she knew herself, because as his lips moved across her neck, the tingling sensation lingered there being met by the heat of blood rushing to the surface. As he started to move away from the window Blake knew realistically there was only one way for this evening to end. The rain began to pour down against the window, filling the silence as Blake brought her hand to Logan’s jaw, turning his head upward so that she could kiss him again as she tried to fumble her way through walking upstairs.

They were fumbling around like teenagers, barely making it upstairs due to the fact that their lips had glued themselves together. Logan finally thought, to hell with it, reaching down behind her knees and scooped her up into his arms at the top of the stairs, carrying her the rest of the way to their bedroom. Logan only ever came in here for clothes and to shower nowadays and that was when he was working around her schedule so they weren't getting in each others way. No worries about being in her way tonight. On the contrary, Logan was trying to get all up in her way right now. The fact that Blake was alive and healthy to him was enough to want to ravish her but then count the fact that he had waited this long and been such a good boy so to speak, and she was being so forward. Logan laid her down on the bed, pushing her shirt over her head as he lay over her, kissing her neck, her cheeks, her lips, her collar bones, hands all over like it was the most natural thing in the world. She had on this skirt that was just in the way, but he was so conflicted between getting her clothes off and trying to suck her face off. It was almost kind of strange to think that while he was sort of feeding this hunger he'd been ignoring, she was seeing a side of him that she hadn't yet. She'd seen Logan as the boss, Logan the friend, Logan the patient guy, the loyal side to him, the kind side, the Logan that was someone's daddy, but she hadn't really seen this Logan.

It was a little past 7 AM the next morning. Emma had woken up but not for long and was sleeping again peacefully. Maybe she knew her parents needed a morning together before hurricane Kenzie showed up. The rain was still lightly pouring outside and hopefully it was giving Logan a good nights rest. Or hopefully he got one at all…. She pushed the sleeves of his shirt up on her elbows, picking up the tray that she had placed his breakfast on. She wished she could remember the last time she made him breakfast in bed. Clearly it was something they did otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to find the tray. After carefully bringing it upstairs she set it on the nightstand next to him. He looked so peaceful sleeping in his bed again. How many nights had he gone without getting good rest? Was this the first peaceful night he’d had? Blake went to the record player, picking out a Jack Johnson vinyl that was sitting on top. She quickly put it on, letting the needle find its groove as she did the same by sliding back into bed. After curling up in the sheets she rest her arm over his stomach, laying her hand on his chest before gently kissing it. She looked up, knowing that she should let him sleep. But it was like every time she turned around she was getting to learn something new about him. It amazed her how not scary this was.. laying in bed with him, listening to the rain and Jack Johnson. Something about him was magnetic, and after last night she knew that everything about them was still in sync. That hadn’t changed. Unless.. maybe it had. It suddenly occurred to her that she had no idea how she performed compared to..well herself. Blake narrowed her eyebrows, resting her chin against his chest as she let herself get lost in her own thoughts.
