Jaxon took his cookie, biting into it so he could hold it while he went to a little station and added cinnamon to the top of his hot chocolate. He quickly made his way over to the table, attempting to pull Alexa’s chair out for her before she sat down. He scrunched his nose, knowing that his fan base might not like the idea that his sound was changing. “I never really liked the sound that we put out in the first place. But I think I didn’t really get to make a lot of choices when I started out. You have to wait until you’re recognizable before you can start calling shots. The label I was at had a very distinct idea for what they wanted me to sound like, wear, say,” he said, chewing a bit of the cookie. “Logan told me I could do what I wanted… To be honest, I’m not sure this will be what he is expecting,” he said, looking up with a nervous expression before smiling. “If you ever need help with an interview, just let me know,” he said, thinking back on everything she had said about the line of work she wanted to do. “I’m not exactly a Renner in the land of music, but I’d be happy to sit down with you,” he said with a grin, taking another large bite of his cookie. “You’re still in school… Those high school boys must be chasing after you,”

Logan Renner seemed to be a man of his word and when he said you could do whatever you wanted, he meant it. It seemed to AJ that even if you didn't quite do what Logan was expecting you to do, it was still probably whatever he wanted from you. He had a way of doing that, figuring out the right way to get artists to write the music they were meant to write. "Logan trusts his artists to make the music they want to make, that's what he expects. He wouldn't have signed you if he didn't trust you," she added, as if it were that simple. Regarding the interview, she replied, "That would be amazing," she said quickly and then stopped to rewind, "I mean- yeah, that, would be really cool." Very, very smooth. AJ took a bite of her cookie and a sip of her cocoa, hearing the rain softly beat against the shop window. AJ let out a laugh when he commented about high school boys chasing after her, "Oh, they try," she said setting her cookie down, "But I usually go for older guys." It wasn't a lie; AJ had never dated someone her own age.

Logan had been one of the best people that Jaxon had ever worked with. He couldn't really argue with what she was saying. But Logan trusting him actually put a lot more pressure on him. He didn't want to disappoint when someone had this much faith in him. Which, really, might be Logan's plan all along. Put enough pressure on a coal and it becomes a diamond, except he gets to do it while looking like the relaxed and supportive boss that he truly was. He couldn't help but smirk as she seemed eager to do an interview before playing it more cool. He gave a single nod, taking a sip of his drink. As she mentioned that she went for older guys, he lift his eyebrow slightly, looking up at her from over the top of his hot chocolate. "I'm sure your parents love that." he said, narrowing his eyebrows. They were too laid back. "..I'm sure Brayden loves that," he corrected, finding it mildly amusing that in their family dynamics her brother was the one most likely to get himself in a tizzy about the guys that she entertained herself with. "You have a little..." he said, gesturing to her face slightly before he reached over, placing his thumb against the edge of her lip to wipe away some of the whipped cream that had landed upon the corner of her lip. "Perfect," he said, looking down at the napkin to wipe the whipped cream on it. "I know that you say you like to eat a lot of popcorn, but perhaps you can find it in you to share this time," he said, putting the last bite of hot chocolate in his mouth before standing up so that he could take her back to the car.

AJ finished off the last large bite of her cookie as Jaxon made a comment about her parents loving her attraction to older men. She made a face, still chewing the cookie, thinking about how her parents honestly didn't know how to deal with a teenage daughter; especially her dad. Jaxon immediately rethought his statement and sarcastically added that Brayden must really love that, and AJ smiled, keeping her mouth shut until she swallowed and tapping her noise with her finger as if to say, you got it. AJ finished the last little sip of her hot chocolate, startled a little when he reached over to wipe some whipped cream from the corner of her lip, "Oh... thanks." She was beginning to wonder what persona he put on around other people in the studio; he always came off like he had a huge ego and kind of an asshole attitude but since they'd left the studio he'd been nothing but polite. She laughed slightly, standing up with him, "I suppose I could share." AJ followed him outside, quickly as the rain hadn't really let up, not surprised when he opened her door before she could. "On a scale of one to cardiac arrest, what's you're preferred amount of buttery goodness?"

Jaxon stepped out onto the street, surveying how rainy it still was, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it had let up. He looked over his shoulder, offering a smile to Alexa before opening his passenger door again for her. " Oh..." he said, giving some thought to how much butter he liked, "Enough that they have to give me a defribillator as a side order. Or enough that I hope you are knowledgable in CPR," he said, laughing quietly to himself before going over to get in the car himself. He enjoyed nights like this. Honestly, he felt like he had the perfect amount of fame. He could tour, sell out shows, and had plenty of money. But he didn't seem to get bombarded by paparazzi or fans to the extent that Brayden did when he hit the streets. He could take a pretty girl out for a late night showing of Casabalanca and not have a lens down his throat. Granted, there was a chance that there would be some opportunity of said pretty girls dad..and brother.. approaching him at the label tomorrow. Not every dude had to put up with that just over a movie and hot chocolate. It was strange really, because if she were any older he would recommend taking her out for a drink. But,she was more mature than those girls despite her younger age. " But I also really like gummy bears, I'm not sure the theater has them," he said, realizing that he was going to feel like having more than popcorn during the movie. Not everything about him could be sophisticated and adult all of the time. He found himself fascinated in her opinion on things now. It wasn't like you just met people everyday with pretty spot on similar interests. He'd released a video today; and he wanted her opinion, but at the same time he was a bit shy in that aspect. As much of an act he put on for cameras and at the studio, his work made him anxious. Was it enough to keep him at Taboo, or was it enough to get Tyson's attention? Was it enough to get Alexa's? There was a moment of silence, Jaxon realizing that he was probably analyzing every situation too much. His phone had gone off what felt like a few more hundred times from the same girl bothering him. This...this didn't bother him. "Hey you think you might..." he said, starting off in a questioning tone before looking at Alexa while driving. " I'm going to take you out for dinner," he said definitively. It wasn't a question. And he didn't necessarily mean tonight. But, he would.

AJ laughed when he said she might need to know how to do CPR, but didn't reply. She would love to give him CPR, and other things. But AJ wasn't in the business of moving fast. She was fairly straight with guys about her interest in them, but she still expected them to make an effort. Je ne suis pas facile, she thought. She did however have a serious sweet tooth, which was funny because he didn't realize how many points hot chocolate and cookies earned him. "Ooh, maybe sour patch kids, too," she added, her mouth watering already thinking about the puckery flavor you had to endure before you got to the sweet inside. That made her smile at the truth in that statement regarding whatever new relationship was forming here. She looked over at him, as he had stopped talking and noticed he looked like he was thinking about something and decided not to ask. His phone had gone off for about the hundredth time but he never really looked at it. AJ wondered if it was still that girl. She thought if she was trying to get a hold of a guy and he had been ignoring her for hours, she would have stopped trying by now. It wasn't that difficult to notice when a guy was uninterested. AJ learned that from Brayden; if a guy was into you, you would know. He'd make that effort. She sighed seeing the rain was beginning to clear and he started to ask her a question. he stopped himself, seemingly changing direction and said instead with more finality that he was going to take her to dinner. Well, then. She figured he meant another time, which was nice because that meant he wanted to spend time her again some other time and said, "I'd like that." They'd pulled up to the theater and found a place to park. Jaxon came over to open her door and she hopped out, feeling the warm air after the rain had lifted and returned his coat to him, "Thank you," and it was left in the car as they headed over to get in the ticket line. "Glad you finally noticed me," she smirked, knowing a lot of it was just that he was focused on his work, but all the same. Either way, he ought to know whatever interest he was showing was mutual. "I wouldn't think twice about giving you CPR."
