Avery smiled when Jackson thanked her for the ice cream, as if she had a choice. Of course she wouldn't have forgotten. "No one here deserves ice cream more than you I would think, " she laughed, trying to ignore the looks their little group was getting. "Well I think you've put in enough hard work, the clean up will still there tomorrow," she added. He should let himself have one night to relax a little. She blushed heavily though when he reached over to get some ice cream off the side of her lip, definitely ignoring the stares now. "Oh... thanks," she added, a little taken by surprise at the proximity. "Yeah I wouldn't want to cause a scene with that carelessness," she laughed slightly. Jack and Grayson agreed on drinks, Clarke chiming in that she could go for one too. Just as Avery was about to agree, Christine presented herself, looking at Avery like she was scum on the bottom of her shoe. Avery sighed. it was embarrassing a little, for Christine too though. There were some times when Avery wondered if that woman had any tact at all. And of all the things, drunk Christine was the last thing any of them needed right now. If Avery wasn't so against drawing attention to herself, she might've spoke up, but she knew it was no use. Ans as soon as she started poking jabs at Jackson, Grayson was pulling her aside and trying to talk her down. They had such a weird relationship. She knew they didn't much care for each other, or at least didn't have a whole lot in common. And for as much as Christine picked on him when they were younger (and now), Grayson certainly tolerated a lot without blowing a gasket at her. If there were every a better display of life long patience, Avery had never seen it. Being family sure said a lot around here, even when your family sucked. It could've been a lot worse, but it was already enough to get people's attention and Avery could feel the eyes watching the situation. It was a little sad honestly, as Avery knew most people in town liked her, and Christine speaking negatively about Avery wasn't helping Christine's own case. "Guess we really could use those drinks after all," she chuckled awkwardly as Grayson slowly but surely got Christine moving in a direction.
