[Natalia] Best Friends, Co-Stars

Ethan stared down at his hands, holding his phone tightly as he tapped his thumb against the screen. Being in a movie had never been a part of his plan, at all. But Natalia was leaving New York, and.. for some reason or another the way it was talked about, it just seemed like she was down here not just for work, but with another guy. Whoever that Joel kid really was. He seemed nice enough, but come on. Natalia needed a man. Not some kid pop star. At any rate he had come down, hoping to talk to Natalia, just once. He was still trying to sort out how he felt about her, but he just flew to a completely different state because he was afraid she was going to another guy. That alone should’ve told him something. When he went to the address that Claire had for her, it wasn’t where she was staying but some offices. That was how his audition came around. He felt like an idiot, not knowing what was going on and stumbling in on it. Then the casting director wanted to see whether or not him and Natalia had chemistry. But Claire had taken care of that as well; sending in basically an entire photo album of all of them together and a DVD of home video footage. Apparently she’d been a step ahead of him the entire time. Ethan stood up and walked out of the trailer quickly, looking to make sure Natalia didn’t see him before he sent Claire a quick text message. ‘ Now or never’ he said before slipping into his back pocket.

Ethan walked onto the set, looking around at everyone who was working and sure as hell looked like they knew what they were doing. He just felt lost. “ Excuse me, do you know where Natalia is?” he said, stopping one of the stage crew who was walking by while looking down at their clipboard. After he was pointed in the right direction he took in a nervous breath. This could go so many ways. He just hoped she wasn’t pissed. After stepping onto the set he looked around the room again, trying to spot Natalia. Shouldn’t be difficult, she was the most beautiful girl in whatever room she was in. He smiled as he saw her, making his way over. “ Tell me I’m not the first to visit you,” he said, leaning down to wrap his arms around her. She was so tiny compared to him, but it sort of made him like her all the more. She was beautiful, fragile, smart, funny. Everything he wanted to protect. He squeezed her tightly before he leaned away slightly. “ Wow you look great, Natalia,” he said, smiling as he looked down at her, she always did.

CUT! Natalia got out of the car and closed the door, "Was that better? I feel like it was." she said as she walked over to a few of the crew people, "Yeah, you nailed it." Natalia smiled and grabbed her water bottle. "30 minutes people" the director called out and Natalia headed into the house. She made her way around the cameras and people and into the kitchen. Of course it was full of real food, she made sure of that. This was her place to come when they had breaks. The tent was always crowded, so she made this her designated area. Natalia took out a bag of Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips and a fruit punch Gatorade and sat down at the table. Her script was brought to her by a crew person and she smiled, "Thank you." Natalia opened the bag and started eating while she read over the script. She heard some of the "extra" girls talking about the new actor "..i heard he was really cute and really built." "Well I was told he had some type of accent, you kn0w how I am on accents.." Natalia smirked and then turned her head, "All I know is he better get on set soon. These scenes need to be finished." she turned back around and ate a few more chips. She heard the giggles continue and she just shook her head.

Natalia rolled up the bag and stood up. She walked over to the cabinet and put the chips back in there. She picked up her Gatorade as she walked into the living room. Natalia sat down on the couch, with her script in hand and looked around. Everyone was smiling. This atmosphere was indeed a happy one. Natalia loved happy sets like this. She hated when everybody was always yelling at each other. That just brought the negativity around. Natalia looked back down at the script, re reading her lines for the next scene. Natalia looked up just in time to see Ethan walking towards her. She immediately smiled and stood up to hug him. She closed her eyes and just took a breath of him in, she missed him. Natalia wrapped her arms around him tighter when he did and then released him "You are actually. I ca..can't believe you're here." she smiled again when he complimented her. "Come on," she said grabbing in his hand, "lets go on the porch." Natalia lead him through the house to the porch. She sat down at the table and then looked over at Ethan. still smiling, "What are you doing here? Not that it's a bad thing..." It was a great thing, Natalia actually did miss Ethan.

Ethan laughed as he wrapped his arms around Natalia and hugged her back. He followed her when she took his hand in her own and led him out to the porch. “ Made this place home?” he questioned, giving a small smirk before he sat down beside her. He looked over at her as she asked what he was doing there. “ I was in the neighborhood,” he teased, looking up at her to give her a crooked grin. Ethan looked up at a few of the people that had been around them, hopeful that they didn’t watch him too much. He didn’t want Natalia to figure out right away that he was her co-star. He just wanted to enjoy her company for right now, see her excitement later. “ Are you having fun on set so far?” he questioned, looking out before he turned his head to look back at her.

Natalia really was a beautiful girl, even when she was wearing something for her character that she would never wear in real life. He smiled as he looked at the way her hair was styled and chuckled to himself quietly. “ What is this?” he teased, reaching his hand over and playfully picking up her messy braid before he dropped it back against her shoulder. He leaned back in his seat, wondering how much time he had, wondering who would step in to mess up their conversation. Would Claire send Natalia a text to tip her off, would someone come up to steal Natalia away.

Natalia smiled when Ethan asked if she made this place home, "Yeah, well sorta. I had to if I was going to be here for the next 2 or 3 months." She laughed, "Oh that's the reason? I thought I was special enough for you to just come see me." she teased with a smile. It was great to see Ethan. She was glad that he was the first one to come down and see her. but she hoped that he would be back down again after this visit. She took a breath in of the fresh ocean waves rolling in the distance and then turned back to Ethan. "Yeah, I'm having a great time. Everyone here is great and always happy. There is one issue though. I still haven't met my co-star and these scenes with him need to be finished and mostly started and.." she smiled, "Sorry, I'm ranting. I'm sure you don't want to hear that." Natalia bit her lip and then looked around.

She looked back to Ethan when he picked up her braid. She smiled and laughed a little. "I kind of like it, it is a bit messy, but it's kinda cute." she played with the end of her braid as she spoke and then let it hit her shoulder again. Natalia looked back over at Ethan, "So, when did you get here? I'm glad you came to visit me." she smiled again. Natalia brought her legs up onto the chair and folded them into a pretzel. She took a sip of her Gatorade and placed it back on the table.

“ You? Special enough?” Ethan teased before he looked at her, giving a sideways grin. She was beautiful even when she was dressed down. It was sort of unfair for every other woman around her. He sat up slightly, trying to make himself comfortable before he shook his hand out over his hair. “Cuddling with Anthony grew tiresome, so I figured I’d find someone a bit easier to spoon with,”he said, pointing off on his fingers. “ Can’t with Claire, that’s gross. Stefan might kill me if I just put a fingertip on Hillary, Stefan would enjoy it too much, and Dalton would like.. ninja chop my entire arm off and then tell me to walk it off,” he said, laughing quietly under his breath. Ethan smiled as he heard Natalia talking about her co-star. “ He’s probably got some sort of God complex and thinks he walks on water… don’t let him get away with that nonsense. You’re Natalia Richmond. Who’s he? No one in comparison to you…” he said , lifting his eyebrow at Natalia while trying to give an authoritative tone.

“ Actually, I got here a few da-“ Ethan started but then stopped as the director came up to them. ‘ Fantastic, Natalia. I see you found out who your co-star was” he said, grinning as he approached them with his hands on his hips. ‘ Yeah we saw the chemistry on that dvd your little Australian friend sent,’ he said nodding at them. ‘ Alright, well. We actually want to get started, so if you guys don’t mind going down to set so we can have them run into each other. Literally.’.Ethan put his hands on the side of the chair before he stood up. “ Shirtless right?” he asked casually, lifting his hand behind his back to rip his shirt off before he tossed it to the side of his chair. Ethan smiled again before he looked down at Natalia and offered his hand out to her to help her stand up. “ What do you say? Spend a few months with me?” he grinned, waiting for her to either hug him or hit him.

Natalia laughed and smiled back at him. Ethan was gorgeous. Everything about him was gorgeous, that smile, his hair, his accent, everything. Everything about him got to her. In a good way of course. She laughed as he listed off the people he couldn't cuddle with and then laughed harder when he got to Dalton, "Dalton would look at you with that look he gives people to get them away from him and tell you that you had 5 seconds to get away from him...then the chop would come into play." It was crazy how well Natalia knew the entire Fox family. Claire was her best friend and Ethan and Dalton were her older brothers, being over at their house everyday brought Natalia closer to the whole family. As Dalton got older, he grew away from them, but Natalia, Claire and Ethan all stayed close. Thats why it was so great to see Ethan. She felt better when she had someone close to her around her. Natalia smirked when Ethan said her co-star was no one compared to her, "Right now he is no one. I just wish I knew who he was." She sighed and looked out at the water.

Natalia opened her gatorade and took a sip as the director came over. She spit the drink out of her mouth when she heard him say Ethan was her co-star. She coughed a bit and someone came over to her with a towel. Natalia put the bottle on the table and wiped the juice off. Natalia's eyes were glued to Ethan as he stood up. How could he not tell her? How could Claire not tell her? How did he even get the audition? Natalia crossed her arms, still glaring at Ethan. Natalia stood up without taking his hand. She punched his arm, "Really?" She stared at him for a few more moments and then smiled. She jumped on him with her arms around his neck and then dropped back down on the floor. "Looks like I have no other choice." she said sarcastically when he asked about spending a few months with him. "Okay, now guys." Natalia smiled and then followed the director down to the beach.

“ The only person he’s really lovey-dovey with is Claire,” he said, giving a small laugh. Ethan watched Natalia hesitantly, with his hand held out to her but he smiled nervously as she stood up without taking it. Just as quickly she was punching his shoulder, causing him to laugh because if she was trying to hurt him than she had the fighting strength of a hamster. “ I wanted to tell you, but I wanted to surprise you more” he said honestly before he looked down at he and grinned, wrapping his arm around her tightly so that he could hug her. “ Don’t be mad, Richmond.” Ethan dropped his arms from around her before he wrapped his arm over her shoulders and started heading out towards the volleyball set up. “ Look, Claire wanted to tell you. I think it was harder for her to keep the secret than it was for me. But.. lately she’s been kind of distant, so I guess that sort of benefited me a bit. I honestly hope you’re not mad,” he said, looking down at her with a soft smile. The last thing he wanted was to have signed himself to a contract that kept him here for the next few months, if she didn’t want him here.

Ethan dropped his arm from around Natalia’s shoulders and walked over to where one of the stage crew was setting up his mark. He grinned from his stance and waved at Natalia, mouthing ‘hi’ to her before he looked over his shoulder. People were already staring at them oddly. Was it weird that they were so close? Did people assume that they were dating? ..Would that even be so bad? Ethan licked his lips before he looked back over in Natalia’s direction. “ Sorry about this, love. It might hurt a bit” he said, trying to get the last of his Australian accent out as thick as he could before he would have to muster up his best American accent for the following scene as soon as the director yelled action.

"That's because she's the baby. The baby is always loved the most." Natalia smiled. "You know I hate surprises....especially ones like these. You let me sit there and bash you." Natalia sighed when Ethan told her not to be mad, how could she be mad? He did this, for her. "I'm not mad, I just wish I would've been in the loop." Natalia nodded her head when Ethan mentioned Claire, "She does seem to be very distant. I mean, we barely talk. I know we're both busy, but it stinks not having your best friend to talk to." Natalia looked up at him as he smiled down at her and she smiled, "Of course I'm not mad." she wrapped her arms around him once more to give him a hug and then let go.

Natalia walked over to where she had to go and just ignored the looks she was getting from some of the people. Natalia got in her spot and looked over at Ethan, she waved back. "Bring it." she smiled and looked over at those same two extras that she had heard talking before, "You know him?" Natalia smiled, "Yeah, we go way back." she looked back over at Ethan. "Is he single?" "No..."she said quickly. Natalia looked back around, "Well, yes. Sorry." she turned back around and sighed. She awaited the director's word.

ACTION! Natalia stood on the bridge looking down at the carnival on the beach. She headed down and walked to the smoothie stand and bought a strawberry shake. Natalia walked away and avoided the carnies the best she could. Natalia saw the beach volleyball going on and decided to check it out. A few little kids ran past her covered in mud and she just smiled and kept going towards the game. There was very little room for Natalia to get by the game. Before she knew it, she was bumped into, falling to the ground with her shake spilling all over her.

Ethan heard the director yell action, but he still watched Natalia for a few more moments before he turned towards the extras that were playing sand volleyball with him. After putting on his sunglasses he looked over towards the kid that was going to spike the ball and then continued on playing the game. Every so often he looked over his shoulder to see where Natalia was so he knew when he could run into her and after raising his right hand to hit the ball over the net he stumbled back behind his feet and fell against her. He did his best not to laugh, seeing as how the cameras were rolling and stood up awkwardly, keeping his hands on Natalia as she stood up. “ I’m sorry… uhh… you okay?” he questioned, using his American accent in front of her for the first time. Ethan watched her as she said her lines back, but he couldn’t help but keep a grin on his face. He was pretty sure the character he was playing wasn’t sorry for running into her, and he wasn’t either. Any excuse to talk to a pretty girl, right? “ I’m sorry,” he repeated again, hoping she wouldn’t mock him later for his accent.

When Natalia turned and walked away, he enjoyed the view of watching her leave him for a few moments before he ran up to catch up with her. She was so going to mock him later for this. He’d had no idea what he was auditioning for , what all it would take. Dalton and Claire would probably watch the movie and laugh their asses off. Of course Natalia was talented, how could she not be? Everything she did came from her talent. Ethan was just a kid, in college, who had followed the girl that he may or may not be in love with down to the south and got himself roped up in doing a movie. Probably needed to find a new way to explain why he auditioned for the movie when it came time for interviews. “ I’m just over here so the other team can catch a breath. Why don’t you come watch?” he questioned, smiling down at her. It seemed like things were going to turn in Will’s favor until Natalia smiled, passing up his offer and walked away again. Ethan sighed, turning to watch Natalia walk away until the director yelled cut. Ethan smiled instantly, running his hand over his hair as he walked towards Natalia’s direction. “ Well I’d say you did pretty damn well, mate” he grinned, looking down at her. A few months on the beach with her was going to be the easiest job he’d ever have in his entire life.

Natalia hoped they would get this scene right the first time because she really didn't want to be knocked into the ground again and have to spill the shake all over her again, not that she didn't enjoy having Ethan basically all over her, this just wasn't how she would want it to be, again, and again. When Natalia heard Ethan talk without his accent, she almost lost it. She smiled and bit her lip to hide the smile. She didn't want the cameras to pick up on that, hopefully they wouldn't She composed herself as he helped her up. "Well I would rather drink my milkshake than wear it, but I'm fine." Ethan was doing really well, he was really in the character Will, maybe it was because he was holding back a laugh too, but she couldn't tell. He apologized a second time, "Ya look it." she had a fake smile and then let it go, "Forget it." she turned and walked away, keeping the same, stern face her character Ronnie is supposed to have.

Ethan came running up behind her still talking. It was so weird for her to hear him talking without his Australian accent. She wanted to laugh so badly, but she had to keep it together. She was a professional. It was so hard though. She had known Ethan for such a long time and not once had she heard him talk like this. She wondered what Claire and Dalton would say when they heard it. Ethan said his lines and Natalia faked another smile, "Wow," she shook her head, "pushy and conceited." He invited her to watch and she smiled for a few seconds and said, "I'll pass...Thank you." she gave him a look and then walked away. CUT! Great job everybody. Natalia looked over at Ethan and started laughing. He walked over to her and she couldn't stop laughing. Natalia bent down with her hands on her knees and took a deep breath in and then let it out. She stood back up, composed, and looked at Ethan, "Thank you, You weren't too bad yourself." she smiled. Some of the crew came and took the cup from her and gave her a towel. She wiped the shake out of her hair and off of her clothes and then looked back up at Ethan, "You do that accent so well." she giggled.

Ethan stood with his arms crossed over his chest, shaking his head at Natalia who was hunched over and getting her laughing fit out of the way. “ Honestly?” he questioned with a small smile across his lips as he looked down at Natalia. “ Come on it’s not that funny,”he said, giving a small laugh under his breath. He looked over his shoulder at some of the crew, where the director was looking at the playback of what they had just shot before he turned his attention back to Natalia. He looked down at himself shirtless still, seeing no reason in putting a shirt on again yet. He might have to run into Natalia again. “ So from an artistic perspective…” he said, his grin growing as he watched her, “ Ronnie sort of has the hots for Will. I saw you looking at my body like I was on display,” he said, trying to sound offended before he brought his hands up over his chest.

Ethan wasn’t sure how long they’d be out there today, but now that Natalia knew he was her co-star he kind of just wanted to spend the rest of the day exploring with her a little bit. As far as he knew, the next scene was at the carnival and that wasn’t until later tonight. “ Maybe they’ll give us a bit of a break,” he said off handedly before he walked away from Natalia to go talk to the director. He wasn’t sure how this acting thing worked, but in his life he was pretty good in general about smooth talking people into what he wanted. After talking to him for a few minutes, Ethan made his way back over to Natalia. “ I was thinking about hitting the beach for a little bit. If you want to come with you should meet me there in a few minutes,” he grinned before he leaned down to hug her. “ It’s good to see you, kid” He held onto her tightly for a few moments before he went to his trailer to change into his own pair of clothes. If he was going to be on the beach then he wasn’t going to ruin the sets clothes by wearing them. After he changed quickly he headed down to the beach, walking along the shore with his hands in his front pockets, trying to figure out what in the hell he was doing here exactly. It was good to see Natalia; he obviously liked her a lot, but enough to do a feature film? She had this power over him and he wasn’t sure just how strong it was.

Natalia smiled, "I'm sorry. You're right. Its not that funny. I'm just not use to hearing you talk like that. I won't do it again." She took a drink of some water and brought her attention over to the director who was smiling as he watched the playback. Natalia knew that was a good thing. Still smiling, she looked back to Ethan and scoffed, "Don't flatter yourself, I was just in character and Ronnie totally thinks Will is repulsive." She laughed and finished off her water. "I hope so," she said, "I've already done 2 scenes and this one today. I think we'll get some time to ourselves." They deserved it. The director seemed pleased with what they had just filmed. The next scene with Ronnie and Will was later at night during the carnival. Natalia watched Ethan go over to talk to the director. She hoped that he would give them time to spend with eachother. Things were so confusing between them. She had feelings for him, but she had no idea how he felt about her.

Natalia sighed and then smiled as Ethan walked back towards her. He said hge was going down to the beach and she felt herself become happier. Natalia hugged him back, "I'm glad you're here." She let him go anf watched him walk towards the trailers. "Natalia!" she turned to look in that direction, "why don't you go get some rest or go to the beach or something. You deserve it."[\I] "sounds great, thank you." Natalia headed back to her trailer and walked inside. She closed the door behind her and plopped down on her bed in there. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in and slowly let it out. Natalia opened her eyes and looked out the small window, she saw Ethan heading down to the beach and she sat up. Natalia changed into a skirt and shirt of her own and took the braid out of her hair. She left her trailer and headed down to the beach. Natalia ran up behind Ethan and jumped on his back. "Hey there." She placed a kiss on his cheek and then got back on the ground. "You enjoying yourself?"
