Hunter parked his truck outside Mandi's building, shutting the door and going inside. This city was a little too big for Hunter Riggins, but when he'd decided to be a firefighter, he wanted to do it somewhere that needed it. If it weren't for that, he'd have never moved to the city. But, at the same time, his brother was here, so that too he had to take into account. he just needed a break from the hustle and bustle. And since he know had hour long practices that he hardly had breaks from, he was taking this free weekend for granted. He'd gotten his truck from the parking garage, packed a duffel bag and was now heading to Mandi's apartment, penthouse, loft type of thing. What ever it was. It was an awfully nice building. Hunter figured that was what you got for living in the upper east side. But Mandi was really cool. After he'd kissed at that Yankee game, he didn't think much of it, but now he couldn't get her off his mind. The guys loved when she came around the firehouse with food. She'd gone out of her way to see him when his fire schedule was shitty. But when he'd tried to go out of his way to see her, she was always playing hard to get. He never knew if she was going to want to hang out or turn him down. She did keep him on his toes though.

Hunter knocked on the door, waiting for her to open up. He didn't know what she was going to say. All but a half an hour ago in the chat she'd told him she would think about going with him this weekend, but Hunter had sat back and let her toy with him for weeks. He was serious, he wanted to hang out. Get to know her, take her out. Surely she wanted to go out too?

Mandi closed the lid of her computer and looked down at her desk, wondering how she was going to find things to occupy her weekend so she didn’t actually succumb to hanging out with Hunter. He was charming, and he knew it. She didn’t want to give in so easily and be like every other girl. She dropped her legs from the chair she was sitting in and made her way to the kitchen where she made herself a cup of hot tea. After searching through her Netflix selections she had settled on Fame and curled up on her couch, half tempted to fall asleep and half tempted to call Mackenzie and see what she was up to. In all honesty she probably needed to hole up and do some homework this weekend, but that definitely wasn’t what she was going to tell Hunter. She’d need to make it sound like she was doing something exciting. Not that American Constitutional Law wasn’t exciting. She snapped out of her daze when she heard a knock at her door and narrowed her eyebrows, picking up her tea before she made her way to the door.

Mandi looked through the peephole and lifted her eyebrow as she saw Hunter. “… Hunter..” she said through the door. “ I’m in my pajamas,” she said, though that wouldn’t necessarily keep her from opening the door. He had come all this way, that would be rude. Mandi moved her hand to open the chain before she set her cup of tea down quickly and took her hair down, shaking it to add some fluff to it before she flipped it over her shoulder. She checked her breath quickly before she coughed and looked down at her cheerleading shorts and t-shirt. Rolling her eyes at herself she reached down, tearing her t-shirt off so that she was wearing just a tank top before she tossed it to the side and opened the door casually, placing her hand on her hip. “ I don’t remember ordering a Jet,” she said in reference to his pro-football career. She watched him for a moment before she smiled and tilted her head over her shoulder to gesture for him to come inside. He was really cute. Cute enough to want to make out with. But she had to remind herself that, that’s what every other girl would do. And she sure as hell wasn’t going to be something in his life that he could predict.
