Rosie wiped at her cheek as a raindrop landed perfectly, making her squint one eye, realizing it was useless as the skies seemed to have opened up completely, deciding to dump its contents everywhere. It had been horribly humid all afternoon, it was surprising they had lasted this long. Declan had gone back over to his horse, oh he was just going to leave? Rosie followed him, stomping through the grass. This argument was not over; he could not just walk away, leaving her confused as hell. Libby loved this guy; they could not be at odds. Her dad was fond of him like a son. What was Rosie supposed to do if she couldn’t get along with him? And it wasn’t even her fault! Before she could say anything else to him, Declan had turned around, brushing the hair off her face and leaned down to kiss her. Well, yelling at him was temporarily out of the question. Everything that had any logic to it whatsoever was actually temporarily out of the question. When was the last time anyone had kissed her like that? Even if someone else had kissed her like that, she was currently mentally unavailable for recall. So naturally, she did what any other normal female would and leaned into his kiss. She hadn’t liked admitting that he was very good looking, but there was no argument when he was using those good looks for even better good. Rosie brought her hands up to his chest, leaning into him. His shirt was already soaked through and she could feel every curve of his muscles, all that farm work was treating him well.
As soon as she forgot every single thing ever in the universe, he pulled away looking at her like it was her fault she made him do that. She just stood there a second in the down pour as he got on his horse. What just happened? Who was he kidding? Kiss her, leave her standing there, breathless? “Hey!” she said, running to Sadie and climbed on as fast as she could, going after him. That was not okay. Rosie followed him back to the house, leaving Sadie in the barn and ran after Declan, yelling in his direction as she caught up to him, “You cannot just do that! You think it’s okay to just kiss people? Yeah you’re right; I’m making you out to be an asshole, that was an asshole move, you… ugh!” Rosie trailed behind him into the hall, crossing her arms, yelling as he went out the front door, apologizing to her sister, “Yeah I am confused! It is your fault!” She let out a breath looking between her dad, sister, and Meredith. Libby raised her eyebrows, “Did he just kiss you?” Rosie unclenched her teeth, relaxing her shoulders, “Don’t worry about the floor, I got it.”
