Blake leaned down, pressing her lips against the side of Kenzie’s cheek as she sat in her lap. “This hair is getting wild,” she said, looking up at Logan with a small smile before she went back to working on the red ribbon in Kenzie’s hair. “ Let me down,” she whined with almost urgency before she hopped off and made her way over to Brayden, clasping her hand around his own tightly and sitting down beside him before she started adjusting her lacy socks with her free hand. Blake looked up at Logan, giving a slight shake of her head before she went back to working on her own make-up. Even from her dressing room she could hear Ed’s performance. Blake finished placing on her red lipstick before she hopped up and turned, placing her hands around Logan’s neck and stood on her toes to give him a quick kiss. This still felt surreal, all of it. The promo posters down the halls, the diet coke ads placed amongst the arena with her face on them, the shirt booths, the museum of dresses from past videos and performances downstairs, the fact that hundreds of people were working so efficiently, like the well oiled machine that Logan had sought after for this tour. It was effortless, and it was the fruition of everything she had dreamed of back in high school. She still felt like that little girl, with band aids on her fingers, pining after the most attractive guy in school. Blake reached her hand down, holding on to Logan’s as she walked down the hallway. It was her last moment of serenity and calm before her portion of the show would start. Blake leaned her body into the side of his as she walked, looking over both of their shoulders for a moment to watch Kenzie and Brayden who were following them hand in hand as well. Kenzie had stumbled for a moment, almost causing Brayden to fall down too. Ordinarily, if she was walking with Logan.. this would be the time that Kenzie would have bust into tears so that Logan would hold her. But she was with Brayden.. and if she cried, that meant someone would pick her up and take her away from him. So, no. She stood up, pushing a large amount of curls out of her face before she giggled and took Braydens hand back in her own and started clumsily walking again.
Blake stood on her toes as they reached the staircase she needed to walk up to in order to stand behind a curtain so her silhouette could take place as her entrance. It wasn’t exactly time to go up the staircase yet, so instead she turned so she was facing Logan, both of her hands holding onto his down at their sides. She smiled at him for a moment before standing on her toes to give him a quick kiss, and then basically leaned her body into his chest. Almost a hug – if she hadn’t been holding his hands down at their sides. Blake said a prayer to herself quietly, thanking God for what he had brought her and the opportunities she had before she kissed the side of Logans cheek and squeezed at his hands as tightly as she could. She took a deep breath before stepping back, putting her fists together before she bumped them gently against his, slapping her hand on his butt before she headed up the stairs. The stage was black, so she hated walking up stairs in that situation. But when she looked down, she could see a little light on the side of the stage. Just enough to illuminate so people with props and dancers and such could walk through. Which is precisely where Kenzie was, making a face of annoyance at someone before she started shaking her hand at them, gesturing for them to go away. Blake adjusted her shoulders as she heard the music starting to slowly play, though it was quickly deafened by the crowd. She made a slight face, trying to adjust her ear piece so she wouldn’t be grossly out of tune. How many of her songs were about Logan at this point? She knew 90 percent of them from this tour were, so opening with one about him as well. Which is why she had chosen State of Grace. Blake brought the microphone to her lips as the light shined on the curtain to illuminate her silhouette and started to sing out the lyrics to the best of her abilities before the curtain dropped down.
Blake Parker was not meant for selling out stadiums, bright lights, people asking for her autograph. That girl would have been crushed in this world. Because as she looked out at the crowd, all of the lights shining in her face as she slowly stepped down the staircase to come down to the main stage, she knew. Blake Renner could handle this. Blake Renner could do anything she set her mind to – but she wouldn’t be Blake Renner, without Logan. She had been mousy, quiet, unsure of herself, allowed her label to push her around, because at that time in her life, she literally believed what voice did she have? She was lucky to do anything they told her to. But when Logan came into her life, when he really came into it, he gave her a backbone and a passion. She stood up for what she believed in and what she loved more than she ever did before she could casually go up and hold his hand. That was the reason she was still here today. Otherwise, if Blake Parker had stuck around.. this industry would have swallowed her whole by now. “ Well , hello” Blake said into the microphone once the first song was done, biting at the edge of her lip. “ You.. are a beautiful crowd,” she said as she started making her way towards the stage. “ And you seem to know all the words to my songs. Which really.. is a musical diary. And you go out, and you buy that diary. And it’s this..magical thing that happens” she said as she walked around lazily on the stage. “ It’s this diary of emotions that I just sort of spill my heart and soul into. And .. when I’m writing songs, I often relate them to color. Blue is sad, gray is lonely.. but there’s one color in particular that I felt really.. described my latest album. You love someone, you hate them. You’re going to love them forever….you’re never going to get back together…” she said, lowering the microphone to smile softly when the crowd cheered at her suggestion of one of her singles. “ But..” she said with a lift of her eyebrow, “ This album to me, was one color. The passion and energy that I felt at this point in my life… and that is red,” she said, smiling brightly again as the lights shut out, and the stage she was standing on began to lower so that she was under the stage and could quickly change into her outfit for the ‘Red’ performance.
Blake moved her body from side to side as people were basically throwing costumes on her. Logan had already dutifully put some headphones on Kenzie, but it looked like she was throwing a fit about him potentially messing up Brayden’s hair. Though she couldn’t hear Kenzie, she could read the anger in her lips, shouting at Logan to ‘stop that’. Blake finished adjusting her clothes before she stood back on the platform that would bring her back onto the stage. The next couple of performances went by sort of in a blur – Red, I knew you were trouble. But as she stood in her black lace ensemble from I knew you were trouble, she stopped and smiled, staring out at the crowd. “ The crazy thing about this is that.. this is exactly what I used to dream of when I was sitting in my classroom at school. I would day dream about the stadiums, and being able to sing my songs to people who were going through the same things I was. I dreamed about making a difference and being able to stand up in front of you and say that it does legitimately get better, and that when you have a dream you can reach out and touch it. And you all gave that to me, didn’t you.” she said with a slight laugh. “ Unfortunately..” she said before scrunching her nose and turning her head to the side to look over the crowd. “ I feel like I’m cheating on you. Because there is one dream… one dream, that I never thought would happen in my life. Now, I thought.. if I worked hard, and I played guitar until my fingers bled, and I wrote out every hidden emotion of my heart onto paper that MAYBE….maybe.. I would get here some day,” she said before licking her lips. “ But the biggest dream of my life.. the one that I never thought would happen.. is that the man of my dreams, the man I am absolutely in love with.. that his heart, would decide that it sort of liked my heart,” she said, moving so that she could take the guitar from her stage tech. “Now, I sort of lucked out. Because he’s had plenty of opportunities to leave. We’ve screamed in streets, broken up, I’ve thrown things at him.. we played the pointless mind games,” she said , gathering all of her hair to one side. “ And he is without a doubt, the best thing that has ever been mine. I could live without getting to come out here and perform and do my passion every day. But I couldn’t live without him. And it all started when I moved onto his street,.. and he was with the girl who was so not next door. I was the girl who had become a sort of..Scarlet letter. And not for the scandalous reasons. I was just clueless, and a dork.. he was the prince of the hallways. And I would just pray.. that someday, he would throw pebbles at my window,” she said before pushing her hair out of her face and lowering her hands to her guitar to start out the chords for Love Story.
Blake handed the guitar off once the song was over, making her way over to the piano where she sat down, playing it quietly. “ Now that you all know that I am insanely in love with my husband. I’m not afraid to tell you that there were times when he made me want to rip his hair out. Not mine… Mine’s pretty. Plus, ripping my hair out doesn’t hurt him” she said , looking down at her fingers as she continued to play quietly. “ You can safely assume that songs like…All Too Well.. I Knew You Were Trouble.. Picture To Burn.. and unknown to him at the time, Better than Revenge, were certainly inspired by him. But then.. this little friend of mine, maybe you’ve heard of him. He has a band by the name of All Time Low. Some people call him Shane.” she said, lifting her eyebrows as she looked up at the crowd which was screaming for him. “ Oh, good. His name rings a bell,” she said slightly sarcastically as she continued to play. “ Anyways, this friend of mine.. he’s rather clever when it comes to writing. And as soon as I heard this song… I was jealous. And I thought just maybe, you would let me play it for you tonight….” she said, offering a small smile, and then nodded her head. “ Good, it’s called Love Like War. And I have a strange suspicion that it was written for Kenzie and Brayde—oh I’m sorry, kenzie. Batman,” she said before clearing her throat and leaning away from the microphone to start playing A Love Like War more loudly on the piano. Blake slowed the rhythm down as she neared the end of the first part of the song, singing slowly, “For the thrill of your touch, I will shamefully lust,as you tell me we're nothing but trouble...” she sang quietly, taking in a few deep breaths away from the microphone, waiting patiently as the stage brought Shane up from underneath the stage so he could belt out the chorus and take over for the rest of the song.
Blake stood up from behind the piano and moved from it quickly, taking a guitar from one of her dancers, and moved over closer to the stage beside Shane. She tilt her head back as she played guitar, maybe it looked aesthetically neat.. but it was moreso just because she needed to cool the hell off. Yeah, dance around on stage Logan. Do it with 90 pounds of curls stuck to the top of your head. Blake waited for the song to end and then reached over and took Shane’s hand, kissing the side of his cheek as the crowd cheered for him. Blake lift her arms up, talking away from the microphone but to Shane as she spoke, “ I’m really sweaty, but you’re getting a hug anyways,” she said as she wrapped her arms around him tightly. This was everything they had both ever dreamed of. What are the chances that the people in their little group would all find their dreams. Blake moved quickly to change for her last performance – We are never ever getting back together. Which was basically her in a sparkly ring leaders outfit. She could tell that her dancers were glad that this was their last performance, and she was feeling pretty drained too. So after the confetti burst, and the podium quit bringing her from side to side of the stage, she hopped off of the staircase, basically jumping into Logan’s arms as she tiredly took the top hat off. Blake basically curled up against his chest, barely paying attention at Kenzie who had just kicked Shane in the shin for some reason. All Blake wanted right now… was a sandwich. She let her legs dangle lazily as Logan carried her and placed her head against his chest. Look at everything he had created.. look how accomplished he was. “ You did it,” she said tiredly, giving a large yawn before she settled back up against his chest, not even bothering to push the curly blonde hair away from her face.
