Kelin listened to the others and kept his own beer close, having agreed that indeed, he was divorced. Wasn't so sore a wound as it had been. At this point Kelin understood the heart wanted what it wanted, he only wished she would have just said so sooner instead of him finding out the way he had. Regardless, Finn was one of the greatest things in his life, so if anything great had come out of that marriage it had been Finn. Kelin just didn't have any mind for people who were unfaithful. If a relationship felt over, it was best to bite the bullet and end it, right? Interesting as he was watching this night unfold, too. "The old jokes never stop," he said but took a drink anyways, hearing Ethan ask his question about why he was hanging out with Jo still. Speaking of Jo, this scarf smelled pretty damn good. He'd just gotten a lot more than he bargained for today. He wasn't expecting learning so many new things about her, but she had interested him enough to make the stay worthwhile. There seemed to be a lot more about her that he was curious about. "Because I learned a lot of stuff about her today and I would like to know more, actually." Maybe that was the alcohol talking. No it wasn't, it was just making him a bit more forward. Kelin took another drink of his beer because it was his turn and as he took his blindfold off... he couldn't see anything. For a second he thought he had lost his vision temporarily, but realized, "You guys, I think the power went out..."

Jo froze in place as she heard Kelin say that he would like to get to know her more. And it was with that, that she tried to slowly lift herself off the couch, whispering ‘ninja’ to Rory as she moved very slowly. But it was in this moment that she realized she didn’t know where she was placing her feet and ended up stepping on someone’s hand. “ Sorry,” she whispered, standing up straight as Kelin mentioned that the power was out. Jo furrowed her eyebrows beneath the scarf before she started to walk to where she knew the lightswitch was, walking full force into the wall before she held onto the frame to steady herself and tried flipping the switch a couple of times. Jo walked back toward the direction of the couch, stepping on a beer can from earlier in the evening. “ Ow!” she said as she hopped to the side a bit. “ Okay here’s the thing. If the zombie apocalypse is happening, I only promised to save Rory. With the two of you’re here I only have enough dried food to last us about… a week. So..” she said while taking her blind fold off. “ I have to go pick candles, this could take a while.” she said matter of factly before she went to her room, feeling her way around the apartment so she wouldn’t bump into anything again and then kneeled beside the bottom drawer of her dresser, feeling each type of candle to decide if she should use the fragrance ones or the long lasting ones. “ Guys we should decide if we want to split up or stay as a group. Because there are advantages and disadvantages to both,” she called out from her room.

Rory thought she could almost feel Jo tense up beside her, even with her eyes closed behind this scarf. That Kelin better be careful, or he was gonna scare her away. Rory wasn't sure, but there was a good little possibility that Kelin over there was a bit smitten with her Jo. Rory frowned when Kelin said he thought the power was out and slid her scarf off to complete darkness. What the hell. Rory could hear Jo walk directly into the wall and bit back a laugh, hearing the can crunch under her foot. Here we go with the zombie apocalypse talk. Rory stood up as she knew Jo had gone to get candles. Soundlessly she found her way to the kitchen and pulled open a drawer. She knew in the back left of it there was a basket that should have a- there it was. A lighter. One of those hipster friends had left it and since Rory nor Jo smoked, Rory forgot until now she had left it there. She flicked it on, seeing the guys sitting in the dark around the table, "Be right back," and headed to Jo's room. Once inside she said quietly, "Did we to pay the electric bill?" Rory mused. She hadn't remembered about it, and if Jo hadn't either, then they were fresh out of luck. Jo had handed Rory a hand full of some pretty goofy looking candles but took them anyways to go put some light in the living room. "Normally I would say sorry about this, but seeing as we were all blindfolded..." she laughed slightly as the candle took flame and lit up a glow around her face.

Ethan reached up and took the scarf off of his face. The perfume on it was quite lovely, very light and dainty. Sort of like Rory. “ What the actual hell was that..” he pondered to Kelin as Jo had started talking about Zombies. Ethan stood up, going over to the nearest window. The street lights offered some insight to what the weather was like, and it wasn’t storming. “It’s not even sprinkling,” he said in confusion before he put his focus back on Rory who was coming back into the living room, this time with candles. “ Oh are we allowed to use those or do they shield against werewolves?” he asked sarcastically before smiling at Rory and reaching out to take a candle. “ I think it’s best if we split up,” he said, reaching down to take Rory’s hand before he led her back down the hallway. “ Hey Jo,” he said, pausing for a moment before he went into the kitchen and grabbed the first bottle he found and made his way back to the hallway where he went into the room Rory remembered saying was hers and shut it behind her after she stepped in.

If Jo was anything at all, she wasn't boring, that was for sure. It was endearing really, the way she handled situations that made her uncomfortable. She had gone off to find candles in the event that this may possibly be a zombie apocalypse, and Kelin sat back on the couch and drank his beer until the girls returned. He took a candle and while holding it, gave it a good look over. Ethan had disappeared with Rory- again- so Kelin waited until Jo returned. "You know, Jo, these candles look awfully familiar, like I've seen them before, maybe on set perhaps..." he grinned, patting the couch beside himself to gesture that she should sit down. "You never answered my question, about visiting Ireland. Have you been there?" Maybe with the beer she would answer his question and talk with him for a bit. He wasn't even sure he cared about whether she had been there, it was more the why. Why Ireland.

Jo stood holding her candle with her mouth open like a moron as Rory and Ethan went off to her room. “ But code green..” she said as the door shut in her face. She frowned, looking at the door before she placed her fingertips on it, whispering quietly. “ Rory..” she said, but no one opened the door. Jo leaned backward, looking down the hallway where she could see his candle flickering. Damn. Jo held onto her candle with both hands before she made her way to the living room and watched him for a moment, standing at the edge of the room so she could either dart toward the kitchen or sit down with him depending on which thought took over her mind. “ I think they sell them at Bed, Bath and Beyond..” Jo said referring to the candles as she debated in her mind what she should do. She looked over her shoulder once more, narrowing her eyes as she thought deeply about Rory coming out of the room and rescuing her. Nothing. So with that Jo gave a silent sigh, making her way over to the couch and sat down. She thought for a moment about how she had intentionally not told him about whether or not she had been there. “ I’m only a quarter Irish, my grandma was from there.” she said simply before giving a nod. “ They have a deeper appreciation for what’s in front of them there, for the beauty in things of the past. They aren’t consumed with technology or the idea that fashion and trends control the way they run their lives. It’s simpler. I like the… markets, and the silence of televisions not being turned on all day in a home, people going to libraries and getting books instead of renting them on their iPads. I like the idea of going sight seeing to see castles or beautiful buildings instead of whatever blockbuster movie is showing. I like it because they just have a respect for history, treasuring it. Here in the states we’re too impatient and focused on ourselves. Plus Rory can come, because there’s lots of meadows that she can run free in,” she said, before realizing that she just described Rory like a Labrador. “ I just think our worth is truly determined by how we treasure our past. If we don’t fight to preserve it, then what’s left of our present is taking for granted as well. And America…. Sucks. It’s not normal here to want to drink hot tea in silence, or to want to go and find fresh vegetables, not turn on a tv for a week, lose yourself in a book. Those things are seen as odd now. So Rory doesn’t know it yet, but she’s coming to Ireland, too,” she said , making a face as she realized she had said too much. Too much insight, so with that she cleared her throat. “ Why’d you get a divorce?”

Split up. He thought it was best that the group split up. Rory thought for a second about Jo and whether or not she would be okay by herself with Kelin, but then changed direction and wondered if she herself was going to be fine by herself with Ethan. Last time they were by themselves things... happened. Feelings and such. Ethan had taken her hand and a bottle of Tequila, heading off to her room where he shut the door. "You can officially see my room," she smiled, looking for somewhere to put her candle but decided to hold onto it so she wouldn't need to find something to do with her hands. Rory's room wasn't exactly messy per say, though Jo begged to differ, but Rory just had a lot of things. Lot's of photographs on the walls that she had taken, a lot of books, a ton of records, a lot of odd and ends. An old record player of course, a guitar, a ukelele. Just a lot of belongings. Things from home. A bowl of Petoskey stones. A jar of sand from the sleeping bear sand dunes. A jewelry box that really only had items containing opal. Milo was missing. She'd let him outside hours ago, he was probably roaming around the neighborhood with his numerous cat mistresses. Rory gently took the bottle of tequila and sat down, taking a sip. She wasn't really sure what to say. My room is cluttered with stuff? Why are you here? Instead she looked up at him with a smile and offered the bottle back, watching him look around. He was unfairly handsome with only a couple of candles burning. Just unfair. The tequila felt like it was warming a spot in her chest as it made it's way down while her thoughts made their way back to being on the roof earlier. Rory stopped trying to push them away, for some reason in the dark it felt safer. He couldn't see her blush.

Ethan laughed quietly as she joked that now he could see her room since it had taken all evening to complete the tour. “ All good things come to those who wait,” he said dryly. He looked down at the candle, judging its weight before he held it out to Rory to have her hold it as well. He narrowed his eyes, looking around in the dark as his eyes were slowly beginning to adjust. Take two pieces of paper her tore them, folding the edges up so that they could trap any melted wax before he took a pencil and put holes in the center of each of them big enough that he could lower the candles into them. He licked his lips, taking both of the candles from Rory before fixing so that the paper surrounded each of the candles and the proceeded to empty a pencil cup on her desk, and thankfully found an empty glass she must have kept for water and put a candle in each. “ There, hands free” he said quietly before looking around. If you were going to find out anything about someone, the best place to look was their room. It was where they were the most unfiltered and honest. He brought his hand up to the side of his jaw, scratching at the scruff again as he started to look at the vinyl records she had slowly, taking a moment to reach each one since it was still dark. “ Does your player have batteries?” he questioned, making a nod to the record player as he held up an album.

Kelin thought for a moment and watched Jo while she spoke. Not only did she form an opinion but she was passionate about it, just the same way she was passionate about what she was studying in school. And she valued the things that mattered, that was something else he could appreciate and relate too. He really agreed with a lot of what she said. It was a lot of the things he missed about Ireland and a lot of what he was trying to teach Finn too. Not to spend all day in front of cartoons, go outside and play. Stop and appreciate stuff. Kelin nodded, truly glad for how this day had turned out. How could he have gone about set every day and not somehow had a small conversation with Jo, or anything? Well, because she probably actually avoided him. Kelin was going to make sure she didn't avoid him anymore, he enjoyed spending time with her. "I completely agree," he said quietly, taking a drink of his beer. She had asked about his divorce and really it wasn't something he avoided talking about. it was part of his life events after all. "Well, she cheated on me, with my best mate actually. Of course I regret not finding out until after I had been made a fool of, but my son is probably one of my favorite parts of my day, Finn. So it's not all bad," he shrugged. "You'll have to let me know if you're ever going to visit Ireland, or if you would like to, I could probably set something up for you, if you'd be interested." Maybe she would think he was just acting like a rich actor, but honestly he was serious about it. Like if she was planning on traveling there and wanted to stay somewhere a little more connected with local life, he would be happy to help out.

Jo lost herself in her own thoughts for a moment, staring toward the hallway as she wondered what Rory was doing. Probably not making a fool of herself like she was. She looked back over at Kelin as he started talking about how his wife had cheated on him with his best friend, well what she assumed was now his ex best friend. She tried not to let her facial expression change or to show any emotion really, but that genuinely sucked. ‘ Oh,” she said before looking away and down at the candle in her hands. “ That’s shitty,”she added, cause really, what could you say? He seemed to be in a good place right now and focused on his son, so there was that. “ You never bring him to set. Is that because the women there would die from all of their ovaries exploding?” she asked as she turned to look at him. She smiled as he talked about helping her out if she were to go to Ireland. Because that made sense, helping out the girl that stole your ring. “ You’re going to call all the leprechauns?” she questioned before shaking her head. “ Hang on,” she said before she got up to go to the kitchen and rummage whatever food she could find. She came back a couple of moments later, carrying frozen grapes and some freeze dried ice cream. “ Are you hungry?” she questioned , without any hostility in her voice for the first time tonight. Jo sat down, setting the frozen grapes between them before she looked back over at him. “ You know you can go with the power being off. I’m sure your place has electricity. And real food.” she said as she offered him one of the packs. She chewed on a grape slowly, debating for a moment before she straightened up the way she was sitting and did her best to ask nonchalantly. “ Do you have a picture of Finn?”

Rory watched Ethan with the candles, silent for a moment just watching the flames flicker and the light dance across his features. That was a good idea. Rory didn’t think that while planning for an apocalypse that Jo thought about things like wax dripping onto your hand if you were holding a candle. She’d thought of virtually everything else though, so no worries. Combined with the dark lit room, watching him go through her records felt like a dream a little bit. She nodded when he asked about the record player, “Mhmm. Wouldn’t be right if it didn’t,” she smiled a little. If anything in a power outage, it seemed like something old should still be able to function. “What did your friends think of those gifts you bought, or have you not given them away yet?” she wondered out loud, waiting to see what he would pick. “What do you normally listen to?” she asked him crawling off the bed to sit beside him and see which ones he was looking at.

Ethan bit the inside of his lip as he looked through the old vinyls. “ Usually I listen to a lot of Black Keys.. but.. you don’t have much new music on vinyl. Although, you do have my two favorite bands,” he said with a smile over his shoulder before he looked back and picked up the Kongos album and came over to the record player. “ Wanna help me out?” he questioned as he looked over at her, tapping the vinyl against his other hand. This kind of thing was definitely not Ethans scene, so it was interesting to how other people lived their lives and what they appreciated, how they saw things differently. And apparently, Rory and Jo saw things very differently. At least, different than he was used to girls around him seeing things. “ Is this alright??” he questioned before smiling slowly in her direction. “ I’m not gonna bite you, Rory, I promise. You can quit staring at me like I’m going to turn into an alien or some sort of predator,” he said before looking back down at the vinyl.

Kelin thought for a moment about why he never brought Finn to set, "I don't know, I want him to grow up with some sense of normalcy. I want him to understand that my job isn't average. He's a little young to understand that my job isn't normal. I don't want him to be used to it, if that makes sense." If it were up to Kelin alone, he would do what he could to shield Finn from any abnormalcy that came with Kelin's job, but that was unrealistic. Finn would eventually have to understand it all. Just when he was old enough to tell the difference between working hard and a fantasy. Kelin laughed out loud and looked at her, "For you Jo, I would call every leprechaun I know." Which was true. He would go out of his way to help someone worth it. He just obviously didn't know any leprechauns. Irish people, sure. "Sure I'm hungry," he responded, tearing a package open and took a bite, draping his other arm across the back of the couch. She mentioned that he could leave if he wanted but said, "My place is lacking in good company though, unlike here," he smiled. Kelin nodded, pulling his phone out and pulled up a picture of Finn. he really had the sweetest face, Kelin's eyes, the works. Lucky kid. "Maybe one day I will bring him around set. I think he'd like you quite a lot," he mused, flipping through a few pictures to show her.

Jo watched Kelin as he spoke, talking about how he wanted Finn to have some sort of normalcy. With a pirate as a father. Okay maybe he wasn’t actually a pirate, but he did come to work and wear eyeliner and have a hook for a hand – well, not anymore. Hook was gone, coat was shorter and the butt could be seen. Which it was, by a lot of girls. So she heard. “ That’s actually really sweet,” she commented before giving a nod. A lot of the actors that she had seen on set didn’t really care much for sheltering their kids from the darker side of their business, or letting them become spoiled. She watched him as he opened the ice cream without commenting on how weird that was, and for some reason, that made her feel a bit more comfortable with him tonight than anything else had. But there he was, saying how the company here was better than his apartment and she looked away, trying not to say something about the invention of lightbulbs, electricity, and then making some lame punny joke about sparks being out in the wiring, but being on the couch. Why did she have to be so damn funny. She cleared her throat, glad at the subject change as he decided to show her a picture of his son after she asked. “ Oh my gosh!” she said, taking the phone from him so she could look. Here’s the thing, as far as her sarcastic exterior made her seem like she hated everyone – she just hated mostly everyone. And that included most kids . But she had a soft spot for her niece, and if she thought someone was cute that for some reason made their kids less annoying. “Obviously he can’t talk, but his throughts are probably gaelic,” she said more to herself than anything before she realized how stupid she sounded and turned to look at him. “ This is my niece, I love kids. Actually, I just.. sort of adore the hell out of her,” she said, taking her phone to scroll through some pictures before she brought one up of them together. “They should have a play date sometime. She loves play dates. But she’ll be upset if he doesn’t bring her a flower.. forewarning,” she said, smiling to herself as she looked down at the phone. Jo looked back at him, noticing for the first time as she looked in his eyes how quiet the room was. “ Um..” she said, not wanting to get lost into too much conversation, or give him the chance to get to know much about her since it was all going back to normal tomorrow. The less she could make herself look like an idiot on set, the better. “ Hey wanna watch a movie?” she said, getting up without him answering as she went to get her laptop. “You can co-…no stay there. I’ll come back out.” she said, nodding to herself that inviting him into her room was a bad idea. For some reason a common area seemed like a better option. Jo picked up her laptop before coming out and sat down next to him, pulling up Netflix. “ Um.. do you like Liam Neeson? Cause I do…” she said, pulling up his name in the search engine on Netflix so that Kelin could pick a movie. “ Kelin,” she said, knowing herself and that she just had to make things weird in her opinion, “ Just.. I mean. Come on,” she said, making a face as she smiled and shook her head. “ I don’t want to be that idiot girl on set that gets to know you and then you walk past her in the morning, because all of those girls on set that worship you look like fucking morons. And I mean. You seem great, but you sort of have to understand where I’m coming from, right? You’re hot, and you’re in my apartment, and you’re … famous, and.. I mean, fucking Irish. I know what the stack is.”

Kelin looked at her phone too, “Oh you have a niece? Let’s see then,” he said, smiling and shook his head. “Well if she isn’t one of the cutest, are you sure she’s your niece? She looks just like you.” Kelin honestly never thought in a million years he’d be comparing kid pictures like a proud dad but once you became one it just sort of happened. Kelin laughed, “Oh well, I’ll have to make sure he comes prepared then,” he joked. He glanced over at her, the look on her face still lingering a little at talking about someone she obviously adored the most. He got that look on his face when he talked about Finn. It was quite attractive. Well, she was quite attractive. And she was obviously extremely smart, another plus. “Yeah, I could watch a movie,” he responded while she got up and told him to stay. He could stay, too, if that was what she wanted. Just as long as she came back. While she was gone he took a breath and re-evaluated his situation. The universe had fallen into place. Something had happened. He had come for some silly little reason but has stayed for a bigger reason. When she returned he added that yes he liked Liam Neeson, he was pretty great. “Yeah?” he said looking at her. Kelin stared at her for a moment and then said, “No, actually, I don’t think you know where the stack is. I spend all day in front of a camera pretending to be a fictional person, and that somehow makes me unattainable? Don’t you realize that you’re brilliant?” he shook his head, “Jo, I don’t know why I came here but I know why I stayed, and it’s because you turned out to be someone I actually want to give my time to. You’re extremely smart, opinionated, and you have goals that matter to YOU. Take my career out of this and realistically, the cards are stacked against me. I enjoy talking with you, you’re very nice to look at, and I would like it very much if you stopped ignoring me on set.” Kelin nodded, a little surprised at his own audacity.
