Ethan had left the runway show as soon as reporters started asking him about Natalia. He hated that part of what he was doing. The invasion of privacy. Why did people care? Why did it matter? Did it have some significance in their lives? Couldn’t he just have his relationship be private? Though he did feel bad just leaving like that without saying goodbye to Rosie. He knew how important tonight was to her, how excited she’d been. She was probably dying to get out of the heels and into something comfortable, but she’d enjoy it while it lasted and he had just left high and dry. Ethan looked over his shoulder to look down the street and see what vendors might still be open. He wanted to make it up to her, just leaving like that. After all she was so excited, and she had asked him to come. He didn’t want to disappoint her as a friend, and whenever a friend accomplished something like this wasn’t it appropriate to do something nice for them and to show them that you appreciated all of their hard work.
Ethan walked over to the stand of flowers, looking at each of them, trying to decide what to get her. Well her name was Rosie, so roses should be good enough. He looked them over, deciding to not go with the typical red or white and instead picked out an assortment of peach toned roses. They were unique, which was sort of fitting. There’d been a few times when he’d wanted to text or call Natalia but she’d said that her phone was off. That was fine. She could leave it off. He had every right to go to New York. She’d kept something from him, sort of broken the trust he once had for her. And in the small amount of time he was going to be home he planned on doing whatever the hell he wanted. Going out, drinking, hanging out with the guys, getting in a few games of soccer, some more drinks. But right now, that included Rosie and congratulating her on doing such an amazing job. Ethan paid for the roses before he turned to the street and hailed another cab. He didn’t want to just tell her he was going to be at her place, if she was going to attend an after party he wanted her to let loose and have fun, not miss any of it just because he was going to be at her place.
After the cab pulled to a stop, Ethan picked up the flowers and slid out of the back of the car. Looking up at Rosie’s building he took in a deep breath and sighed. He could be friends with who he wanted to be. He’d been completely honest about it with Natalia. He’d never hidden when they were spending time together, and he’d been completely open about it. Whatever. He was going to stop thinking about it. Here was the situation he was in. Him and his girlfriend weren’t currently talking to each other. He was back home in New York for the next week. He’d just spent the night watching a friend do something they loved, and now he wanted to spoil her a bit for all of her hard work. He wanted to spend time with Rosie. Point blank. That’s all that mattered. Ethan set the roses down on the step before he sat down next to them, leaning his elbows against his knees as he waited for her to come home.

Rosie had to admit she was disappointed when she realized that Ethan had left abruptly after the show due to reporters asking him about Natalia. She didn't blame him for wanting to get out of all the chaos, but she thought maybe he'd stick around to see her afterward. She had invited him after all. But once again, she found herself scolding herself for even being upset. He was a friend, it wasn't as if he was required to be there. But still for as good as she was about putting on a happy face, especially when she was known for smiling practically all the time, she couldn't quite hide her disappointment. She was just a little bummed. But Rosie could see that Ryan clearly wanted to talk to Madeline and Rosie got the hint. She turned to look for Patrick, going over to him to try and entertain him so Madeline and Ryan could have plenty of time to talk or whatever it was they needed to work out. She didn't mind dealing with Patrick for Madeline, she didn't have anything to do now anyways. She was sure Patrick wouldn't let Madeline go out tonight and she didn't know what Ethan was doing. Maybe she would just go home and put her pajamas on, curl up on the couch with some cocoa and a book or something... By the time Rosie got out of there she just wanted to put her own clothes on and get home to relax. She had enough of being sexy for one night, pulling on her tights and a flowey dress, and her brown boots without heels. Sometimes she didn't even mind not looking ultra sexy all the time. She pulled on her coat and mittens, and her hat over her still curled hair before stepping outside and hailed a cab. Maybe when she got home she would call her dad and sister, ask them if they had watched the show. Maybe they were still awake. As the cab pulled up to her building, she got out, thanking the cab driver and wrapped her arms around herself trying to shield herself from the cold. Tights had been a good choice. As she approached the front steps, she stopped and looked up, since shed been watching the sidewalk to keep t he wind out of her face. Ethan was sitting on her front steps, a bouquet of roses beside him. She felt a warm smile spread across her lips, "Ethan, what are you doing here?" Rosie walked the rest of the way to the steps as Ethan stood up to great her. Rosie had always felt so awkwardly tall growing up, always had been the tallest girl in her class, took forever to grow into her limbs. But when she wasn't wearing heels, Ethan was plenty taller then her, and that she liked. Especially when he was taller than her when she was wearing heels too. She felt like girl beside him, instead of an awkward amazon. "You didn't say goodbye to me," she said, frowning, but smiled just as easily, "I know you don't really like reporters. I guess I can't say I blame you." She shrugged, brushing it off. Since he was here it pretty much made her forget how bummed she'd been before. Outfit
