Dated for 12-14-2011 “ This is your delivery month, try not to be too active. Rest, relax, use it as a time to stay in bed and watch your favorite movies, “ her doctor had told her a about a week ago. Stay in bed and watch movies? That was not how Blake made it to where she was today and she sure as hell wasn’t going to let being pregnant stop her from making sure she got what work she needed to done today. So she’d started off her morning, packing a lunch for Logan to take to the label, driving to the MTV studios in Times Square to do an interview, then heading over for a radio interview, off to Good Morning America, finally made it to the studio in time to share lunch with Logan, went to her studio to work on a few lyrics, recorded some tracks on the piano, met with marketing and design for the new perfume she was wanting to launch, went home and made a dinner that would be ready for Shane to eat once he was done with his show, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and sweet tea, changed and made her way out to the show for All Time Low. Though throughout the entire day she intermittently felt these sharp pains that lasted anywhere from fifteen seconds to a minute, and then they would pass. It was like her muscles were tightening up in her lower stomach and it always caused her to reach onto whatever was nearest and grip it as tightly as she could. Maybe her body was trying to tell her to slow down, relax, do what the doctor said. It was just her schedule simply had no time for it. Blake smiled at a few people backstage who were working on the show. It was amazing how amazing Shane sounded live, but he just had a naturally gifted voice that didn’t need any enhancements or anything at all really. Blake took a drink from her bottle of cranberry juice and walked over to the side of the stage, smiling softly as she watched Shane singing out to the massive amount of fans who had shown up for him tonight. All joking aside, considering how they all labeled her a diva, she wasn’t one in the sense that she absolutely loved seeing the success of her friends. And Shane had certainly accomplished that. There weren’t enough words to express how fond she was of Shane, not even giving her child his name for their middle name. She held her hand over her stomach, hating how often pregnant women did that in movies and always slightly cringing when she realized she was doing it. She took in a deep breath as she felt a quick wave of heat and decided to walk away from the side of the stage. Maybe all the lights on the stage were just making her warm. She’d gotten warm the last few performances she had done, and she was only more pregnant now. Blake smiled politely as she passed a few roadies, maybe she just needed to sit down in the designated ‘green room’, chill out on Shane’s couch for a while. But as she held her hand to the door handle she cringed, gripping her hand tightly around the cold metal as she felt the sharpest pain she’d felt all day, or…ever, really. She tightened her eyes, counting under her breath as she forced herself to take a deep breath and finally, eventually the pain stopped. Blake stayed still, taking in a few more deep breaths before she sighed out of relief and stood up straight. Blake opened the door and took a quick step forward but stopped instantly, looking down at the ground. She narrowed her eyebrows as she stepped in the water, lifting her right foot instantly before she realized what it was and looked up straight in front of her as she looked at the interior of room she was about to enter. Everything inside of her told her to panic, but honestly she just couldn’t move. She wasn’t sure how long she stood there, but it couldn’t have been longer than a few minutes before she finally turned and looked in the mirror. Good, black tights. So it wasn’t noticeable on her outfit. Blake pushed her hair away from her face with her finger before she stepped out into hall again and waited for someone working the concert to walk by her. “ Hi!” she shouted seeing someone wearing a headset. Blake held onto the doorframe as she took a step towards them, “ Hey there.. how are you?” she asked, realizing she didn’t really care in this moment because of how she was feeling, but she’d never been rude to someone working a concert before and she wasn’t going to start now. “ I need you to do me a favor okay.. actually two, OH!” she said excitedly, snapping her finger before she pointed at them. “ First, I need you to find me a mop. And then I need you to find Logan,.. you know Renner.. My husband. Tell him it’s important, but don’t necessarily lead him to believe it’s an emergency. I mean don’t freak him out, just tear him away from nitpicking every last detail. Ask him to hand over his headset to his interns… And when I say mop first, I mean mop first. Mop first, Logan second. “ she said before placing a quick smile on her lips. “ Thanks so much!” she said before she leaned back into the doorframe. She frowned after the person walked away and looked down at her stomach. “ This is so not ideal, Kenzie” she said, as though it was a complete annoyance. Technically, it was. All she wanted was to stick through Shane’s show. And little Kenzie was already making it all about her. Little Diva. Blake looked up and straightened as the assistant came back with a mop and smiled, “ Thank you so much,…” she said before taking it and starting to mop up where she had been standing. After a few strokes she looked up at the assistant, who had a puzzled look on their resemblant of ‘ why in the hell is Blake Renner mopping ‘. Blake waited a few seconds before she lifted her eyebrow and spoke calmly to them. “ ….Logan..” she said before the assistant perked back up and turned immediately to go find Logan, leaving Blake to give a small nod to herself and going back to mopping. Logan stood off stage, headset on his head and a clip board in his hands. He spoke into his head set, watching the monitor beside him, "Matt can I get Shane's in ear turned up some?" Shane was doing an acoustic song, taking it down a notch for a little bit. They wanted to cover a lot of their music for the DVD, new stuff, old stuff, slow stuff, all of it. "That better?" Logan looked at Shane who gave him a thumbs up, "Perfect, thanks Matt." Logan looked through his papers, hearing the camera guy in his ear about lighting. Logan paused, looking out past the curtain. "Uhh, can we get the house lights turned down?" Ask and you shall receive, Renner. As he finished asking, the lights in the house dimmed. "Cool, thanks." The show was going well, but Logan was just doing a lot of extra technical stuff because of the camera crew filming the DVD. They didn't want any technical difficulties. Logan felt someone tap his shoulder, someone from the stage crew. Logan turned down his headset, muffling the banter and conversation of the crew working on lighting and sound. "Logan? Sorry to bother you, Blake asked that I come find you, she said she needed you to go see her, it's kind of important?" Logan gave him a blank face while his words registered, taking his headset off his ears and placed it around his neck. The guy back tracked a little, saying quickly, "She also said not to worry you, she didn't want you to freak out." "Oh," Logan said, "Why, what's she doing?" "What's she doing? I don't know, mopping something up. Just said to tell you to leave your headset with an intern." Logan stopped and paused for a second. She had specifically said not to freak him out, but to basically hand over his duties to someone else. Because it was important. But not to panic. "Okay..." Logan said quickly, walking over to where Felicia was standing, trying to help Jack fix his in ear monitor. "Felicia? Can you take this?" He handed her the clip board and placed the headset around her head. "Can you just make sure everything runs smooth, listen to the camera guys, make sure the crew fixes shit, do NOT let Jack take his pants off." She looked at him questioningly, "Sure, what's up?" "I don't know, Blake needs me." "Okay.. let me know if everything's okay.." Felicia said, watching him walk away quickly in the direction the crew guy had pointed him.
Logan had a feeling it was something to do with the baby. He didn't know why he immediately thought that, other than the fact she was getting pretty close to her due date. Nothing could be wrong right? She'd just been to the doctor, doctor said everything was going accordingly. He found her at Shane's dressing room, mopping up something spilled. Not surprising, of course Blake was cleaning something up. "Blake?" he said as he approached her, "What's wrong?" He looked at her, still mopping, "What are you doing? Someone would have cleaned that up." He knew it didn't matter if there were ten people to clean it up, Blake still would have taken it upon herself to do so.

Blake pushed her hair away from her face with the back of her arm before she went back to mopping, muttering under her breath about everything from of course Shane’s rowdy rock and roll music would do this to the fact that Ryan hadn’t eaten all of his green beans at dinner last night. She looked up quickly as she heard Logan approaching her and sighed quietly out of relief. She gave a confused expression as he said someone would’ve cleaned it up, “ Yeah I know, I am” she said, not directly picking up on what he was saying. “ They would have done it wrong, you’re supposed to squeeze the dirty water out and then move back towards yourself that way you aren’t draggin- you know what… not important” she said, holding her hand up as she stopped herself from explaining the proper technique when it came to mopping up a spill or a mess. “ M’k, I’m gonna be about as calm about this as I can but I’m severely freaking out in my head. So I’m surprised that I’m speaking to you so normally, but I’m frozen in fear. Literally, can not let go of this mop. Look at the knuckles, Logan. Nope I mean it, look at em. White. Right round this mop. Why? Because when I let go then I am going to experience the most amount of pain ever in my entire life. I quit cleaning and I have to go and I don’t want to go. Because I’ve prepared myself for a lot of things but this is really not one of them.” she said, giving a small nod as thought any of that made sense.
Blake felt the tears form up from being scared and quickly took in a deep breath. This was ridiculous. She had performed in front of millions of people. If she could do that, she could do this. Except she ruined her favorite tights, and she couldn’t even move. “ Shane ruined my due date and my water broke.” she said, finally sniffling and moving her hands over her eyes to brush the tears away. “ I was supposed to have two more weeks. Two weeks. To mentally prepare myself. And he is making her come early. And I am so not happy with him right now because if you look at me…” she said, choking slightly on her tears as she pointed at herself, “ I am not emotionally equipped to handle this right now and now I have to shove out a baby that you put in me. This is your fault. And Shane’s” she said, taking another second to herself before she looked at the mop in her hands and slowly set it against the wall. She gave a slow nod before she looked at Logan. “ Okay..” she said, wiping the back of her hand over her nose. “ You should take me to the hospital now” she said, unsure of whether or not her moodswing was under control. Either way, they had to get a move on. And Logan needed to mentally catch up to where she was. Blake walked away from Logan trying to make an exit when she passed one of the stage assistants again, offering a teary-eyed mile. “ Can you get us a cab please? Or make sure people move the fuck out of the way of Logan’s car…” she said in a pleasant tone despite the profanity. “ Also if you could get ahold of Mackenzie Bannon that would be awesome. And tell Shane after the show is over we need him at the hospital. Immediately. Do not say a word to him before his show is over, got it? And also,… find Ryan O’Neil. Tell him he needs to come. And that he needs to bring Taco Bell. I don’t care what.” she said as she started to take a few steps away “ Oh oh oh and some of those Little Debbie cherry cordial cookie things. Tell him I want those. And a red velvet cake donut….. and a gallon of chocolate milk… Yeah that’ll do it” she said giving a small nod before she turned back over her shoulder to look for Logan.

Logan looked at Blake, trying to stay calm when she started talking about mopping, since he knew that was proabbly not at all why she had said she needed him. But she had dismissed it herself, going on to explain that she was freaking out and a lot of other things Logan was trying to grasp but all that registered was that this definitely had to do with the baby and didn't want to cut her off so she could finish her freak out in peace. He nodded when she said that her water broke, ignoring the rest of it and who's fault it was. It didn't matter who's fault it was, it didn't change that it was happening. Two weeks early as she had pointed out. And she was right. They weren't mentally prepared for this, either of them. At least not at this very second. Sure they'd read the baby books, gone to all the appointments, baby proofed the house, had a nursery all ready to go. But mentally prepared? They were at a rock show. That was an entirely different story. Prepared was not what they were. But they were about to get prepared pretty fast. Logan looked at Blake who was having a breakdown, softening, "Okay, everything's fine, we'll just head to the hospital." Logan didn't even realize he was already going into Logan fix it mode, just the way he always dealt with things; calm and level headed.
Blake was already talking to some assistant, giving him a list of things to do, and Logan didn't figure he was going to remember all that on top of whatever he was actually supposed to be doing pertaining the show. He hoped for that guys sake he didn't forget anything she just told him. Logan only had one person he had to talk to and though he could probably just go find Lance, he figured Blake wouldn't like that detour. He pulled out his phone and waited until Lance picked up, "Lance? Hey can you do me a favor? I would just come tell you but I'm on my way out, Blake's water broke so we're going to the hospital. Will you call mom and dad and tell them, and tell Mackenzie so she can meet us over there? And... I guess ask her if she can call Blake's parent's. Oh," he said, glancing at Blake who was giving a very big order of food, "And meet us there. Please," he laughed nervously, "Just kind of spread the word? Thanks, Lance, love you bro." Logan hung up, figuring everyone else would figure out what to do once thy knew what was going on. Felicia would make sure Shane knew as soon as they were finished, but she'd do a good job of making sure he had no idea until he was done playing. Mackenzie would know how to get a hold of Blake's parents. Lance could handle spreading the word. Logan just hoped Ryan got that food order right, otherwise the chances of him not being lectured were laughable. Logan caught up with Blake, taking hand and walking with her out to the car, making sure she was at least somewhat comfortable, as much as someone in labor could be, before he shut her door and got in the driver's side before heading to the hospital.

Blake was counting under her breath, doing anything basically to distract herself as she waited for Logan to get into the car after he shut her door. It wasn’t like she was just doing this with some random guy. It was the scariest thing she was ever going to have to face, but she didn’t have to do it alone. All of her other big life decisions she’d already taken with Logan, and he’d taken care of her so far. She just had to trust that they would take care of each other now. When he started the car she silently thanked god that he hadn’t brought the Lambo. Blake held her hand in Logans before she leaned forward and turned on the radio. “ We’re singing till we get to the hospital” she said, still staring at the radio as she switched stations. It wasn’t really a request so much as a demand. She felt nervous and scared, and what did she do when she felt those things? She sang, because it made her feel normal and comfortable and always took away her fears. Then again she’d never shoved a human being out of her own body before so here goes nothing. Blake stopped on one station to see what was playing. She rolled her eyes as she heard Joel’s voice blast through the speakers in ‘Baby’. Ironic. She switched again to a few stations before she let out a huge sigh of relief at hearing that they were a little into the intro of her song ‘Mine’ that she had written for Logan. Blake closed her eyes as she sat back in her seat, closing her eyes tightly, clenching her fingers around Logan’s, and barely whispered the words as she sang under her breath and kept adjusting to make herself comfortable. Blake opened her eyes, sitting up as Logan slowed down before he pulled into the Emergency Room entrance. At least he could worry about his car later here. She scrunched her nose as she pushed the car door open and held onto the door handle. Getting out of the car had been tricky for the past few weeks but this was ridiculous. “ How the hell do fat people do this!” she said, rocking herself in her seat until she landed her feet on the ground. Blake took a few steps away from the car before she hurried back and leaned down to look in the mirror and quickly adjusted her hair. She was already coming in unannounced, she didn’t want to look like crap. That made for a terrible guest. After smoothing her hair down she looked back at Logan, adjusting the collar of his shirt before she walked through the sliding doors and looked for a desk or anyone that sort of looked like a registrar. “ We really should have toured the hospital before this” she whispered to Logan before she took a step towards a desk and gave a faint cough to try and get the attention of the woman behind it. “ … Hello” she said finally, warranting the nurse to look up from her post. “Hi, what’s the emergency?” she asked quickly, already pulling up a document on the computer to get them registered. “ Um, my water broke. I think. It was like, this pressure and then there was water everywhere and I’m pretty sure that is indicative of false labor. I think that’s pretty.. labor labor..” she said. Though her and Logan had read every single parenting book they could lay their hands on. How Logan always shouted our Chemistry questions to Joel during rehearsals, Joel had started to ask Logan parenting questions while he was working on paperwork and producing. “ And your name? And the father’s name?” she asked, still typing. Blake placed her hands on the counter, trying to speak quietly. “ Um, Blake and Logan Renner” she said quietly, wanting more than anything in the world to just sit down. And get that shot in her back. Yeah, an epidural sort of sounded like bliss right now. “ … Oh my gosh, my daughter loves you both. Can I get an autograph?”. Blake blinked as she looked down at the nurse before she felt her lips twitch into some sort of smile she’d never felt herself express before. Angry, annoyed, irritated, painful? “ Logan…” Blake said, offering for him to step forward since she was about to lose her shit on an innocent woman. She took a quick small step back to let Logan finish up talking to the nurse and looked around for a wheelchair. Logan was strong he could push her.
They couldn’t get a wheelchair until they were registered and now the nurse was staring at Logan like he was some sort of sex god who walked straight out of her dreams. Accurate. Blake sighed, feeling like she was about to topple over as she pursed out her lips and looked around the waiting room. There was a little boy that was sitting in a wheelchair, who was fine, it was his brother sitting in one opposite of him that was injured. She really didn’t want to kick him out so instead she took a place in a regular chair next to the boy and gave a small smile to him. Logan would get her a wheelchair. He fixed everything. If he had to, he’d probably just push the chair she was in instead of risking her be uncomfortable. She really was lucky to have married him. She smiled as she watched him. He knew of the effect he had on women, in general. But sometimes she thought he was oblivious when it was happening to him when he had no interest in pursuing it. It was quite often, cashiers at grocery stores, some of the interns, girls on music video sets, anyone really just went into this trance. But in the middle of her daydreaming about her own husband she felt a sharp pain in her side, knowing the contractions were going to start getting worse. Blake reached for her lower back instantly the best she could the way she was seated in her chair and though she tried to hold it in, let out a less than lady like scream as she tried to catch her breath. The little boy in the wheelchair next to her screamed at the way Blake had screamed and jumped out of his chair before running into his mothers lap. Blake tightened her eyes quickly, waiting for the contraction to pass, just a few more seconds, she could make it. When she opened her eyes she took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “ Sorry kid” she said, pulling herself up slowly before she moved into the wheelchair. It looked like Logan had sent over a doctor so he could finish the bullshit paper work and she’d still get looked at. “ Mrs. Renner, are you ready to go back? We’ve got a few things we need to take care of before we bring your new addition to the family into the world,” he said, offering her an encouraging smile. Blake narrowed her eyes as she looked at him. Too peppy. “ I want the epidural before the iv please.” she said, giving a small nod. “ Well Mrs.Renner, we always start the iv before we begin the proc-“. “ No I want the epidural first. Drug me up, I’m beyond serious right now” she said, lifting her eyebrow at him. He stood up, putting his hands on the back of her wheelchair before she looked at him like he was batshit crazy again. “ Yeah I don’t think so,” she said, waving at Logan so he could push her and glared at the doctor again until he took a step back. She waited until he was a few feet away before she frowned, apologizing. “ I’m not usually like this, I’m sorry. I’ll get your name later and make sure you receive a batch of cherry brownies and a casserole” she said, nodding to herself as though that made everything better.

Logan looked at the woman like she was nuts before composing himself and moved in front of the counter so Blake could go sit down. Why on earth would that woman ask that? It was an irritating addition to fame, people not giving you privacy or respect to your personal life. And right now the fact that Blake was in labor pretty much indicated that it was not the time for autographs. Blake looked back at Blake who had sat down and then smiled at the woman, clearly charming the crap out of her but by the time he was somewhat through the paperwork he had already convinced her to get a doctor out there and look at Blake right away. he turned around abruptly when he heard Blake scream, probably having another contraction. He wondered how long those had been going on today with out her saying anything. She probably figured it was too early anyways. The doctor was now talking to Blake and Logan finished signing the last form, thanking the woman and she blushed. As he turned away he sighed, they'd have to get her Blake's autograph later. Much later. Blake didn't want the doctor to push the wheel chair, Logan didn't blame her. He leaned down, kissing the top of Blake's head and walked behind her wheel chair, "Hi, Dr...." he paused holding his hand out for the doctor who shook it and starting leading the way, "Dr. Freeman, you must be the father. Listen we usually do an IV first..." Logan cut him off, already having heard this conversation across the room, "Is it any trouble to just give her the epidural first? That's what she wants, is that a problem?" The doctor looked back at him, "No, no, not a problem. We'll just do the epidural first." "Perfect, thank you." Logan wheeled Blake into a room.
From then on Logan pretty much just stayed by Blake's side, listening to her when no one else was, making sure she got what she wanted. He didn't want to leave her. Even if he had a reason to leave the room, like being hungry, or having to go to the bathroom, he was pretty sure his brain was blocking it out. He just sat beside her, holding her hand, ignoring her squeezing the crap out of it when she had a contraction. Someone finally came in and gave her an epidural. Logan read about all this stuff, been told by doctors, but now that it was all happening, it really was a lot of scary stuff. Painful. He hated seeing Blake have to go through all this, would switch places with her if he could. The sooner they got the epidural over with the better. Very big needle. Logan looked away, brushing the hair away from Blake's face, still holding her hand as long as she wanted him to. Logan was glad when they were finished, knowing Blake was probably ten times more glad then he was. After she'd been all re situated and got more comfortable, he relaxed a little. Not very much, but a little. Though he was pretty good at hiding his stress, he had to admit he'd kind of forgotten they'd have a baby after all of this. Logan took a deep breath, squeezing her hand, and leaned down to kiss her, "I love you." he didn't think he'd love anybody more then he did Blake.

Blake cringed as she sat on the edge of the bed so that they could work on putting the needle into the base of her spine and inject the epidural. Most paintful thing, ever. She squeezed onto Logan’s hand tightly. She was past the point of screaming, tears. She’d entered a new realm of agony she didn’t even know existed. “ Holy.. shit..” she said, opening her eyes as she felt them pull the needle back out and looked back over at Logan with a helpless smile. Maybe he would think she was doing okay, as long as she just kept smiling. So she would, smile on. She laid back finally, waiting for the epidural to go through her body and kept her fingers wrapped loosely around Logan’s. She felt more of a sense of relief when he kissed her and told her he loved her, than she had from the epidural yet. “ I love you, too” she said, smiling before she lifted her head up to give him another quick kiss. It was those stupid attractive lips of his that had gotten them in this mess. Made her cheat on Taylor, made her do all sorts of unladylike things. And here they were being the most comforting thing ever. Blake laid her head back and closed her eyes, knowing that within the next five minutes she wouldn’t be able to feel a damn thing anyways.
Blake smiled as she looked down at the gown they had changed her into before giving her the epidural. Now the nurse was working on her left arm which was stretched out onto a side table so she could put her IV in. Blake just tilted her head against the pillow and smiled at Logan. “ Hi.” she said, kissing her finger before she reached her right arm up and touched it against Logan’s nose. “ Isn’t he handsome?” she asked, looking away from Logan to look at the nurse. “ He’s handsome.” she said, answering for her as she gave a small nod. “ Most handsome guy, ever. In fact. We went to high school together. But he can’t tell you any of the classes we had together. I was a dorky sophomore. He was a dreamy senior..” she said, sighing as she recalled the first few times she had seen him. “He was cocky and arrogant, and charming… and I didn’t think he was very talented, bu-..well.. I thought his butt was talented. I mean seriously. His ass looks great in a pair of jeans. Or anything, really. Or nothing” she said giving a small snort before she waved it off at the nurse. “ Whatever, it’s no secret how I got pregnant” she said before taking in a deep breath and giving a loud sigh. “ OH! Actually I got pregnant on a desk,” she said as though it was vital information for the nurse to know. “ Oh no,..” she said, giving a frown as she looked down at her arm bleeding where the nurse was having difficulty starting a vein. “ It’s okay, you’ll get it eventually. Just keep trying” she said, watching as the nurse moved the needle back and forth, trying to figure out how to get the IV to start on her small veins. “ Oh, almost… so close..” she said, watching as the nurse had to switch out supplies since hers was too bloody to keep trying on.
Blake waved at the doctor as he came back into the room and reached back over for her glass of ice chips. “ What’s up, doc?” she said before she snorted to herself from laughing so hard and had to set her ice down. “ Does everyone get it?” she asked looking around the room. “ Logan gets it. Not all brawn that one, he’s got brains too.” she said with a loyal nod in his direction. “ I’m sure he does,” the doctor said with a hearty laugh before he sat down, “ Alright Mrs.Renner, let’s take a look here to see how far along we are”. Blake turned her attention away from the doctor and looked back at the girl working on her arm… still… “ Oh wow, well actually..” he said, backing away slightly before he spoke quietly to a nurse behind him and then looked at Logan and Blake both. “ Well,.. guys this is going to be pretty quick I’m sure, but.. we’re ready to push,” he said, looking at the nurse who was still working on Blake’s arm. That was going to need to be taken care of right now so she could go into labor. He moved over, gently pushing her to the side before he grabbed new supplies, the third set being used on her, and quickly placed in the IV before looking up at them. “ Logan they’ll have supplies for you to put on and I’m going to get ready real quick and I’ll be back.. I’d say we’re ready to go in like five minutes,”[/i]. Blake gasped excitedly as he left and looked back at Logan. “ Lights..camera….action!” she said, pointing at him before the nurse shook her head. “ No honey, you have to push,” she said before Blake frowned and looked at Logan with slight confusion. “ I think she’s unaware that the due date is in two weeks,” she said, giving a small nod in the nurses direction. “ Oh!” she said, snapping her fingers as she pointed at Logan. “ Don’t forget that I need to wrap Mackenzie’s Christmas present still.. it’s just sitting there all willy nilly. What if she walks into the second guest bedroom and goes into the closet and uses the step ladder and looks at the top shelf? She’ll see it. Clear as day.” she said as though that was the worst possible situation. Though, at this point it was probably a pretty good given that her mind was so scared of what was about to happen that she was mentally blocking it out. Couldn’t go into labor if you didn’t acknowledge it, right?

Logan smiled, never letting go of Blake's hand, but smiled at her. A nurse came in to give Blake and IV, so Blake proceeded to tell the nurse all about Logan. Logan laughed out loud, shaking his head, "What? Blake I was a junior, you're boyfriend was a senior. Yeah, I knew that, I knew who you were. Dating the quarterback, she acts like she was invisible or something. Blake was in my World History class. And homeroom." He looked at Blake, smiling faintly. He knew who she was back then. They may not have run with the same crowd, but he knew. Sure he'd spent a lot of time with Scarlet, but it wasn't as if he didn't know who Blake was. She was younger, dating the senior quarterback. Right there put her on the map. She thought he didn't see her, but he noticed the quiet girl across the room with band aid covered fingers and a notebook. He'd recognize fingers like that anywhere, his often looked the same. And no, maybe he hadn't been interested back then, but she was doing the same things he was doing; writing music, trying to make a career for herself much like the one he was trying to make. That, he most definitely noticed. From a distance, yes. But still he had noticed. Logan just shook his head, ignoring the fact that Blake was now sharing the details of her getting pregnant and whatever else popped in to her head. Logan watched as the nurse failed numerous times to put in her IV. Was this lady serious?
Logan smiled at Blake when she made a joke, but was waiting to hear the doctor say how far a long she was. The doctor stated that the Blake was ready to push, and Logan stopped, looking at Blake. "Already?" he asked the doctor, who nodded and told Logan they had stuff ready for him to wear. Blake was still in shock. Logan looked around while Blake talked about a Christmas present and something about the closet, but Logan was trying to mentally prepare. In five minutes, Blake was going to have to start pushing. And then they'd have a baby after that. A daughter. That had to be the most surreal thought he'd had in a while. Like, obviously he knew Blake was pregnant and they'd been through all this and planned and talked abut everything, but it just seemed so, so real now. Their daughter was about to be really, really real. Logan knew he had to talk some sense into Blake before the doctor came back, but before he could say anything, he saw a blonde head peek into the room, and Mackenzie smiled. Logan smiled back, relieved that she had made it. Blake wanted it that way. Mack came in, moving to the side of the bed by Blake, "Hey, how are you doing? Had an epidural?" She asked, probably assuming Blake had since she was being so calm. Mack leaned down to hug Blake and kissed her cheek, "I'm going to be right outside in the waiting room, okay? I'll see you as soon as you want me. Love you," she smiled, giving Blake's hand a squeeze and squeezed Logan's shoulder before she headed back out as someone handed Logan things so put on. He got all suited up and what not, looking at the stuff they gave him. But he moved back to Blake's side, taking her hand, "Blake, listen to me," he said, looking at her softly, "I know you're due date was supposed to be two weeks from now. But she's not waiting." He paused, watching her. He didn't want her to freak out all over again, but she needed to be ready. "She's coming right now, I know you haven't totally grasped that yet, and I haven't either. It's kind of sudden, we weren't expecting this. But now, or two weeks from now, either way, you're ready for this. You know what to expect, you know what's going on. The doctor is gonna be back in here, and you're gonna have to push. We don't have two more weeks, this is happening right now. Okay?" He leaned down, kissing her softly, "You don't need two weeks, you can do this right now. I'll be here, it'll be over before you know it." Logan didn't know what else to tell her. Baby was not gonna wait two more weeks. She was already like her mom, wanted what she wanted, and she wanted right now apparently. "Before you know it you can hold her," he smiled, "That's what we've been waiting for right?" Logan looked up when he heard the doctor coming back in, "Alright, are we all ready?" he asked, looking at Blake. Logan looked back at Blake too, never letting go of her hand. Was she ready? He hoped so.

Blake made a face of disappointment as the doctor took the IV set from the nurse and did it quickly. How was she going to learn if she didn’t get the opportunity to do it, and what better type of patient to try it on than one who really couldn’t care less cause they were all drugged up. Plus, the quicker he moved things along that meant the quicker Blake had to start pushing and she was sort of dreading that more than anything. She looked down at her stomach and took in a deep breath, hardly paying attention at anything that was happening inside the room, people moving around, handing Logan things to put on. But she noticed when Logan smiled at the doorway and looked up to see who was there. She smiled faintly herself seeing Mackenzie, her best friend in the entire world aside from Logan and she had no idea they were naming their daughter after her. Well and Shane, of course. “ Hi” she said nervously, lifting her arm to wrap around Mackenzie’s back as she hugged her. She gave a small nod when Mack said she’d be there as soon as Blake wanted to see her. Blake had always assumed that Mackenzie would be in the delivery room with her, but now that it was happening she just felt so scared that all she wanted was Logan. Plus, it sort of felt like it something personal for them to share. One of those life events where they started their family and could do it on their own, and then share the excitement with the rest of their ‘family’. “ Thank you, I love you” she said, squeezing Mackenzie’s hand back before she left. Mackenzie may not have been through the labor part, but you watch her with Lily now and she pretty much had the mom gig down. Blake sort of envied that about her, what a great mom she was and hoped that she might be able to compare. Though she doubted it. Blake blinked again, the nerves starting to settle in even over the epidural. But she couldn’t help but smile as Logan spoke to her. He was probably the one person in the entire world that had always been able to calm her no matter the situation. It’s what made him to be the perfect producer for her, and eventually the perfect husband. He’d probably have the same skill with their daughter. Though she secretly hoped she’d be a mama’s girl. How could she not be a daddy’s girl? Logan was so enchanting. She traced her thumb over his hand as it was wrapped around hers and gave small nods while he was talking. He might not need two weeks. She felt like she needed two weeks, or any extra time in the world. But he was probably scared too, just trying to hold it together for her sake. But then he said the thing that should’ve been the most obvious thing in the entire world to her. They’d get to hold their daughter, two weeks sooner than they had planned. That was amazing, right? They didn’t have to sit and wonder for two more weeks what it would be like to hold her, they could find out now. Blake smiled slowly and nodded at Logan. “Okay,” she said before giving a small nod to the doctor. “ I’m ready,” she said before sitting up slightly, “ Oh wait, one more kiss” she said, looking at Logan with a small frown. “ You have to love me even when I’m still fat and don’t want to wake up at 2 am to change a diaper” she said in a whisper to him before she squeezed his hand tightly and sat up to give him another kiss.
Watching people give birth on television and in movies, or reading about it in their parenting books, really didn’t do any justice. She was sure she screamed enough to make it sound like she was being murdered, but that’s what it felt like. How could it not? That amount of blood and that amount of flesh being ripped open would be classified as a murder by anyone in their right mind. She’d even abandoned holding Logan’s hand, squeezing that hadn’t been sufficient enough. She needed something harder to hold onto, like the railing of the bed. Every concert, or physical activity she’d been forced to be a part of, had not led her to sweat as much as she had in this moment and she was fairly certain Logan would probably never look at her as the dainty country bumpkin ever again. Her heart felt like it was literally going to explode out of her chest, breathing was difficult which was frustrating by the amount of times the doctor repeatedly told her to take in a deep breath and push. Easy for him to say. She had always known she would walk through hell and back to be with Logan, even for a moment. That kind of love overpowered any physical damage that could have happened to her, she just never thought it was possible for that type of love to exist for someone else to. But with one final push it was like her entire body completely caved into rest mode. Her muscles relaxed and she instantly sank back against the bed, laying her head back against the pillow. Forget the blood, and pain. It was the heat that was going to kill her. She brought her hand up slowly to her forehead before she opened her eyes again. Shouldn’t the baby be crying by now? But maybe time was just moving slowly for her. Now that her work was done it seemed like everyone else was in a frenzy. Maybe they had been before and she just hadn’t noticed. Logan was being handed scissors to cut the umbilical cord, after which they took little Kenzie away and cleared out her nostrils and mouth before she let out a piercing cry, meaning she was breathing and everything was fine. Blake’s heart jumped in relief and she felt herself tear up, wiping her hands at her face and suddenly not caring that the doctor was busy stitching her up and having to force her to stay still. She watched , for the first time in her life, speechless as the nurse finished cleaning off their daughter and brought her over to Logan.

Logan looked back at Blake, saying she was ready. He was pretty sure she hadn't heard half of what he had said to her but something had gotten through to her at least. The remaining time between that moment and when Blake actually started pushing seemed like a blur. Logan held her hand for as long as she wanted it, and when she resorted to holding the rail on the bed he brushed the loose hair off her face. He was nervous, hoping that everything was going according to plan. It was a difficult concept for Logan to grasp. Just a year ago he had barely known Blake, but had become completely inseparable with her. And now... pretty soon her she was making him a dad. He kept wondering what Kenzie was going to look like, whose eyes would she have, would she have Blake's crazy beautiful hair that he loved. He already knew she was determined like her mom, a miniature diva it seemed. He wondered what traits she'd get from him. He could feel his heart beating, practically right out of his chest. He couldn't even imagine what Blake must be feeling. He hoped for both of their sakes that this was over soon, because obviously giving birth wasn't the most pleasant experience for Blake and Logan just didn't like seeing her have to go through it. The bright side was that it would be worth it. After all the waiting they'd finally have Kenzie with them.
Even though Blake had clearly relaxed, the rest of them in the room were still diligently at work. Logan looked up when someone handed him scissors, reaching down to cut the cord and he finally saw her for the first time. She still had to be cleaned up, but he had seen her. They whisked her away to clear her airways and clean her up a bit, but Logan felt like he was holding his breath. Now that he'd seen her he just wanted to see her some more. He heard her finally cry, and then they brought her over, wrapped up and handed Kenzie to Logan. He took his daughter in his arms, feeling the biggest sense of relief wash over him as he looked into her little face and realized she was looking back at him. His breath caught in his throat for a second when Kenzie's eyes locked on his and he smiled at her, barely believing he was finally holding his daughter in his arms. He was speechless. Logan looked over at Blake, and sat back down beside her, holding Kenzie between them. He looked at Blake, seeing that she had teared up. He hadn't even realized that he had too. The entire thing was just so surreal, they had a little family. Now he had two beautiful girls. Logan didn't really want to hand her off, if he could he felt he would hold her forever, but he gave her to Blake to hold, smiling at the sight of both his girls together. He hadn't said anything yet, and he wasn't sure he could. He was still speechless. All he could do was smile at the fact that it was all real, and Kenzie was finally theirs to hold and love on her, because God knows that kid was already loved more than she knew.

Blake paid no attention to the doctor as he continued to work on her and instead kept all of her focus on the new center of her and Logan’s world, watching as the nurses worked on her and handed her off to Logan. When she had first met Logan Renner there wasn’t a chance in hell she would have ever thought he was ready for this, or that he would be good at it. He was good at his job, yeah.. but he had so much growing up to do. To be fair, so did she. And here he was, staring at their daughter with all the love in the world and that meant more to her than any love he could have felt for her. He was the best man she knew, and he’d given her a gift she’d never be able to thank him enough for. But it was also one that she wouldn’t want to share with anyone else in the world. All of the hard work she’d done for her career, all of the preparation she did for each album, each success. It had started off as her own, wanting to prove it to herself, then it had transformed into wanting to be Logan’s little album darling, and now she realized that any success she had was purely for the beautiful girl being held in Logan’s arms. Blake smiled, not even realizing she had teared up before she reached her arms out and held onto their daughter. It seemed so strange that something so magnetic and overpowering with both her and Logans love was so tiny, and took up such little space. She rested her gently against her arms, still unable to find any words for herself, which was strange considering her words and being able to string them together seamlessly was sort of what she was known for. Blake looked back at Logan, knowing he probably wanted to hold her just as much as she did so instead she tilted her head to the side a bit, beckoning for him to join her on the bed. Blake wrapped one arm carefully around Kenzie before she pushed her other hand against the bed and winced slightly as she moved to the side, to give Logan more room against the bed so that they could both hold her.
Blake touched the side of her fingertip gently against Kenzie’s cheek before she smiled to herself, perfectly content with just letting silence speak volumes between her and Logan. But one of them had to say something eventually, it’s just.. what could you say that could possibly compare to this moment. Blake smiled faintly still mesmerized by how gorgeous she was until she sang quietly, almost beneath her breath as she sang out the lyrics, “ There’s no one that can top that smile. Girl you got me.. lovestruck” she said, her faint smile growing into a wider one before she turned her head and gave Logan a quick kiss. It was weird how when she had gotten to the hospital, all of her thoughts were still scrambling on her friends, what she needed to do for them, what they could do for her. But in a matter of minutes it felt like her, Logan, and their child were the only people on the face of the Earth.
