Joel smiled as he looked out at the crowd of fans, early in the morning, all in the name of Christmas. And getting a chance to see some of their favorite artists sing live. It was cold outside, still snowing since it had started early this morning, but it fit the theme of the show perfectly. Good Morning America was doing a holiday themed special, and after an interview he’d been doing a few songs. There had been a lot to cover, his tour coming up next month, what the holidays meant to him, how he’d be spending it… and of course they had to ask him about the birth of Logan and Blake’s kid and what it meant for the tycoon couple. Then they had decided to ask about his friendship with Natalia, what it meant that Ethan had been seen with his other good friend Rosie, and what he got Dani for the holidays. But it had gone by quickly, and a few songs later here he was singing his new favorite holiday single, Mistletoe. Joel smiled slowly as he sang the opening lyrics, looking up to see the mistletoe that was placed delicately around the stage before he walked over to the side of the stage, holding his hand out to Dani. He waited for a moment before she took her hand and then walked backwards, pulling her out onto the stage with him before he watched her, singing every word to her.

Joel smiled as he looked down at her, wrapping his hand delicately into the side of her hair. He wondered if he’d actually ever find love, the way he described it. It wasn’t that he didn’t actually want to take Dani out on a date, it was that she was already dating someone. Though he couldn’t figure out who it was for the life of him. He didn’t think Lance and Dani would have an affair, but he supposed crazier things had happened. But he sort of had a feeling he had more fun faking a relationship with Dani right now, than he would with an actual relationship. He didn’t have time for that. Or the patience He was a great friend to have, but a horrible boyfriend. But the fact of the matter was that he knew that. He could easily string a girl along, have her at his beck and call whenever it was convenient for him. But how fair would that be? Just because he was famous and career driven didn’t mean he needed to be a dick. He just didn’t care enough to hook up with a girl to deal with the drama that came along with it, and the lack of focus for his career. But he had learned how to sell this relationship with Dani. He knew how people would react to it, how they were ‘cutesy’, how fans would simultaneously hate that they were dating, while at the same time find it adorable that he serenaded her. It kept him an object of attraction, but also let them know he was unavailable. Which in his mind, he was. Though he wasn’t really sure what Dani got out of it. Something apparently, cause she stuck around. As the song came to an end Joel finally grinned from ear to ear, pulling Dani close to him by holding his hand on her waist and laid a kiss on her. Joel rested his forehead against hers before he held her wrist of her hand she had brought up to his face and gave her another quick kiss. “ One more song?” he questioned into the mic though he kept his gaze on Dani and smiled again before looking out to the crowd. “ I believe she knows the words to Baby, It’s Cold Outside. How about you guys?’ he questioned, rubbing his hands quickly together before he held back onto the microphone and waited for the song to start.

Dani crossed her arms, watching Joel as he sang out to girls who probably had his poster in their bedroom. Awkward. For being such a cocky little jerk, he had this uncanny way of being completely loveable. Who in the world managed to do that? Joel Foster. Dating him wasn’t the most luxurious thing she could see herself doing, but it helped keep the heat off of her and Jake from the media, which was important to her. Despite recent activities at Joels’ party. Dani coughed to herself, remembering the way she had behaved and pushed her hair from her face. Stupid alcohol. If she could just wait a few more weeks… just another month… the show was ending soon, then her contract with Disney would be up and no one could say a damn word about her being with Jake. Or about living with him, the whole living in sin bit. And what a fun sin it was. Dani smiled as she snapped out of her daydream of thinking about Jake and noticed that Joel was holding his hand out to her, singing to his song Mistletoe. Dani took in a deep breath and shook her head as she offered him a smile but placed her hand in his, letting him lead her out to the stage where he continued to sing. Alright, she had to admit. Whether she’d date him or not, or whether or not she was available, really didn’t matter. Kid had game. After he finished the song and kissed her, Dani brought her hand up to the side of his cheek and rolled her eyes as he placed his forehead against hers. Adorable. Dani licked her lips and looked away, starting to walk off the stage when he asked her to stay and sing Baby, It’s Cold Outside. Dani shook her head and hand as a sign of refusal, but who was she kidding. Joel Foster always got his way, part of his appeal. He was sweet and could woo people into what he wanted. Like forcing the stage assistant to put a microphone in her hand.

Dani licked her lips again before she looked out to the crowd and then brought the microphone, placing her hand on her stomach as she sang towards him, trying to keep her eyes on him but he was moving all over the stage, circling around her, taking her hand in his own and spinning her. Dani had to laugh as she sang some of the lyrics. At least he liked to have fun. But with the lyrics all she could think of was getting home to see Jake, cuddling up, yelling at him to turn off his xbox so that they could watch some Christmas movie together. But when she looked off to the side she saw Lance standing there and completely lost track of what they were singing. She smiled slowly as she saw him and waved her fingers away from the microphone, mouthing ‘hi’ as she looked at him. It was so rare that you saw him outside of the house these days so she wondered why he had come here. Maybe he’d given Joel a ride since they were roommates. That was one thing she wondered about with Lance. He didn’t seem keen on the idea that his best friend was dating her, but then his roommate was making out with her all over the place. Poor guy couldn’t get away from it. Dani snapped back to attention when Joel wrapped his arm around her shoulders and gave her a hug as the song ended. “ Dani Cooper everybody,” he said before he gave a slight bow in her direction. Dani squeezed Joels’ hand tightly before she kissed his cheek and waved out at the crowd. She handed off her microphone and ran off to the side of the stage where she ran towards Lance and engulfed him in a hug.

Lance took a drink from his coffee, hating the cold that was covering New York like some wicked bitch. He seriously hated cold, and everything to do with it. But he’d been out the last few days. Logan and Blake had delivered their gorgeous baby girl Kenzie, so he’d left to go see her, and now he’d wanted to come out to see Joel perform, but more importantly he sort of wanted to see Dani. Ever since the revelation of who she was dating occurred he hadn’t exactly been the nicest to her. He stuck up for her when she needed him at her court appearance, sure he was around, but he was often brooding when they were in a close distance of one another. He had said everything was okay, he hadn’t attacked her anymore, just remained silent, an awkward elephant in the room every time their entire group was together. But now he just wanted things to go back to normal. As much as they could. He was sick of looking at Jake and Dani and feeling like they had done him wrong. They just followed their hearts. Whose to say he wouldn’t have done the same with Kiersten had he met her sooner. But he smiled as Dani noticed him standing offstage and gave her a small nod. He waited as the song ended,watching as Joel played the part of the endearing boyfriend so well. The one thing Joel never wanted to be, and he made it look effortless. Suddenly, Dani was running towards Lance, wrapping her arms around him as tightly as her small frame could and Lance laughed, holding his coffee out to the side so he wouldn’t spill it on her before he wrapped his arms around her. “ Hey there Coop…” he said before he tightened his arms around her in a hug.

“ Do you have time to grab a coffee?” he asked before he let her go and leaned back. “Of course” she said, “ Just let me grab my jacket” she said before Lance held it up for her. “ Ready?” he said with a small grin, holding it out so she could slide it on. After she said goodbye to a few people Lance held his arm out so that she could loop her arm through it. The sidewalks were icy and he didn’t want her to fall down. “ So I thought that I would give you your Christmas present today. I’ll be spending the next few days with Kiersten since her and Mackenzie are going home for the holidays, and I’ll probably be with Logan and Blake and..Kenzie.. so…” he started off , looking down the street to see how far the coffee house he wanted to take her was. “ Oh no, Lance. We can’t do that. I don’t have your present with me, we can do it another ti-“, Lance laughed, shaking his head quickly. “Come on, I said I wanted to give you your present. Not that I expected mine. Besides.. there’s no way you can give me my present. It must be too heavy for you carry, you’ll need help,” he teased, opening the door for her to the coffee shop. Lance licked his lips as he saw a few paparazzi down the street. Awesome. So what would it be, him and Dani having an affair? He wasn’t over her? Joel was going to be jealous? Great headlines.

Lance went to the stand, ordering them each their different drinks before he brought them to the table that Dani had perched herself at and sat down. He slid his jacket off before setting it on the back of his chair. “ Oh,” he said, reaching back into his coat before he took out an envelope and set it on the table. “ ….. Really… you shouldn’t have” Dani said to him, looking down at the envelope with what looked like a mixture of skepticism and forced happiness. Lance laughed and shook his head, “ Just open it, chica” he said as he leaned back and picked up his coffee. He watched the envelope carefully before he looked up at Dani and offered a small smile. This present wasn’t something she couldn’t have gotten herself, but it was a huge sign of how he felt about her, and the situation they were in. “Feliz navidad, senora Cooper” he said with a small grin before he lifted his cup to her as she started to tear open into the envelope.

Madeline wrapped her coat tightly around herself as she watched Joel perform on stage and smiled as she watched his fans singing along with him. It was so amazing to see him reach for his dream and to be there to watch as it was coming true for him. She clapped her hands along with others when he brought Dani out on stage. If only they would really date, they were just so cute together. But she knew from Joel and Ryan that the relationship was fake. If only… But she did wonder who the girl was dating in real life. Once they had finished their set, Madeline narrowed her eyebrows as she watched Dani running off and basically running into Lance’s arms where they hugged. Not only that but when they walked away, Dani hooked her arm through Lance’s. What the… She stood on her toes as she watched. If Lance was cheating on Kiersten, he’d have more than one person lining up to kick his ass. But she was instantly distracted by Joel singing another song. She went to take another look at Dani and Lance, but this time she couldn’t find them. Either way,the show was almost over soon so Madeline made her way to a part of the stage where she’d be able to see Joel once he came off the stage.

Holding the bag tightly she smiled as he finished, shaking hands with a few people working on the performance and then gave a few fans some hugs and signed autographs. Finally he made his way over to her and Madeline hugged him lovingly. “ Aw little brother” she said, kissing his cheek before she squeezed him again tightly. “ I brought your present,” she said, holding the small bag up before she moved it from side to side. “ Patrick and I are going to be gone for the holidays so I thought you and I could spend the day together. Logan even cleared your schedule for me. Sweet, right?” she said with a smile before she wrapped her arm around his shoulder and started to walk away from the set. “Merry Christmas, Joel,” she said, holding the bag in front of him until he took it away from her and started to dig through it.

There wasn’t anything in the world that Joel loved more than being on stage. It was a feeling he wouldn’t trade for anything at all, and he wished that David would have felt something this passionate, maybe he wouldn’t have decided to take his own life had he known what it was like to feel this sense of bliss. After he wrapped up his last song he handed the microphone off, leaning down to sign a few autographs and gave hugs to few audience members who had climbed their way into being nearly eye level with him. He could see that Madeline was waiting for him so he did his best to hurry up and head over to her. “ Hey,” he said happily, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. “ Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes,” he grinned before he listened to her explain why she was there. He gave a small nod, “ A day with you sounds perfect,” he said, turning to walk with her. “ I’d do anything for a present,” he said with a slight tone of sarcasm as he looked over his shoulder wondering where Dani had gone off too. He looked down inside of the bag, taking the wrapping paper out and smiled as he took out a calendar that Madeline had created for him. All Rosie. Twelve months of that beautiful woman. “ Look at that, a Rosie that can travel with me,” he said with a slight grin at Madeline. “Two more,” she said, tilting her head to the bag.

Joel reached back into the bag before he took out a set of keys and narrowed his eyebrows before he looked at Madeline. She smiled slowly before she offered, “ Logan said you were pretty obsessed with the car from your Mistletoe photoshoot… so it’s waiting for you at your apartment. And um.. well tell Logan that I offered him to teach you how to drive,” she said with a small laugh. There wasn’t a chance she could teach him. She had no idea how to. Joel looked down at the keys in his hand. Holy shit. He had drooled over that thing for three days and now it was all his. “ Madeline, that’s…. so kicks the present I got you ass” he said, but looked over at her as she gave a small shrug, not really caring. He reached back into the bag, not sure how anything could top that when his fingers clasped around some more metal. Joel narrowed his eyebrows and pulled out the watch before he stopped walking completely and could feel his heart pounding through is chest. “ This is the watch you gave David last Christmas” he said blankly before Madeline stopped and walked in front of him. “ Yes,” she said quietly, causing Joel to give a small nod. He traced his thumb over the face of the watch before he pushed his sleeve up on his left arm and put the watch on. He couldn’t even describe how he felt about it. Unreal. He hated the guy for leaving him, but he still missed him more than he could ever express. “ Thank you,” he said quietly, sniffing quickly so he could try to fight back tears before he pulled Madeline in for a tight hug and buried his face into her shoulder:

Dani sat at the table before she took her jacket off and unwrapped the scarf from around her throat. She smiled at a few small girls and wiggled her fingers at them in a wave before she reached down to take her phone out of her jacket pocket. She hadn’t heard from Jake in a few hours, so he was probably working out. Or playing xbox. Or sleeping… doing anything to avoid watching Good Morning America. She smiled as she looked down at the picture of them together as the backdrop on her phone. God he was amazing. Made her want to pull her hair out sometimes but he was everything she wanted and more. And surprisingly he made the things she didn’t want endearing, or atleast tolerable. She watched as Lance paid for their coffees and smiled faintly to herself. He had been a good boyfriend, but she just wasn’t in love with him. Not the way she felt for Jake. She had even been dating Lance for goodness sake when she’d felt that pull towards Jake. He had annoyed her, gotten under her skin, made her want to pull her hair out, but she still found herself wanting to spend time with him, to make him smile, find out what his lips tasted like. Fortunately he had felt the same way and she knew she would never care about someone as much as she cared about him. Not to mention he was holding her up through a pretty difficult time right now. She’d be a mess without him, would literally crumble to pieces.

Dani looked down at the envelope on the table, wondering what in the hell could have made Lance want to come out here in order to give her something that would have fit in an envelope. She laughed sarcastically as he tried to speak Spanish to her in his british accent. Jake was adorable when he did it. “ If I give myself a papercut you won’t find my Spanish heritage so endearing,” she said before she finally opened the envelope completely and pulled out was inside. Four airplane tickets. Dani blinked before she read all of them. Two for Mexico. Two for Italy. She tried to think of what to say before she looked up at Lance. He smiled, offering her an explanation. “ You two are always going off about your different heritages. He speaks to you in Spanish and Italian. You try to cook both cuisines for him. You don’t even have to visit family back in each others countries, I just thought you might want to experience it together… it’s important you know.. for continuing your lives together,” Dani smiled as she looked back down at the tickets. It meant a lot, to be able to share those things with Jake. Especially when she could find a time to do this along with the court hearings. But it also meant a lot that Lance was finally okay with everything. “ Lance this is perfect,” she said, setting the envelope down before she sat up and walked over to give him a hug.
