Dani tilted her head as she looked out the window of the room she was in. Currently she was at a morning show and was slated to perform a song and then do a quick interview afterwards since she had some new projects coming up. She had to admit she was a bit nervous. It was the first time she was publically doing anything work related since Joel’s incident and she knew that they would be asking her about him. She smiled faintly as she looked at some of the little girls that were lined up, just hoping for a chance to see her. Since when had they all become so important? She bit the inside of her lip, still thinking about Joel before it hit her what exactly he would do in this situation. Just because Joel wasn’t conscious didn’t mean he couldn’t still live through all of them. “ Excuse me,” Dani said, making her way out of the room before one of the assistant producers looked at her alarmingly. ‘ Where are you going?’. Dani stopped, looking over her shoulder at her team from Taboo before she looked at the producer and offered a polite smile. “ Just to powder my nose,” she said simply, leaving the room calmly. Once she shut the door she ran off quickly in her heels until she reached outside.
Dani smiled as she spotted the same group of little girls amongst the rest of her fans that she had been looking at through the window. She stood still for a moment before she ran her hand over her hair and the rest of her outfit and calmly made her way over to them, giving a polite wave and smile to everyone else, stopping for an autograph or two on her way. Once she stepped in front of the railing, directly in front of them she crossed her hands over one another and smiled down at them. “ You’ve come to see me today?” she questioned happily. The little gasp from them was incredibly adorable and she tried to pay close attention to what they were saying. ‘ I’m your biggest fan.. My name is Abigail and this is my best friend Lauren. She’s Natalia Richmond’s biggest fan.’ the little girl with blonde curls said before pointing to her friend with long brown hair next to her. “ Well Team Natalia is a very impressive team to be on..” Dani said with a serious nod before she unfolded her hands and placed them against her knees so she could kneel down. “ And I happen to know for a fact that she would think your hair was very beautiful..” she said, placing her fingers against the long brown strands of hair that fell over the girls shoulder. “ Could you do me a favor?” she asked, giving a smile to both of them. Both of the little girls looked at each other before giving a great big nod and looked back at her. “ Oh, thank goodness.. because see.. I was hoping to get a picture with you two. I’ve never seen such cute little girls dressed like princesses and I was hoping I would be able to share that with Natalia…” she said, smiling down at the little dresses that the girls were wearing. ‘ We can do that!” they both shouted at the same time. Dani placed on a relieved smile. “ Thank you so much.. it will mean so much to both of us,” she said before looking over her shoulder at security. She placed her hand on the railing and carefully climbed over it, placing her heels onto the pavement before she looked back at the parents, hoping that one of them would have a camera. The kids were young enough to not notice that Dani hadn’t come out with a camera, but this wasn’t for her anyways. “ Okay,” she said, kneeling down in her skirt so that she was at the same level as they were and wrapped her arms around each of them. After they took the picture she stood back up and looked down at each of them, “ Now just remember… just because you don’t dress like a princess every day.. it doesn’t mean you aren’t one,” she said before she looked at the parents and then back at the girls before she took in a deep breath and turned back to the attention of the parents. “ Would you like to join us on set today?” she asked before turning back to security who was moving the small gate for them and then moved back towards the building. She waited for the girls to catch up with her before she placed her hand in each of theirs and walked back into the studio for taping the morning show.
Dani smiled in her make up chair, watching in the reflection as the girls were going through different bowls of candy and playing with the headsets of different set assistants who looked like their patience was running thin. Once her make up was finished she placed her hands on the chair she was sitting in and hopped up, talking into her microphone to test it to make sure that the sound was coming back appropriately. For being interns, Zoe and Felicia seemed to be running the damn thing pretty well. Dani walked up to the microphone, and out of nowhere she heard herself saying words she hadn’t even realized she thought, or even acknowledged until this moment, “ This song was inspired by my amazing,… beautiful group of friends. Felicia, Zoe,.. Kiersten, Claire.. each of them is insanely beautiful and it made me realize that no one can tell you that you’re something when you’re not, to dream for whatever your heart wants, and to always have faith in yourself. These girls inspired it,.. but Joel Foster sort of lived it. His work is about reaching out to every single person and making them feel like their bigger than all of this. It’s called Who Says.. “ she said before she gave a small nod when the music started. Singing a song like this was sort of more difficult than Dani had anticipated. Primarily because Joel was so heavily on her mind right now anyways, so when her fans were singing her song back to her and all she could think of was how out of all of them.. Joel was the only one that deserved this, she felt her throat catch a few times and had to turn away to keep from crying. But thankfully the next set was a little bit more energetic. Hit The Lights was her favorite song of the album, and was written for how she felt when her and Jake wouldn’t have to hide anymore.
Dani waited until the cue for commercial before she headed back inside to the set with the chair for her and her interviewer. She puckered out her lips, letting them reapply her lipgloss as she walked, telling her random things. “ Has anyone heard back from Jake?” she asked, ignoring all of their questions. She’d been trying to get ahold of him for a few hours and it seemed like they were playing phone tag. “ Who?” one of the girls asked, looking up from her clipboard. Dani stopped walking and turned abruptly to look at her. “ Jake Russo. Tall. Hot. Famous hot tv star… “ she said lifting her eyebrow. The girl tilted her head as she looked at Dani. Dani scoffed and rolled her eyes, walking away as she muttered, “ Please, I see you drooling over him every time he is within ten feet of me,…. Acting like she doesn’t know who Jake Russo is,” she said, taking a Kleenex from someone else and blotting her lip gloss before she sat down in her chair. Just in time, too, because it seemed as soon as she sat down the interviewer was starting off already. “ Thank you so much for joining us in the middle of what seems like a busy week for you,” she started off. “ Oh, it’s absolutely my pleasure,” Dani said, leaning her arm against the arm of the chair as she crossed her legs and made herself more comfortable.
“ Who Says has such a great message behind it, and even the other song you played Hit The Lights.. it seems like the big message behind your album is to dream big and to go for what your passion is, live in the moment… how are you looking forward to taking that out on the road during your tour?”. Dani scratched the side of her neck and laughed quietly, “ I’m not really sure we’ve officially announced a tour yet, but I think um.. no it’s great, that’s definitely a message that needs to be spread out. Life is short, don’t let other peoples opinions restrict you or define you. Go after what you want, do anything to make it happen and don’t let people tell you no. Don’t take anything for granted and remember to live life to the fullest.” she said. Isn’t that what they all wanted anyways? ‘ And speaking of living life to the fullest, we’ve got news that you signed on for a new movie that’s got a bit more of an adult feel to it. Are you looking forward to moving on and putting Disney behind you?”. Dani laughed, the question every former Disney star got. “ Oh my gosh I don’t think any of us actually ever get the House of Mouse behind us, but no it was a great experience. I found everything on that part of my life that I would need for.. well the rest of my life. I learned the importance of responsibility, family. I was able to learn a bit more about acting and.. I mean I found the person I’m in love with. Disney was a great experience for me and something I’ll always cherish. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for them. I wouldn’t have these opportunities. I wouldn’t be in love,” she said, unable to stop the faint of a smile that came to her lips every time she thought about Jake.
“ How are things going with Jake? It must be such a relief to not be in the shadows anymore. And we’ve certainly seen your photos together in the tabloids. Walking down the streets, holding hands, going out to dinners. You two still look very much in love,”. Dani grinned brighter this time and nodded. “ He’s great. He’s got a few projects that have been offered to him and he’s sort of taking his time to see what would be best for his career, whichever direction he decides to take it. It is nice.. to not have to hide something that’s a part of your life and that is so significantly important to you. I don’t feel like I’m hiding a part of myself anymore,”. She already missed him. She already wanted to get home and yell at him about whatever tiny mess he left. “ One thing that your label as a whole hasn’t hidden is the impact of Joel’s accident and how it is has effected each and every one of you. It seems that there’s actually been a benefit concert planned where some of you will be singing his songs for his fans that had already procured tickets for his tour,. Dani blinked and gave a quick smile. She wasn’t sure if Logan had released that information yet and since he wasn’t here to give the nod she decided it was best to talk about Joel and not the benefit concert. “ Joel is something that can’t be hidden no matter what the circumstance. He’s bold and full of energy and he’s extremely infectious. Each of us have carried a piece of him with us since the day we met him. But for him specifically to have been injured in our label is sort of um.. he’s sort of the heart of our label. He’s everybody’s little brother. So it was definitely an impact, and the fans.. good lord the fans are amazing. So many of us just sit in his studio and read the fanmail. The letters don’t go unread, the thoughts and the prayers don’t go unnoticed. We’re all sincerely grateful for everything that everyone is doing and continue they hope to do so. Joel hasn’t given up his fight yet, so neither should we.”, she had trailed off, speaking a bit more quietly towards the end but it was true. And right now in this moment the only thing she wanted to do was to hug Ryan. In fact she was so out of focus that the interviewer asked a few more questions but Dani was so robotic that she was answering them without realizing she was speaking. “ On an unfortunate note, we found out a few moments ago that there have been allegations involving you and Jake in regards to a sex tape surfacing by an unknown seller. How do you plan on handling such types of events and do you believe it harnesses your role model status towards young girls” Dani froze in her seat instantly and swore the next few moments happened in slow motion. It was absolute silence followed by the sound of coffee being spit out. She didn’t need to look over her shoulder to know that it was Zoe. Not to mention the fact that she and Felicia were both scrambling through their papers. Looking for an answer on what to do. Well they weren’t going to find it in there.
“ It’s ridiculous the things that people come up with, isn’t it?” Dani asked calmly, though she sort of felt like she was freaking out on the inside. Which was preposterous because her and Jake had never filmed a sex tape. Ever. Not their type of boudoir activity. But quickly they were going to commercial break and as soon as they were off the air she could hear Felicia yelling, “ What were you THINKING?” towards one of the staff members. Dani stood up out of her chair, not even looking at the interviewer. “ I can’t finish this interview,” Dani said quietly to Zoe who was on the phone with Logan, ‘ Felicia is handling it, I’m on my way to the studio for damage control’. Dani felt her arm being gripped by someone in her group and turned to see her wardrobe stylist who was offering her an outfit to change into. Not a chance in hell did she want paparazzi recognizing her and yelling at her about this latest revelation. “ No, I need to talk to Jake!” she yelled out at her assistant as her hair stylist was pulling her hair up into a bun so they could put a hat on her. Zoe walked up to her calmly, putting her phone to her chest which probably still had Logan on the other line. “ Dani… I just need to know. Is there a sex tape? I don’t care, I won’t judge you.. Jake is fine as hell.. we just need to know what we’re working with,”. Dani made an annoyed expression , “ What? Zoe. No. There is no sex tape, I don’t know what this person is selling. It has to be a fake somehow,” she said, not even realizing she was putting her arms into the jacket that her stylist was pulling over her.
Dani sighed as Zoe walked away and then looked towards her assistant who was holding her phone out as it rang. “ Jake!” she said out of relief. Though she didn’t stop to look at who was calling her, she just assumed. Big mistake. “ Jake, were you watching?” she asked as she placed the phone against her ear. This didn’t just effect her. It effected Jake’s reputation as well. And what would their grandmothers think? ‘ Hi princess’ the voice said on the other end of the phone and Dani froze, looking over both of her shoulders as though she expected him to be in the studio. ‘ Being in prison taught me a few things. How to break into someones home. The importance of cameras so small that people don’t notice them.. I saw enough to know that you still have your nightmares. And I saw a little more that the media might be interested in.’ . Dani felt the tears start to form up in her eyes. Violating her himself hadn’t been enough, now he’d violated her and Jake’s privacy. “ You son of a bitch,” she said, trying to comprehend why in the hell he would do this. ‘ Ahh, shh princess. Don’t get worked up. We’re just having a little fun is all. But um.. tell Jake welcome to the club. As far as I know it’s a remote club, and he’s best friends with the only other member,”[/b]. Dani reminded herself to breathe. “ What do you want?” she asked, trying hard not to lose it in the middle of the studio. ‘ Payback. And maybe to expose you a little more. Goodbye, princess’. Dani lowered the phone from her ear and looked down at it. How in the hell had he gotten her number.She stood there for what felt like a hundred years, but was realistically a few seconds before she sprang into action and threw her phone away into the nearest trash can. Well she needed a new one of those. And she needed Logan. “ Taboo records please” she said to her driver.
Instinctively she reached into her pocket for her phone so she could get ahold of Jake and cursed beneath her breath. Right you threw it away. Smooth move, Einstein. It wasn’t until the car pulled up to Taboo Records that she sort of let it sink in that this was happening. She ran into the studio, peeling off her scarf and unbuttoning her jacket as she ran onto the elevator. Once she go to the floor with a few of the studios and Logans office she ran down the hallway as quick as she could. She stopped on her heels, turning back to the Maine’s studio. It sounded like he was recording, which meant a lot to Ryan so she knew she shouldn’t interrupt but she needed him. “ Ryan!” she yelled, smacking her hand against the glass that separated them. She gestured for him to follow her before she ran back out of his studio and towards Logan’s office. She ignored his secretary who said he was in a meeting, it probably had everything to do with her. What other meeting could he be doing right now. She pushed the doors open and looked at the person sitting opposite Logan. “ Out, get out.” she said, a lot more rude to someone than she normally was – that wasn’t Jake. She needed it to just be her, Logan and Ryan. Ryan knew everything . But he wasn’t in charge of handling her career. Logan needed to know now too, she’d kept him in the dark long enough. Once Ryan came in and the meeting was over and the door shut she broke into tears instantly, sobbing out of control as she looked at Logan and pleaded to him, “ I need your help,”. It wasn’t even about her career anymore. She felt like this man was in control of every factor of her life. He haunted her dreams, her private life was about court, and now he was attacking her professional life. She was exhausted, and she couldn’t handle it anymore.

How in the hell had he gotten her number.She stood there for what felt like a hundred years, but was realistically a few seconds before she sprang into action and threw her phone away into the nearest trash can. Well she needed a new one of those. And she needed Logan. “ Taboo records please” she said to her driver.
Instinctively she reached into her pocket for her phone so she could get ahold of Jake and cursed beneath her breath. Right you threw it away. Smooth move, Einstein. It wasn’t until the car pulled up to Taboo Records that she sort of let it sink in that this was happening. She ran into the studio, peeling off her scarf and unbuttoning her jacket as she ran onto the elevator. Once she go to the floor with a few of the studios and Logans office she ran down the hallway as quick as she could. She stopped on her heels, turning back to the Maine’s studio. It sounded like he was recording, which meant a lot to Ryan so she knew she shouldn’t interrupt but she needed him. “ Ryan!” she yelled, smacking her hand against the glass that separated them. She gestured for him to follow her before she ran back out of his studio and towards Logan’s office. She ignored his secretary who said he was in a meeting, it probably had everything to do with her. What other meeting could he be doing right now. She pushed the doors open and looked at the person sitting opposite Logan. “ Out, get out.” she said, a lot more rude to someone than she normally was – that wasn’t Jake. She needed it to just be her, Logan and Ryan. Ryan knew everything . But he wasn’t in charge of handling her career. Logan needed to know now too, she’d kept him in the dark long enough. Once Ryan came in and the meeting was over and the door shut she broke into tears instantly, sobbing out of control as she looked at Logan and pleaded to him, “ I need your help,”. It wasn’t even about her career anymore. She felt like this man was in control of every factor of her life. He haunted her dreams, her private life was about court, and now he was attacking her professional life. She was exhausted, and she couldn’t handle it anymore.
