[Dani/Joel/Justin] Feeling Out Of Place

Faith was woken up in the strangest way this morning. There was a limo outside of her house and old man at her front door. The man had told her that Joel wanted her to go with him and to just pack an outfit and her necessities. Confused, Faith did what the man had said but texted Joel. Just to see if this man was legit. After it was all cleared up, Faith was on her way to the airport. Not knowing what was in store for her, Faith tried to get it out of the driver. He told her that she was going to Los Angeles and that's all she could know. Once Faith got on the plane, it hit her. Dani, Joel and Justin were in LA. Good thing Faith had brought something somewhat cute to put on for when she arrived. The flight was going to be a few hours and Faith was exhausted. Waking up at 7 was not what she had planned for today. Once the plane was in the air, Faith curled up on the couch and drifted off to sleep.

About 2 1/2 hours later Faith woke up and looked around. She quickly sat up and smiled. She had thought it was all a dream, that she would wake up in her bed, disappointed. But here she was, she was really on Joel's plane heading to LA. Faith let out a sigh and reached for her bag. Just then an attendant came in, "I didn't want to wake you. Would you like something to drink?" Faith nodded sleepily, "Yes, uh, water please." "Sure thing." Faith smiled and pulled out the shirt, skirt and shoes she had planned to wear. Good thing she brought a pair of her Louboutins. The woman came back with her water, "Anything else I can get you?" Faith shook her head and then looked up, "Oh, how much longer?" "About and hour and a half." "Thank you." Faith took a sip of her water and then picked up her clothes and headed into the bathroom. It was so hard to change in there, she should have just stayed out where she was. It wasn't like the attendant was creeping on her or anything. After about 15 minutes of struggling to get dressed, Faith stepped out of the bathroom. "Phew," she said as she tossed her pjs down on the couch. She set up her make up on small table infront of her along with her mirror, "Gosh I look a hot mess." Faith brushed her hair out. She plugged her iPOD into the speakers and turned it up. She started dancing to the music as she picked out her makeup.

After about 45 minutes Faith was packing all her stuff back up and placed it neatly on the couch. She slipped her shoes on, walked over to the window seat and just stared out. She took a picture and thought about posting it to Instagram but then decided against it, Justin might see it. She didn't know if this was a surprise for him and she didn't want to ruin it. Faith closed her eyes and just took it all in. Before she knew it they were landing. She felt her heart racing. This was so exciting. The attendant helped her put her stuff in the limo, "Thank you for everything." she said as she got in the back. "Where are we going?" she called up to the driver, "You're going shopping..Rodeo Drive. All expenses paid."he said with a smile back to her. Faith was amazed. Joel had put all of this together. Why was he doing this for her though? Faith quickly called Natalia. Straight to voicemail. "Ugh girl you need to answer your phone. You're never going to believe where I am. All thanks to Joel. Now I see why you love that kid. Call me back when you can. Love you girl." she hung up the phone and just stared out the window like a kid in a candy store.

None of this seemed real. She was waiting to wake up. Any minute now she thought. Quickly getting tired of the quiet she flipped on the radio and one of her favorite songs came on "Hope you don't mind, I'm going to turn it up." The driver laughed, "Do what you like. The limo is yours right now." Faith smiled and turned it up loud and began singing with the song. As the song ended they pulled up to Dolce and Gabbana, "Figured you'd want to be here first." "Thank you." Faith said as she placed her sunglasses on and stepped out of the limo. She closed the door behind her and looked around. She felt so out of place. Faith just shrugged it off and headed into the store. It was time to shop.

After about an hour and half of shopping, Faith sat down at a table at an outside cafe. Shopping was tiring. It wore a girl out. Faith ordered herself and Iced Tea and just watched the people pass by her.

Joel went down on one knee in Dani’s room, jerking his head to the side as he pretended to play air guitar along to The Maine’s version of Pour Some Sugar On Me. Ryan O’Neil..Rock God, come on. Besides, that was his brother. He would always firmly believe that Ryan was the best at everything he did. “ Is she here yet?” Dani asked, tucking her tank top into her skirt. “ For the eightieth time, not just yet,” Joel said before he shook his head at Dani. Silly girls. It was not that hard being around him and Justin all the time. “ I’m hot sticky sweet” he sang out, going back to doing his own little dance moves before he heard a knock at the door. “ Justin. I’ll get it,” he said, jumping back up before he headed over to the door. “ Hey man, what’s good” he said, giving him a quick pat on the back before he made way to let him into Dani’s room. “ We’re heading out in a few minutes so we can go shopping with Dani,” he said, before he rolled his eyes dramatically. “Do you really need more clothes?” Justin asked as he looked at Dani but she smiled sweetly before flipping him off. Joel made a slight face as he looked between them. “ Bro your nose is not looking any better,” he said before pressing his finger against it. Not to mention Dani had a scratch on her arm.. whatever that was about. If there was a scuffle down in the lobby with fans or something, he’d want to know about it. Sometimes he felt like people kept stuff from him to protect him. He wasn’t a child. Joel licked his lips quickly, taking his phone out. “ Alright…Leggo..” he said, tilting his head to the door.

Joel could see the excitement in Dani’s eyes as she squealed and ran towards the door. The only person who didn’t know they were on their way to see Faith was the one that Faith would be most excited to see. “ Nic eoutfit choice,” Joel said sarcastically, slapping Justin on the shoulder as he made his way past him and out of the hotel room. Once they reached the lobby he put his sunglasses on. Attention was sort of unavoidable. But he usually had to be dragged away from his fans. Usually by Justin. Joel smiled as a group of girls approached him, excited and giddy. “ Hey,” he said, trying his best to contain his South African accent while he spoke to them, signing their shirts and posing to take pictures with them. Dani waved politely and smiled as she approached Joel, doing her best to keep moving while being nice at well. Justin to the rescue, ‘ Sorry kids, meeting. We’ll be back later’ he said, taking control of both Dani and Joel by their shoulders as he pushed them through the hotel lobby and into the waiting Escalade. “ I’m getting too old for this,” Justin said sarcastically , but.. in reality, he was one of the oldest guys at Taboo. It was a young company. Joel settled in the back of the Escalade , adjusting the way his hoodie fit against his wrists. He gestured to Dani for her music, “ Ladies choice,” he said, letting her pick what kind of music she wanted to listen to. “ Hey do you mind if we head to Rodeo first?” he asked, looking up at the driver before he smiled at him and gave a nod of thanks. His career was about making fans happy.. if he could take a day out of his schedule to make Justin happy and Faith happy as well, why wouldn’t he? It wasn’t like it was interfering with his work, which he was slightly obsessed with.

Dani crawled over Joel’s lap, eagerly plugging her iPhone into the plug in so that her music would blare through the speakers. She could start things off with a fun song, maybe a little Faster by Matt Nathanson. But after about a minute and a half of that she got bored and switched it to Call Me Maybe. She laughed as she watched Justin and Joel pantomiming their way through the song and lip synching the entire thing. It was literally bringing tears to her eyes as she laughed, leaning forward as she wiped the tears away from the corners of her eyes. It was so strange.. less than a few hours ago her and Justin were literally at each others throats all because of secrets. And now they were singing at the top of their lungs. But they had someone in common that they absolutely loved and wanted the best for. She didn’t know all of the details and she didn’t need to. People had secrets for a reason, she knew that better than anyone. She wiggled from side to side in her seat, not putting as much effort into dancing as Joel and Justin were. They were full out in their seats. Their energy level was always off the charts, like someone was hooking pixie sticks up to them through an IV or something. After putting the song on repeat a few times, and partaking in a little Party In The USA, the Escalade finally pulled up in front of a café. ‘ Thanks man’ Joel said, giving the driver an appreciative tap on the shoulder before he handed him a generous tip.

Dani squeeled as she unbuckled her seatbelt and pushed the car door open. ‘ Why do girls get this excited to go shopping…’ Justin said unenthusiastically as he opened his own car door. Dani was already pushing past him and was running, letting the sound of her heels hitting the pavement alert Faith that she was coming towards her. “ Aaah!” she screamed out excitedly before she wrapped her arms tightly around Faith’s frame. “ I can NOT believe you are here! We had no idea you would be here yesterday,” she said as she jumped up and down while hugging her. “ And you totally look like a California girl!” she said as she squeezed her arms tightly around Faith’s shoulders again before she took a step back. “ You’re sort of a surprise for someone,” she said before wiggling her eyebrows and looking over her shoulder with a grin to see if Justin was on his way over or not.

Justin adjusted his baseball hat against his head. He needed to evaluate his manhood for how often they all listened to Call Me Maybe. Dani was already charging out of the Escalade like a bat out of hell. “Aw C’MON” he yelled after her before he leaned back into the car and grabbed his wallet out of the back seat, sliding it into his back pocket. “ It’s like trying to herd cats with you two,” he said, throwing a look at Joel. “ Yeah it’s real funny until one of you ends up knocked up or with an STD and Renner is on my ass about it,” he said, scratching his thumb over his eyebrow. He finally looked up to see where Dani was running towards. Did she know someone at the café? Usually people chased after these kids, not the other way around. And when he saw the blonde hair with the smile he stopped walking. A smile spread across his lips slowly as he watched the two girls hugging. He gave them a second before he started to head over to them, pushing the sleeves of his hoodie up to his elbow. He looked over at Joel as he walked a bit quicker towards the girls. “ This you, man?” he asked excitedly before Joel smiled at him and gave a small shrug. ‘ Guilty,’. Justin approached Faith just as Dani was leaning away from the hug and scooped her small frame up in his arms quickly.

“ Holy crap you’re real,” he said excitedly as he squeezed his arms around her as tightly as he could without hurting her. He didn’t even notice as Dani took a step back and stood next to Joel. All he could think about was the fact that this girl that had been on his mind for weeks, that had him all strung out, checking his phone every five minutes, singing love songs in the shower, was here in the flesh, looking like walking sunshine. He set her down, wrapping his arms around her shoulders as he pulled her into his chest. He lowered his head, placing his cheekbone against the side of her head and took in just a quick whiff of her hair. Yup. There was that ridiculously attractive scent of vanilla and lavender. Honestly it was like she was trying to be the girl of his dreams. “ How are you even here? You have finals,” he said with a slight tone of concern before he brought his hands to the side of her jaw. He smiled as he looked down at her. Screw it. She was here. She was beautiful. She was a lot younger than him, but that wasn’t a bad thing was it? She was mature for her age. He could be immature for his. It could balance out. Justin leaned down, closing the distance caused between them because of her height and kissed her firmly while keeping his hands delicately placed around her jaw.

Faith's ice tea was brought out and she said she'd hold off on the food for a few moments, she had no idea what she was feeling like. Faith looked down at her phone and read Justin's texts. It was weird not texting him back. It was like he had done something wrong, but he hadn't. It was hard to not text him. She was about to cave so she had to place her phone back down on the table. She stared at it for a few moments and the huffed. Faith lifted the glass to her mouth and took a sip out of the straw. That had to be the best iced tea she had ever tasted. She took another sip and then placed the glass back down, wiping the residue of her red lipstick off of the straw. She took the sunglasses off of the top of her head and put them back over her eyes. This umbrella wasn't shading the sun very well. Faith smiled at a few people that walked by her and then turned to look behind her when she heard the clicking of heels. She instantly smiled when she saw Dani "Aaaah!" She hugged Dani tightly back. "I know! It feels like a crazy dream. I'm waiting to wake up any minute."

Faith jumped up and down with Dani, totally excited to be here. "Do I really? I was afraid I was going to stand out like a sore thumb." she said concerned. "You look great though. I love all those colors." she said as she looked down at Dani's skirt and shoes. Faith hugged Dani one more time and then looked over when she saw Justin. She bit her lip and smiled. This guy made her weak in the knees. She wrapped her arms around him and lifted her legs up as he picked her up. She held on to him tightly, taking in his scent. She definitely missed him. Faith closed her eyes as he set her down and pulled her into him. She wrapped her arms around him tightly. This guy meant a lot to her. This was cheesy, but it was like love at first sight for her. As soon as she saw him, she knew she had to be with him. It seemed the same way with him. Faith smiled when he asked about finals, "Don't worry, Joel covered it. Besides, my first final isn't until Thursday." she smiled once more and lifted the sunglasses onto her head. Faith looked up at him, biting her lip. She knew what was coming. As soon as she felt his hands on her jaw, it was obvious. Faith placed her arms lightly around his neck as he kissed her, pulling him a little closer to her. After a few moments Faith broke away. She smiled at him and then realized Dani and Joel were still there. "Come on," she said gesturing to the table, "Join me. " She took her seat and smiled as they sat down.

Joel smiled as he watched Faith and Justin greet each other. See that. He did a good thing. It was nice to see people you care about be so happy. He looked down at his watch, going over to the table as Faith invited everyone to sit down. “ Faith I’m really excited to see you,” he said, leaning down to give her a loose hug around her shoulders. “ Dani and I have a reservation somewhere that we need to keep, so it’s going to be just you and Justin. Hate to be the one to break it to you,” he said with a laugh before he looked over at Justin. “ I’ll just meet you guys at the venue tonight?” he said looking between them. “ I hope you’re alright with coming to a show,” he said with another smile to Faith. “ Alright, Dani let’s go,” he said, tilting his head back towards the Escalade even though she had perched herself into a seat comfortably beside Faith. “ Come on,” he said again, this time laughing at the grumpy face spread across her features. “ Jake is waiting on us,” he said, which caught Dani’s attention. “Really?” she asked excitedly. Joel shook his head, heading over to the escalade. “ No,” he said before climbing into the Escalade to wait on her.

Dani sat down as Faith invited them too. She hadn’t watched as Justin kissed her. It was sweet, and moments like that should be kept private. When the waiter passed by she stopped him as politely as she could, asking if she could get a strawberry lemonade. But she frowned as she overheard Joel explaining to Justin and Faith that they had to be leaving. “ Huh?” she questioned, looking between everyone. It would be nice to give Justin and Faith a little bit of privacy but she was excited to be around someone else, too. She frowned, looking over her shoulder as she remembered that she was supposed to be getting a strawberry lemonade, which sounded really really awesome right now since she couldn’t have it anymore. But then Joel said that Jake was there. “ Really?” she asked excitedly. But Joel just shot that down quickly, ‘ No’ he said with a shake of his head. Dani rolled her eyes, standing up from the table. “ I’ll see you guys later at the show,” she said , setting the napkin down on the table before she followed Joel over to the Escalade. Well even if Jake wasn’t there, she was at least going to call him on the ride over.

Justin smiled against her lips as she pulled him closer to her. That could’ve bit him in the ass but luckily she hadn’t slapped him across the face for being a bit overzealous. He was just so excited to see her, out of nowhere. It really wasn’t his fault. Blame Joel. He watched her after she pulled away, still smiling down at her as she asked for Joel and Dani to join her at her table. He was way too focused on her and the fact that she was there to even pay attention to Joel and Dani as they spoke around him and Faith. When he finally did look up they were gone, and part of him was telling himself he should be a little concerned about the fact that two teenage kids were on the loose in Los Angeles. But Dani was emancipated… legally she was an adult. She could babysit Joel for a while. He looked up as the waiter came back and ordered himself a glass of water. That’s right, they were at a restaurant. He could actually sit down and have a meal with her. He was so happy that he sort of forgot what his surroundings were for a moment.

Justin looked over at Faith, grinning like an idiot again. It was becoming a permanent thing around her. How could a girl so much younger than him make him act like he was in high school all over again? She was young. And he didn’t know what her history was with relationships, if she was scared or adventurous. If she would be cautious or dive all in. But he figured he would let her talk to him at her own pace, whatever she decided it would be. He reached over, placing his hand over hers before he laced his fingers inside of hers. “ Obviously Joel thinks you and I have a potential for something if he is willing to interrupt your studies and fly you across the entire country so we can see each other,” he said, giving a small smirk as he looked down at the menu. Flying across the country for the purpose of seeing somebody wasn’t exactly something you did just for a friend. And poor Faith had been just along for the ride while Joel decided to pull all the matchmaker stringers.

Faith pouted when Joel said he and Dani had already made reservations. She smiled when she realized Dani had no idea what he was talking about. "It's okay, I understand.Some other time." she smiled to the both of them. Joel really wasn't slick, but Faith wasn't complaining. It gave her more time with Justin. Just her and him. It was time that Faith needed. This guy was like a drug to her. He made her so happy whenever she was around him. Every time she caught herself thinking of him, she'd smile. Faith had no idea if he knew the effect he had on her or not. He was the cause of her smiling for no reason, dancing around her room and her pleasant dreams at night. This guy really did something to her. "Of course I'm cool with coming to a show. See you there." she said as he told Dani to come on. Faith looked back at Justin and smiled. He was just so cute. She turned to Dani and gave her a loose one arm hug. "I'll see you tonight girl." She smiled and waved to her as she walked off and then brought her attention back to Justin once more.

Faith looked over the menu for the third time. What in the world was she going to eat? Definitely not a salad, wasn't cute. Faith smiled even more when Justin held her hand. She looked down at their hands together and bit her lip. She could feel the butterflies flying around in her stomach. Happy butterflies. Justin made her feel like a child again. It wasn't like she was old, but he made her feel like a child in elementary school. This felt like a childhood crush. You get happy and shy and nervous all at the same time around them. "Yeah, apparently." she said as she took a sip from her straw and then looked back to Justin. "He's not the only one..." she said with a small smile.
