Logan put Kenzie in her car seat, needing his hands free for a few minutes. He just needed to sort through this paperwork on his desk, in hopes that he would find his desk under the mess. For the amount of time that kid spent in here with her dad, you’d think he would have put some kind of baby thing in there, a bouncy thing, a bassinet, anything. But toting her around in the car seat was easiest. Blake was in her studio writing, so Logan didn’t want to disturb her. He was sure it was easier for her to write music when she wasn’t worried about Kenzie anyways, hence why Logan was with the kid for the afternoon. But that didn’t stop him from getting work done. First thing on his list of things to do, call the booking agent for the venue Joel was performing at tonight. The guy had called earlier when Logan was in the studio with Braison, which wasn’t often but Felicia had taken the message anyways. Something about a stage set up problem and the crew people were unsure of something or other, Logan had no idea. But once again, he’d probably call and clear things up, Renner to the rescue. Kenzie was entertained by her own feet and was being pretty quiet, phone call made. Next order of business, fax the contract paperwork back to his real estate agent. Logan took them from where they were sitting on his desk, signing what needed to be signed and then faxed them to the number he had written down, sliding the papers back in a folder and put it in his desk drawer. He hoped to hear back on that soon. Kenzie was making some noises that sounded like her threatening to start screaming if he did not pick her back up, so Logan grabbed her back out of the car seat and plopped his daughter on his lap. She was as demanding as her mother, that’s what people didn’t realize. They didn’t see it because Blake was so nice to everyone, but she was a glorified diva. And Kenzie apparently was too. But Logan didn’t think he’d have two divas in his life if he couldn’t handle them. And he handled them well. Logan picked up his phone, dialing the number he’d gotten his hands on. He’d heard that the remake of Footloose had lost its financial backing and was being put on hold temporarily, or until they had funds to budget the movie. Logan was interested in this for two reasons. One; Footloose was a classic and remaking it in a modern setting actually seemed like a good idea to him. Especially since it wasn’t going to be identical, which was cool. Making an identical film would never compete, but twisting it into something modern for this generation… that was a great idea. And two; Logan was 20 years old, he was married, had a daughter, and a multimillion dollar record label, and he had so much money he had no idea what he was supposed to do with it. Sometimes he wrote checks to charities. Sometimes he just went on a hunt for a new talented artist to sign and spend money on. Backing a movie financially seemed like a fun idea. He wasn’t sure how he wanted to go about it, maybe he should just start a movie company? He’d have to get in touch with his financial advisor, blah blah. Whatever. He was still going to call the director and tell him the movie was going to happen, because Logan was going to make it happen.
A half an hour later, Logan hung up the phone, feeling pretty pleased with himself. He’d managed to commit to financially backing a major budget film and entertain his five month old baby at the same time. Renner was on a roll today. He thought he’d earned a five minute break, which he spent playing with Kenzie, before deciding he wanted to have a word with Zoe and Felicia. He wasn’t sure what their plans were exactly for the future, but he figured, they’d been here at Taboo since it started, they were as much a part of keeping things running as he was. Sure they had a lot of learning to do, but he’d be willing to pay for both of them to go to school if they wanted to stay at Taboo. Get business degrees, he didn’t care, just as long as it applied to what they were doing here. He’d give them full time benefits and all that. Mostly he just didn’t want to hire new people. He liked the little family they had going here. Why not just turn his interns into employees? Logan reached over and hit the intercom button on his desk phone, “Hey Felicia, Zoe, are you two busy? Come in here for a few minutes,” he said, looking at Kenzie who was reaching for the buttons, pulling her out of reach from the phone. One of them had responded, and then they both came in his office, taking seats across from him, making themselves comfortable. Felicia looked at him resting her arms on the arms rests and crossed her legs knee over knee, “You know some Italian guy has been calling all afternoon trying to talk to you, right? I still haven’t figured out what he’s calling about, he talks in code…?” “Oh!” Logan said, writing himself a note, Call Giovanni back. “Right, so. You’re both fired.” “Ha, you’re hilarious. But seriously, why are we in here,” Felicia said calmly. Logan moved Kenzie over to his other leg, “Well first of all, I hear you are engaged and I really don’t get it, but congrats,” he shrugged, laughing. “Yeah, well no one expected it.” Felicia grinned. Well, at least she seemed happy about it. “Also, Zoe, I just made your boyfriend’s acting gig a sure thing, I decided to back his movie. I’m not sure that’s a good or bad thing for you? You hate that Bailey chick?” He nodded, shrugging, “Anyways, actually I was just calling you guys in here to offer you both jobs. I know this intern thing has been working out really well, you guys pick up slack where I need it, you’ve both learned a lot of ins and outs of what we have to do here to make things run. I guess my question is, what are your plans after you graduate? Do you want to go to college, study something else entirely…or would working here be in the cards?” Logan leaned forward, saying seriously, “I would absolutely considering sending you both to college, get degrees, continue working here part time, guaranteed job when you graduate. If you want to do other things, I completely understand. I just wanted to let you guys know what option I was offering, seeing as your both graduating soon and all.”
