Shane thought it was awfully comical that, seeing as Cody and Claire were just signed as new artists and were being interviewed about it, that they had decided Shane would be a great member of Taboo to interview them. They really could have picked anyone better , anyone at all that was going to take this a hell of a lot more serious then he was about to. No, no. He’d be somewhat serious. Some of these were decent questions that people would actually want to know. Shane sat down, his sheet of paper with his questions, Claire beside him in the middle and Cody on the other side of her. After they told him they could start Shane smiled at the camera, “Hey, I’m Shane Madden sitting here with brand new Taboo artists Claire Fox and Cody Cavanaugh of Maroon 5. Cody, we realize you are but one of a very successful band, and holy shit I sound super legit. Okay sorry, I just impressed myself with my formalness. Anyways, Cody, bro, you’ll have to speak on behalf of Maroon 5, sorry the rest of the bros couldn’t be here.” Shane looked down at his list of questions, clearing his throat, “Okay, here’s a question for both of you, being new at this label what is it that you’re looking forward to most? Don’t say seeing my beautiful face every day, we all know that’s a given,” he joked.

Claire adjusted the skirt over her legs as she crossed them and began to shake her foot. Cody was already talking to people on set like he had known them forever. Probably had. She smiled as she looked over at Shane, getting himself all camera ready. She gave him a small wink before someone came over and adjusted her hair and make up. Claire puffed out her cheeks and sighed ,c rossing her hands over her knees just as Shane was starting to do the intro. She couldn’t help but smile as he complimented himself on his formalness, which to be honest was a pretty big thing for him to accomplish. Though she was still confident the smile across her face was making her look like a dumbass. It was just so cute when he was so proud. “ First of all… I see your beautiful face every day. Second of all, you’re supposed to tell me how nice I look and you didn’t.” she said, lifting her eyebrow at him. “ And third of all, I am most excited about.. “ she started, thinking to herself, “ Oh, I really like riding Joel’s segway that he has in his studio. I mean its supposed to be locked up since he is on tour but I took it for a spin yesterday. “ she before Cody made a jealous noise. “ I.. I don’t even know what to be most excited about. I don’t think Logan has realized what he has done. I feel like I’m visiting my boyfriend at work and I got stuck in a room with a microphone.” she waited for a moment before she perked up excitedly. “ I lied!” she said, reaching out to put her hands over Shane’s as she looked at him, “ I get to listen to All Time Low’s cd being put together. That is a highlight for me. It’s amazing,”

Cody snapped his fingers and pointed when Claire said that what she was looking forward to listening to All Time Low’s album being put together. “ Only reason in the world I joined Taboo,” he said before he licked his lips and then scratched the side of his jaw. “ Uh.. Taboo is a family. I mean.. I get to work with my best friend in the world. Tyson is in this tiny garage band that you guys might have heard of, The All American Rejects,” he said with a small chuckle. ‘ I think I am most looking forward to … damn I don’t even know. The lounge area. Parker makes snacks for everyone. And I don’t mean the same snack. She individualizes snacks, and I don’t mean to sound like I’m jealous… but for SOME reason.. yours always look .. better..” he said, pointing his finger towards Shane. “Favoritism, and I don’t appreciate it” he said, doing his best to keep a serious expression. “Bring it back for a second though because I just realized,… and I don’t know what you’re reasoning is, but Shane you didn’t tell me that I looked nice either,”

Shane laughed when Claire said he had forgotten to tell her she looked good, "Ah, my apologies, you look so incredibly gorgeous today. As always. Never fails." he shrugged, listening as she said what she was most looking forward to, but finally determined just hearing his bands new stuff was going to be the best part. "Really?" he laughed, taking her hand. Shane looked over at Cody, shaking his heading jokingly, "All American- what? not sure I've heard of them." Shane nodded in agreement, "Damn straight my snacks are better." Cody mentioned, again going back to this, that Shane didn't tell him he looked good today either. "Oh, I am so sorry, you beautiful fuck." he grinned, "I will make it up to you with a question, Cody, tell us again, why exactly you guys wanted to sign with Taboo, and what exactly Taboo has to offer you, as opposed to what you're bringing Taboo, since you're already such a huge success." Shane looked at Claire, squeezing her hand, waiting for Cody's response. A lot of her questions were going to involve him and how Brayden coming alone changed her path in life, but hey, they were here together, always together.

Cody ran his hand over his hair as he took that one into consideration. What could Taboo offer him, why make the move when he was already successful. “I don’t think moving to Taboo is.. a choice of wanting to become mores uccessful or not. If you listen to Blake and Logan talk about the label for five minutes, one of them will bring up how Blake was already successful at the label that they were at but she chose to leave completely and follow Logan where he was going open heartedly. There’s a reason. There’s something Taboo records has that no other label has and that’s Logan Renner. No matter how successful you are he’ll take your career seriously, try to understand where you are coming from. What is success anyways? Am I Blake Parker successful? Absolutely not. I’m sure as hell more successful than Tyson” he added jokingly. “ I think mostly what it came down to was.. Logan Renner is the best in the business. If you want to do your best, you gotta go to the best. Simple as that. So all of that being said I have no idea where our sound is going to take us, but I’, sure it will be something new and exciting. And hopefully our fans are willing to open their ears to that” he said before adding dryly, “ And I’m a big Joel Foster fan,”

Shane nodded, completely agreeing with Cody. It was one thing that Taboo had that others didn’t, and that was Logan. He was more than your producer, he was a friend, a mentor, someone who really, really listened to what you were trying to do, trying to be, trying to become. It wasn’t just a, we’re going to market you this way, type of thing. Logan approached everything as a, in what way do you feel comfortable being marketed, and how can we use your real personality to our advantage. Shane was a perfect example. All he and his band were was a bunch of stoner goofballs that didn’t take themselves too seriously but just so happened to make good music. So that’s how they were marketed. Like distant friends who were just in it for the music. Shane said seriously, smiling, “We’re all Joel Foster fans around here,” Shane turned to Claire, still holding her hand, “Okay Claire, music is a new thing for you and wasn’t in the game plan for you originally. What had been your life plan and how did things change for you?” Shane shrugged, “I could answer this one…” he laughed.

Claire laughed dryly as Shane said that music had not been a part of her plan, “ No.. anyone that knew me over the last few years.. the one thing I wanted to do was ballet, and I still am. It’s just things have sort of.. shifted because of perspectives and things. I think…. What you’re expecting for me to say is that my son, Brayden, sort of sent my plans off track and led me to look at different ways of expressing myself artistically. Have you met him?” she asked before she smiled at him slowly, tracing her thumb against the side of his hand. “ Honestly I think things started changing for me the day I realized that there were things in life that I could love more than ballet,” she said honestly, giving a small nod. “ And that was actually on one of my brothers friends birthdays. I had flown out to spend his birthday with him because my brother insisted and on the trip out there I just sort of realized how much I loved and cared about this person and everything just sort of started falling into place, and he really showed me that a greater love exists out there than the one I had for ballet,” she said before she licked the corner of her lips. “ Music really isn’t that far of a stretch. For anyone artistic in the first place you’re going to try and find a hundred different ways to express yourself. My life plan went from my life being one hundred percent focused on ballet, training, getting signed to a company, becoming a principal. And it was.. over night my entire life is different. I still want those things, but it’s easier to put it on the backburner. Now all I want is to do anything and everything that makes me happy. I enjoy listening to music a lot more than making it. I sort of have a thing for musicians,” she said as she lifted her eyebrows towards Shane and smiled.
