Meredith looked down and helped move her hair out of the way as the girl helped hook up her microphone, which sort of always meant an uncomfortable boob graze. “ You sort of got the raw end of the deal here. Looks like a dude is setting up Michael’s mic. You guys should have switched and made things interested. Michael has a thing for girls that set up microphones .. with..” Meredith said as she looked over the girl and tilted her head to the side a bit, “ Hello kitty stickers on their nail polish..” she said before seeing the girl smile and then broke into a smile of her own. It was pretty much the best feeling in the world to be back in New York now that she was done filming Catching Fire, but the aggravating part of it was that it wasn’t even going to be released until next November. Which meant talking about it for a year before it actually came out. Thankfully, today, the main focus would be on Silver Linings. Her and Michael had already done a few morning show interviews together, and a few on their own, but there was something more laid back about late night talk shows, she felt like she didn’t have to hold herself back as much. She might be goofy and say some random shit, but she took her work seriously. Meredith picked up her phone, scrolling through the contacts quickly before she settled on Dan’s name and gave him a quick call. He was probably hanging out with Ethan, but she could still bring him something to eat when she was finished. Moving in with him in New York had felt so much more real than when they had been rooming together in Hawaii. She had thought of it as a vacation, just a super long one. But this just felt permanent. “ They’re ready,” the assistant said and Meredith gave her a thumbs up, quickly ending her call with Dan before literally throwing her phone onto the make-up counter and heading out of the dressing room.
“ Oh you’ve got something there,” Meredith said as she poked Michael in the cheek, “ Oh, it’s just your sexy showing,” she said before smiling sarcastically at her lame joke. She stood at the side of the stage as she waited for Leno to introduce them and then looked over at Michael, giving a small smile before she walked out with him. Interviews with him versus Dan felt so much more relaxed – only because she wasn’t in love with him or having to hide certain aspects of her relationship with him like she was with Dan. At this point everyone knew they were dating, but she was stupid enough to say ‘ oh hey we’re living together’ when really it wasn’t anyone’s business. She made a slight face as the song being played for them to walk to was one from the Hangover soundtrack to placate Michael and looked over giving him a small laugh. She stood by the chairs awkwardly, waiting for him to decide which one he wanted to sit in before he gestured for her to take the seat by the desk. Meredith placed her hand on his arm as she moved past him and then waved at the crowd before taking a seat and crossing her legs. She smiled as she watched the crowd and then looked over at Michael, leaning forward slightly so she could cover her laugh before she looked over at the host and offered a smile. “ Do you guys ever get used to that sound when you walk into rooms?” he asked and Meredith puffed out her cheeks and lifted her eyebrows before shaking her head. “ Well I used to think it was me, until I realized that I’ve worked with some of the most handsome men in the business. So then I mean.. it only takes so many people being like ‘ Meredith get out of the way’ for me to be like, ohhh.. You wanted to see Michael. Or Dan or Ethan,” she said as she rested her elbow against the armrest and bounced her foot that was crossed over her other leg as she turned to look at Michael and gave him a quick wink.
“ You two clearly enjoy working together. You just finished filming Catching Fire and Michael we’re seeing you filming day and night in New York, but the last two movies you filmed together after the huge success of Limitless and Hunger Games, were filmed together. Do you think that filming two movies together made you understand one another as far as acting behaviors go, or was it more or less challenging?” he asked and Meredith looked over at Michael for a few moments before she tilted her hand at him upside down, “ I mean I can go first and then you answer. No one is listening to me anyways.” she said with a laugh as she gestured towards the women in the audience who were undoubtedly staring at Michael. But she was pretty used to it from her promoting with Dan and Ethan. “ I think that… No, working with Michael is great. I mean he’s the only reason I actually signed up to do the role in Serena. And filming something like Silver Linings Playbook, I think it’s really important that you find someone you can work with where it’s.. believable. It’s such a dark comedy, and they’re in such this messed up place. And I don’t think anyone honestly thought that Michael and I would have chemistry on screen. But we were both really passionate about it, and we in the end we both wanted the same thing to come across on screen. He’s talented, very talented. We sort of.. approach work a bit differently, but at the end of the day I would say we probably really strengthen each other. It’s great. I’ve had the chance to do a lot of movies where I’ve worked with people who were established… and um,.. but I mean like within my most recent work he’s the first person that I’ve gotten to work with that I actually look up to as an actor. Ethan is so new to the business and I was so impressed at how quickly he sort of adapted into it, and Dan is.. amazing. You can watch any of his movies and see how talented he is. But they’re my peers. Michael is my peer. He’s not father time, but I was watching his movies before I was acting, so it’s a different experience. Hands down he will get an Oscar for this movie. Hands down,” she said before smiling over at him.
